  1. Don't think any of the above is unreasonable to expect from any promotion to be honest.

  2. That's the beauty of JustGiving, if you want to contribute you can but if you don't you're not forced. Everyone has a choice

  3. Brennan definitely touched Kyle. Was a racing move don't get me wrong, no bad intent, but the correct call was made

  4. Just put transponders on the bikes then there would be no argument who got to the finish line first. You would also get accurate race times. They've had them on the karts on the racetrack next to Redcar speedway for years.

  5. Common sense comments then... Get the fundamental basics correct first..

  6. Just bullet pointing roughly what was said- Started off wishing all the best for Auty. Said a meeting being abandoned after 2 races for a straight forward crash is unacceptable. He's sick of turning up at tracks and finding them operating with the bare minimum of medical cover. Believes that the authorities should step in and insist on having two paramedics and ambulances before a meeting should start. Understands that medical cover doesn't come cheap but should be the first item on each clubs budget at the start of the season.

  9. I hope this ok to post - we have created a JustGiving page to raise donations for Josh Auty who is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after breaking his leg at Birmingham earlier this week. Please could you donate if you are able and also share the link to try and help spread the word? https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/joshautyfundraiser Thank you!

  16. Who would have thought a team with five second strings and two reserves would not have won a competitive match? Answer: pretty much everybody really

  17. I don’t get what’s in it for Glasgow to consider moving to the Premiership though? Smaller league, more costs, no local matches… what am I missing?

  18. Let's hope it doesn't take as long to get 'Terry' or someone similar in as it did for Poole, was at least ten years of bumps and holes wasn't it? Might have been longer.

  19. If the producers of Speedway Star magazine read this please can you look at reverting the cover of the magazine to what it used to be. What I mean by that is reflecting the events of the day. Have the latest grand prix winner etc on the cover and make it relevant to the news of the week. The front page format you have been using over the last few years is boring and uninspiring. I used to buy the magazine every week religiously but now only buy it periodically. Please change the front cover back. It used to be like a souvenir back in the day following a World Final or Grand Prix. P.S This weeks cover should have been Nigel Pearson rather than just a small pic of him. Just Saying.

  20. To put it in football terms with reference to my own club... It was like sacking Giovanni van bronckhorst and replacing him as manager with renowned kit man Jimmy bell.

  21. They did a good job and had lots of enthusiasm which is always a big plus. No criticism from me, just observation. Keep up the good work and I will tune in again later in the season.

  24. After all my talk last week, I WILL be going this week. We have a bit of spare time and money today so we can afford the trip. I just hope it's a classic meeting and we get some news about whoever Brad's replacement is??? I need to fall in love with Newcastle speedway again...

  25. Thought they said it was to get all the sponsor group around whatever they do an then into their box.Ref didn't come back from pits to ref box till near enough 7.15 either so maybe "discussions" in pits possibly over who was eligible for r/r rides. At least it was a lovely warm night to sit waiting.

  26. Your observations are out of date. The changes made to both shape & size since it was laid out now produce comparable racing to almost every other uk track (a few exceptions) The issue now is the inconsistency of surface - too many bumps and holes in key areas which need to be addressed.

  27. You're missing a big part. Nigel only died on Friday and the Speedway Star is signed off on a Monday. Very hard to get a full tribute done for him when the majority of the magazine is written. Not only that, every single writer for the magazine will have been hugely affected by his passing, as they're all his colleagues!! It has been said that next week will be all about Nigel, which will allow them to get the tribute he deserves.

  28. One of the biggest disappointments is the Leicester track. They had a blank canvas and came up with that.

  32. Yeah Ringwood Speedway 1937 to 1993 they called Ringwood Turfs, i think lot of Aldershot people missed Aldershot Speedway as well.

  33. Wasn't there some sort of a track at Ringwood once? Recall that Martin Yeates used to practice there.

  34. I'd say 500ish (I counted and there aren't many places to hide at Brough so probably a fair estimate).

  35. To put the record straight, Brennan had gated, Bailey in 2nd, Worrall in 3rd, going into the 3rd bend Worrall went underneath Bailey, no contact, but Bailey fell, the rerun was 3 riders only,as Bailey was disqualified. Worrall won the rerun. Glasgow so I understand wanted the heat to be awarded, but it was only the 3rd bend on the second lap.

  41. For the benefit of everyone. Benjamin is Danish, he rides in the Danish league on Wednesdays, Danish riders have to fulfil their commitments to their Danish team, Poole race on a Wednesday night because that is the best night for them from a fan/commercial point of view, so not practical for him to ride for Poole, Poole wanted Richard Lawson, to make things simple Glasgow agreed to swap Richard for Benjamin. Benjamin has moved from one club that pays its riders on time to another club that pays its riders on time. Richard is a recognised championship No.1, Benjamin isn't, albeit a good prospect. So in some ways Glasgow were taking a risk but team building wise it suited them so everyone was happy. Ok

  44. And I'll not be told by some brown nose where I can and can't make a comment. You can come up with every excuse under the sun, but charging anyone £10 for 2 races isn't acceptable and its only going to do one thing which is push more people away from the sport. It might be some absolute braindead BSPA rule but it seems ridiculous to actually enforce it and I'll say now if Sheffield were to do the same I'd be voting with my wallet.

  46. Morris added to the entertainment last night. He’s a real racer and can understand why he was upset at the Heat 11 decision. As long as he wasn’t abusive I have no issue with his actions, a pantomime villain always gives a bit of interest.
