Don't think any of the above is unreasonable to expect from any promotion to be honest.7 points

That's the beauty of JustGiving, if you want to contribute you can but if you don't you're not forced. Everyone has a choice7 points

Brennan definitely touched Kyle. Was a racing move don't get me wrong, no bad intent, but the correct call was made5 points

Just put transponders on the bikes then there would be no argument who got to the finish line first. You would also get accurate race times. They've had them on the karts on the racetrack next to Redcar speedway for years.5 points

Just bullet pointing roughly what was said- Started off wishing all the best for Auty. Said a meeting being abandoned after 2 races for a straight forward crash is unacceptable. He's sick of turning up at tracks and finding them operating with the bare minimum of medical cover. Believes that the authorities should step in and insist on having two paramedics and ambulances before a meeting should start. Understands that medical cover doesn't come cheap but should be the first item on each clubs budget at the start of the season.4 points

Other thing about last night is should book that ref for all the double headers.Just about had the 2 minutes on when the previous race riders were coming round bend 4 on their last lap4 points

if Richie doesn`t get away from the parade line up first he will turn right on everyone from habit3 points

I hope this ok to post - we have created a JustGiving page to raise donations for Josh Auty who is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after breaking his leg at Birmingham earlier this week. Please could you donate if you are able and also share the link to try and help spread the word? https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/joshautyfundraiser Thank you!3 points

Who would have thought a team with five second strings and two reserves would not have won a competitive match? Answer: pretty much everybody really2 points

I don’t get what’s in it for Glasgow to consider moving to the Premiership though? Smaller league, more costs, no local matches… what am I missing?2 points

Let's hope it doesn't take as long to get 'Terry' or someone similar in as it did for Poole, was at least ten years of bumps and holes wasn't it? Might have been longer.2 points

If the producers of Speedway Star magazine read this please can you look at reverting the cover of the magazine to what it used to be. What I mean by that is reflecting the events of the day. Have the latest grand prix winner etc on the cover and make it relevant to the news of the week. The front page format you have been using over the last few years is boring and uninspiring. I used to buy the magazine every week religiously but now only buy it periodically. Please change the front cover back. It used to be like a souvenir back in the day following a World Final or Grand Prix. P.S This weeks cover should have been Nigel Pearson rather than just a small pic of him. Just Saying.2 points

To put it in football terms with reference to my own club... It was like sacking Giovanni van bronckhorst and replacing him as manager with renowned kit man Jimmy bell.2 points

Gdansk are absolutely woeful so far this season2 points

They did a good job and had lots of enthusiasm which is always a big plus. No criticism from me, just observation. Keep up the good work and I will tune in again later in the season.2 points

See there was 1 or 2 passes last night according to the updates at the home of the FTG bandits2 points

Having a guest from another team who are also in a three team round robin would be absurd.2 points

After all my talk last week, I WILL be going this week. We have a bit of spare time and money today so we can afford the trip. I just hope it's a classic meeting and we get some news about whoever Brad's replacement is??? I need to fall in love with Newcastle speedway again...2 points

Thought they said it was to get all the sponsor group around whatever they do an then into their box.Ref didn't come back from pits to ref box till near enough 7.15 either so maybe "discussions" in pits possibly over who was eligible for r/r rides. At least it was a lovely warm night to sit waiting.2 points

Your observations are out of date. The changes made to both shape & size since it was laid out now produce comparable racing to almost every other uk track (a few exceptions) The issue now is the inconsistency of surface - too many bumps and holes in key areas which need to be addressed.2 points

You're missing a big part. Nigel only died on Friday and the Speedway Star is signed off on a Monday. Very hard to get a full tribute done for him when the majority of the magazine is written. Not only that, every single writer for the magazine will have been hugely affected by his passing, as they're all his colleagues!! It has been said that next week will be all about Nigel, which will allow them to get the tribute he deserves.2 points

One of the biggest disappointments is the Leicester track. They had a blank canvas and came up with that.2 points

Excellent meeting, but why do we have to wait until 7.15 for the 1st heat.2 points

Mr Worrall by any chance? His name got announced and he didn't acknowledge the crowd or anything was too busy being pushed off by his mechanic.1 point

Mind you putting on 2 mins for rerun when fallen rider was still on the track at Brough today was probably a bit too over enthusiastic!1 point

I have been to Leicester about ten times now. I have to say it was so bad that I swore I would never go back. It was gate, hold your position out of bend two and that was that. The promotion first of all denied there was anything wrong with the track. Totally in denial. But finally they brought the bends in and racing did fractionally improve. It took a while but last season I saw a very good meeting there, and the playoff semi had lots of passing. This season there was again passing, but the track was rough on the first and second bends. Need Terry, our track guy, to be employed to get it like he has got Wimborne Road. And to think. They could have put in a Belle Vue or Bydgoszcz, but instead got it so wrong it’s impossible to actually believe.1 point

There is but there is nothing to stop supporters chipping in additional if they want to. As much as the Benevolent Fund helps & is appreciated by riders the Fund can only help so much. Best wishes to Josh in his recovery Neither he or Birmingham are avin any luck.1 point

Kyle Howarth got it spot on a couple of weeks ago in hie post match interview. He said the more you attack the track, the more you get out of it. There have been some cracking races there this season. Unfortunately, all teams are not equal.1 point

Simon is riding with a proper no1 & around our place 2nd & 3rd is what he is hoping for in each race. Kennedy was firing so even that heat is difficult to win. He is scoring points, not finishing last & doing a Captains job. I even saw him in last weeks match after the incident with Aarnio & Worrall have a group huddle/talk.1 point

We got all our passing out of our system last night as I am thinking there wont be much need of it next Saturday.1 point

Oh come on now, I think we can all agree that those who have been twice in eleven years know more about the track than those who go every week I think its generally accepted that when building the track and stadium they made a bit if a horlicks of the shape but a lot of work has gone into widening and improving it. Sounds like there are one or two issues with the surface but it's posted on here far more often than ever before that the racing is good nowadays and that's a very positive thing. To answer the OP writing any team off in April is silly.1 point

Well one thing we know about Hawkins is,, he definitely isn't a tactical genius.1 point

3 heat leaders at Leicester and some teams have struggled to track more than 1. The investment in the twins over the years has been considerable and admirable. For the sake of a season or two' s not optimal results in return for potential return has to be worth it1 point

Was a cracking meeting. Thought Glasgow could get a point but lions pulled away. Basso is some rider . Thought heat 14 was amazing . Joe n Dan out witted basso and he moaned but was just fair racing.1 point

It’s not strict rules though it’s more of a “ get out” clause.IMO.Discrection has to be used in this case.I fear for them.1 point

A good match last, some great racing. Lions getting a point was the right result I think. Nick Morris is a true racer, as for his 'chat' with the ref, I see no problem with it, a stern word from the ref should have sufficed as a slap on the wrist. How many remember Geoff Pusey's visits to the refs box, climbing over the fence, stomping through the crowd, certainly got the crowd going. We need riders like Morris, racers who entertain. Both sides raced hard last night to make a great meeting.1 point

If this is the way the Birmingham promotion want to run then they've got absolutely no place in the sport. The absolute cheek to charge fans £10 for 2 races. When promotions run like this doing the absolute bare minimum and then genuinely rip off fans they don't just damage their own club, they damage the sports image and reputation or what little it has left. I fully understand that "beggars can't be choosers" but there must be some sort of standard set for promotions looking to run? Because regardless if this consortium "saved" Birmingham speedway with these sort of practices they won't last more than 5 minutes. Laurence Rogers in particular should be absolutely ashamed of himself. He's not a newbie, he knows how the sports run and knows how vital it is to keep fans loyal. Unfortunately I think this will turn anyone with any sense away...1 point

What is interesting about this change in admission policy is how few clubs have the guts to admit what they have done. I looked at 2022 progs from 6 tracks (Inc Birmingham) and only one (Newcastle) actually stated what the 'new we rip you off' readmission policy was1 point

The defence will be, "under the standard BSP Ltd policy for abandoned meetings". I don't know chapter and verse on this policy but any ruling that says it's okay to charge £10 for two races needs ripping up and rewriting. Surely, there has to be some sense of fairness inherent in any rule covering such eventualities. I know the rule is based on the number of races seen, but even under the old rules, it was recognised that until you got to heat 7, no meaningful meeting had taken place. Look at this way, let's say there were 1000 fans there. The temptation to scrape through two races is enormous in that the promotion save £10,000. I know that's not what happened in this case, but it does demonstrate how nonsensical this ruling is.1 point
