  3. Well for one I was happy to see Zagar in action at Foxhall last night regardless of how anyone interprets the rules

  5. The bspl ignore or change the rules as they see fit….. have done for the last 50 years

  6. Surprised they have been changed. After all speedway has a habit of keeping supporters in the dark

  8. Not at all.But sometimes you lose the will to get your point across, especially to the ones who don't want to accept it or indeed don't understand it.As the saying goes"there's none so blind as those who will not see".This certainly rings true here so there is no point going on.

  12. It also happened some years ago at Coventry from memory. 3 riders were excluded and only Rick Miller was left in the race, who was then excluded for pulling wheelies!

  13. understandable, coming from Poole, that you don't know what a 'motorway blade' is

  14. Looks as if he will be the man this time. There was a film released in the 1960s called "A Man For All Seasons" starring Paul Schofield. In late 2022 we could well see a sequel to that as "A Man For All Reasons" starring Chris Harris ! By the end of the season wonder how many teams will not have included the ever reliable Mr Harris as a guest for whatever reason ? Fingers of one hand maybe ?

  15. Absolutely true!! But who is actually right and who is wrong? Posters have interpreted the same rules & regulations in different ways. The speedway governing body has sanctioned several things that surely must be within the rules as they meant them to be applied - or have they? Anyway, there's certainly a strong 'split' of opinion on whether they have or not. The only 'opinion' that counts in the end, though, is that of the speedway governing body. It won't stop the debate, but perhaps everyone from both sides of the argument should be lobbying for the rules and regulations to be worded in clear, straightforward and unambiguous English. And, anyone who might say they already are .... well, maybe that's case of 'none so blind' too?

  16. To be honest, the issue of whether the regulations rule on this subject is rather academic. However, I think that riders who give up when they are last, are universally disliked by fans. I've took to putting CBA in my programmes (couldn't be *****). It's clear that the only way to cut out this habit of not racing to the flag is for team managers to kick a few behinds.

  17. Of course there would be questions about the heat 15 selection. If they wanted to stop the so called keyboard warriors maybe they should have announced the reason over the tannoy
    2 points
  18. That surely isn’t even up for debate. World class riders that have been as loyal to British speedway as he has over the years are as rare as rocking horse sh!t.
    2 points
  19. Yes so correct. What this site does show is the amount of people in life who just want to moan. It was obvious that Doyle must have had a problem but those keyboard warriors just wanted to jump on Richie Hawkins without knowing any facts. I was very impressed with the team effort last night and shows we not a bad team when we have our full 1-7

  20. Maybe the reasons that Doyle was not in heat 15 should be known before slagging of the team manager hey? You don’t mention that the switch made when Starke came in got us a 5-1. could easily have stuck with Rowe as he was doing OK.

  21. Pearson looked quality in his first race at scunny and you can clearly see he got massive potential..I think he’ll do well nxt season as long as he can keep on top of his equipment and keep his place..if not ewr could be the place for him he seemed to like opening the throttle and not giving a rubbish who was around him..could be a winner in a couple of years and be a top rider..but others may disagree..I’m only going by what I seen that night before you all start

  36. That's his season done then I suspect. Such a shame as he was pulling up some trees before his crash. I hope he recovers fully and swiftly; the very best of luck to Dan

  37. Just on the Belle Vue point thing, I was also a bit disappointed we didn’t stop them taking anything from the meeting. But to be honest it matters very little as they’re guaranteed a top 4 spot anyway along with Sheffield. It’s Wolves, Lynn and Peterborough we’re competing with for the other two spots so it’s those three we need to prevent taking any points away from Foxhall.

  40. It’s become popular to jump on the bandwagon and stick the boot in on Hawkins at every given opportunity these days unfortunately and it’s getting a bit tiresome. “It was an amazing effort by Doyley to do four rides given that he has a perforated eardrum and is really under the weather. To put four rides in and get three wins was an amazing effort, it was a leader’s performance” There simply HAD to be an explanation and I’d have thought it was pretty obvious that it wasn’t because the manager tactically thought he had two better options. I certainly don’t agree with every decision he makes and I still don’t like the riding order seeing Riss at 2. But hearing him give his reasons for the riding order before the meeting it was hard to argue. King and Barker go back a long way and have ridden together many times in their Birmingham days and enjoy riding together, so after speaking to the riders he paired them up. Fair enough. Just then leaves one decision, Riss and Batch at 2 or 5.

  45. This is now two of eleven sides using a permanent guest for their No1. Can't be good for the credibility of the sport but I'm sure the promoters and riders love it.

  46. I find it odd people jumping on the wagon to jump on young James, poor guy has moved country at the age of 16 is on tracks hes never rode before what are you expecting from a first season. He won his first ride at scunny the other day so got his 3 points job done. He would have won his first heat last night however got a puncture. Its still only his had 2 home meeting , id hate to work for some off you lot , youd be sacked after your second day. I personally think middle to end of season he will be on 5-7 points at home. Keep the faith and get behind your riders.

  47. I think you need to rein your neck in a bit! I don’t know how long you’ve been attending speedway… since I started regularly attending again 20+ years ago, there’s always been tension in our matches, more so at Brough! Your lot ain’t holier than thou either and Rob should think clearly about the comments he’s received himself at the hands of his own fans! and consider why our promotion stopped our junior riders going out… Scott, Jamie and Flinty are ex-riders… they have an idea on track prep and conditions! Why would they send our youngsters out if they were concerned… they have a role to play in the management and welfare of them! Consider also that one of our senior team had his son due to go out in the NJL meeting?! I’m sure he’d have let him ride if there was no issue!
