The bspl ignore or change the rules as they see fit….. have done for the last 50 years3 points
-
Surprised they have been changed. After all speedway has a habit of keeping supporters in the dark3 points

You really are still quite bitter about last years Play Off Final aren't you3 points
-
Not at all.But sometimes you lose the will to get your point across, especially to the ones who don't want to accept it or indeed don't understand it.As the saying goes"there's none so blind as those who will not see".This certainly rings true here so there is no point going on.3 points

Aye some of the fencing has gone in and once its finished I will stick some pretty pictures on here for all to see the latest progress but by all means call round for a look see and chat with the lads on site as they would love to hear your views Regards THJ2 points

It also happened some years ago at Coventry from memory. 3 riders were excluded and only Rick Miller was left in the race, who was then excluded for pulling wheelies!2 points

understandable, coming from Poole, that you don't know what a 'motorway blade' is2 points

Looks as if he will be the man this time. There was a film released in the 1960s called "A Man For All Seasons" starring Paul Schofield. In late 2022 we could well see a sequel to that as "A Man For All Reasons" starring Chris Harris ! By the end of the season wonder how many teams will not have included the ever reliable Mr Harris as a guest for whatever reason ? Fingers of one hand maybe ?2 points
-
Absolutely true!! But who is actually right and who is wrong? Posters have interpreted the same rules & regulations in different ways. The speedway governing body has sanctioned several things that surely must be within the rules as they meant them to be applied - or have they? Anyway, there's certainly a strong 'split' of opinion on whether they have or not. The only 'opinion' that counts in the end, though, is that of the speedway governing body. It won't stop the debate, but perhaps everyone from both sides of the argument should be lobbying for the rules and regulations to be worded in clear, straightforward and unambiguous English. And, anyone who might say they already are .... well, maybe that's case of 'none so blind' too?2 points
-
To be honest, the issue of whether the regulations rule on this subject is rather academic. However, I think that riders who give up when they are last, are universally disliked by fans. I've took to putting CBA in my programmes (couldn't be *****). It's clear that the only way to cut out this habit of not racing to the flag is for team managers to kick a few behinds.2 points

Of course there would be questions about the heat 15 selection. If they wanted to stop the so called keyboard warriors maybe they should have announced the reason over the tannoy2 points
-
That surely isn’t even up for debate. World class riders that have been as loyal to British speedway as he has over the years are as rare as rocking horse sh!t.2 points
-
Yes so correct. What this site does show is the amount of people in life who just want to moan. It was obvious that Doyle must have had a problem but those keyboard warriors just wanted to jump on Richie Hawkins without knowing any facts. I was very impressed with the team effort last night and shows we not a bad team when we have our full 1-72 points
-
Maybe the reasons that Doyle was not in heat 15 should be known before slagging of the team manager hey? You don’t mention that the switch made when Starke came in got us a 5-1. could easily have stuck with Rowe as he was doing OK.2 points

Pearson looked quality in his first race at scunny and you can clearly see he got massive potential..I think he’ll do well nxt season as long as he can keep on top of his equipment and keep his place..if not ewr could be the place for him he seemed to like opening the throttle and not giving a rubbish who was around him..could be a winner in a couple of years and be a top rider..but others may disagree..I’m only going by what I seen that night before you all start2 points

You would have thought the super team manager would have realised that.2 points

You have got to remember the average age of the current supporters, they will have forgot the answers before they get to page 32.2 points

Sorry…..not from where I stand near the starting gate. No deliberate infringement by Harris but he cut in front of Starke leaving him no option but to lay down. Couldn’t believe the exclusion light not going on immediately and neither could the other fans around me watching from that viewpoint.1 point

J. Fergusson......that's a new one for me.....I'll do some checking. Not so new.....Know nothing about him unfortunately except the "J" was Jimmy and yes he was Canadian......I have asked around to see if anyone else knows anything.1 point

Well job done, 3 points none given away. In the circumstances I'll take that1 point

Writing them as ambiguous as they can means subjective interpretation comes into play.. Which then means clubs can use this to their advantage as and when the need arises.. And. As pretty much every club will need to use these ambiguous regulations at some time of their existence, no one will complain or challenge the process.. And obviously "in the interest of Speedway" trumps everything if all else fails anyway....1 point

Hello Fourentee, hope you are well. I knew Steve as a young lad. Used to play cricket with him and regularly went to speedway matches with him all over the country together. He was a huge wind up merchant even then. I bet he has an absolute blast on this forum, knowing how many bites he gets!1 point

Poor from Fricke. Hopefully Blodorn will be better on his next visit to Foxhall. Thanks to Hawkins, Kurtz & Zagar for the league point. And hats of to Brennan.1 point

exactly. because there are too few to go around which was obvious at the end of last season yet they allowed some teams to track three whilst others have none and two have non existent No1's. It all leads in one direction with an increasingly smaller pool of riders who constantly guest for opponents. It's a team sport in name only now. Shame1 point
-
So now you are saying that the young reserves should not improve to displace older 2nd strings but be happy to keep hold of a reserve berth. That is why these youngsters want to step up and succeed. You have to start at the bottom some time & hopefully progress up the ladder. As I said before ....clueless. NB; "know" not "no"1 point
-
It's clear to see that Plymouth is a much better race track than some would have you believe.1 point
-
Your missing my point I no averages change, what I’m trying to say is lambert after all these years should be able to hold a place down in the1-5 and he can’t your reserve moves up and scores 1 and if that carries on the youngster might get a bit disheartened and that’s no good for him there is no way your captain should still be lurking around in the reserve berth and you no it you might not admit it but it’s true.oh and I’m certainly not clueless.1 point
-
The old saying........Doesn't matter wot size it is it's wot u do with it that counts!......kinda comes to mind. So whether a track is big or small it's the shape of it that determines the quality of racing. Went to Plymouth, the smallest track, on Tuesday for the very first time and I was well impressed with the breathtaking racing on show. It's nonsense to say the Premiership should only be for tracks (Daniel Smith) that allow the riders to be throttle jockeys coz that can also be boring if the track isn't shaped correctly. At both ends of the scale Plymouth & Belle Vue av got their tracks on the money1 point

You always seem to have an opinion - mostly negative I must say - I would really like to know have you ever ridden a speedway bike or even been a team manager? Just curious.1 point

Second half was cancelled due to the Berwick juniors not wanting to ride, nothing to do with the goings on in the pits. I did witness Newcastle fans shout abuse at all the Berwick riders and promotion, so if a couple Berwick guys gave some back, then fair game in my opinion, as it was the Newcastle fans that started the verbal abuse… as usual.1 point

Idea is to win the meeting, nothing wrong with managers playing around with tactics to try and win a meeting in my view, I do completely understand the point of view of the ‘lesser reserve’ though, and I think they should be informed before signing the contract that it will be happening1 point
