Allegedly sold Gaz but if any of this lot said it was raining I would still go outside to check... Another rumour that has surfaced is that 4 interested buyers now... but two run off when they heard the facts and the other two are apparently still mulling things over; however the clincher will be; and again if true... the rent will be £50k next season to hire Brough (which is apparently what Brum pay) For a stadium with no floodlight facility... Makes you wonder... Regards THJ3 points

It was announced at the Scunny v Edinburgh match that Dave will miss the rest of the season due to going into hospital. . Here’s wishing him a speedy recovery from whatever the medical problem is he suffering with3 points

Makes no difference considering his points included beating Becker (twice) and Nick Morris as well as Thompson and Jorgensen. He actually retired whilst leading in the reserves race! Would have been a double figure score otherwise. Starke rides Wolves very well, always has. I know fans of losing teams always try and find excuses but you’re clutching at straws here.2 points

Must have been around 2000 capacity at Oxford against Glasgow, the crowd went wild when Oxford got a 5-1 in last heat to win it.2 points

But also suffered when success wasnt being delivered... Big crowds suddenly became "average" when the trophies were not guaranteed... They are a club that, more than most, seem to do very well at the gate when success is happening, but lose out more than most pro rata when it doesnt.. I presume choosing to drop down into Div 2 was down to not getting enough punters in to make Div 1 deliver what they wanted? If they had got 2000 a week I would have thought that this would have been more than enough to stay in the top flight..2 points

"in the best interests"may come in handy which has been proved by Ipswich and Belle Vue this season2 points

Best wishes to Kyle Bickley who`s signing was announced by Redcar this morning.2 points

around 2 hours bit less if traffic easy lot less if your heavy footed lol2 points

I hope Kyle does well, but I don't think he will strengthen the team. If they were going to drop Adam, they should have done it before the new averages kicked in. Could have fit Paul Stark in.2 points

I dont understand the ongoing obsession speedway fans have in the UK regarding crowds, fact is no club in the country gets good crowds, i can remember when every track i visited got four or five figure crowds, BV for example would take 6 coaches down to Swindon as well as people making their own way. Away fans came in large numbers to Hyde Road as it was a family day out with the fun fair and zoo, the BLRC could have 20,000 fans in, just to think speedway used to get football type crowds on a regular basis many years ago, those days are long finished. Sad to see the sport as it is today Lisa. Maybe the powers that be need to study where Poland was then and how they got to where they are now? Next up tv meeting with the majority staying to watch on tv.2 points

Why would the FIM or more likely the series rights holders want to restrict how many lucrative GPs they stage each year? As you say, it's all about maximising revenue and very little to do with sharing things around, quite aside from the fact hardly anyone else actually wants to stage a GP.2 points

Enjoyed that tonight... Some cracking racing from both teams.. No guests either... (Not sure if that is allowed in the regulations though).. Connor Mountain and Tom Brennan both deserved more for their efforts, but great to see young British lads mixing it with GP stars.. Plenty of sponsors on the centre green too, and that ball game thingy is good to keep the kids involved, so the Aces look like they are giving something a go off track too... Biggest crowd of the year at the NSS for the Premiership? Maybe 1800/1900? No guests, decent crowd, full on cracking racing from both sets of riders, regardless of the scoreline, interaction with the fans, and all done an dusted by 915pm... When done this well, what's not to like about British Speedway? It shows it can be done...2 points

Correct, Sam wouldn’t of pulled out yesterday If it wasn’t bad. Has to much respect for the club to do that.2 points

Seems as far as i can see that Thaysen retired in 2019 And at least on FB, the Skaerbaek site has no posts after 2018 , which is a shocker1 point

Yeah I was looking at Scunthorpes remaining home fixtures and it’s similar with 2 summer trophy meetings , 1 league Vs Berwick and a KO cup to be arranged think they would have been better playing everyone twice home and away1 point

The administrators have to go by the insolvency rules. Unless season ticket money is held in a separate ring-fenced account then any unused part of the season ticket will be bottom of the list for repayment.1 point

I honestly don't know. Introducing 250cc was the death of Finnish 85cc, since from already few a couple decided to switch, so not enough riders anymore to host 85cc meetings. A couple of kids from Varkaus have been touring the Baltics for 85cc heats in BSL, but don't know anymore about Sweden. Swedish 85cc used to have 100+ riders and in Denmark 150+ for 85cc and also 50cc. About 15 years ago...1 point

The problem with a rider having to "rest" after pulling out of a fixture, is that it means more guests being needed! Fans already complain that too many guests are used - with a rule like that a club would be forced to use a guest, while a rider, who's been declared fit, wants to ride!1 point

One rider dropping off form wise you could expect but 5 of them, Ostergaard, Andersen, MPT, Nicholls and Palin all at once is really strange1 point

Where did you get that from? The BYC wasn't covered, since the Scunny stream is done by a young and enthusiastic group of lads, some of which had college, etc, to go to today and it takes significant time for them to pack up the gear.1 point

My recollection was that in the stadium you could only hear the commentary on the last lap, whereas on the You Tube videos you can hear him throughout the race. What he was able to do was use the commentary to gee up the crowd if the Dons had pulled off a good race win and he was one part of an excellent promotion team. Mike Bennet was excellent when he was at Wimbledon, too.1 point

Speedway at Birmingham Wheels was unsuccessful during the three seasons of its operations there. There were many reasons for this, most of them being out of the control of Birmingham Speedway. The place was in its complete infancy, getting there was difficult and not very safe with no entrance via the main Bordesley Green Road, only via a dark and dismal lengthy back street (Landor Street) and approached through an unlit railway tunnel. The spectator facilities there were non-existant and what little spectator comforts were minimal. Sharing the track with banger cars was a disaster. This is possible at some existing stadia I know, but at the Wheels Park, the banger cars used it daily so preparation of the track for speedway meetings was virtually impossible. Even so, despite the problems, the track was a very good shape and before the cars wrecked it, produced some very good racing, and for all it's primitiveness, spectator viewing was very good. The speedway venture ended when at the instigation of the new Wheels Park Manager, an application to extend planning permission to beyond those first three seasons, was arbitrarily withdrawn, so Tony Mole who had just purchased the speedway rights, wasn't able to continue even though he was prepared to do so. Later attempts to get back into the Wheels Park using a different, unused part of the site to constructed a new exclusive for speedway track, were blocked by the same Wheels Park Manager. Could speedway have re-established itself there? I think it could have. We could have had our own track and used it for training as well as public meetings, and now that there is the access to the site from the main road, we could have capitalised on the fact that it is now on several bus routes, and that Adderley Park Rail Station is close by. The Wheels Park is still located in one of the less glamourous parts of the City it is true, so it might have been a long slow haul to get the club back on it's feet, but I always thought the place had possibilities. Now it seems that the City Council are looking for ways of recovering some of the massive debts it has run up in its efforts to promote the Commonwealth Games, and are trying to reclaim and re-sell the land on which the Wheels Park is situated. All the hard work which has gone into building a popular and well used operation from very small beginnings, will be wasted if they succeed, and I wish the group who are challenging this truly outrageous plan, every possible success in their opposition, and will be happy to help in any way if I can.1 point

No you said at all places fans can stand. As John's post on Workington post shows at some areas will be 3, some 5 and some 10m. So no you are not correct1 point

The new stadium plans look great, i'll miss Armadale though. Hope they keep the finishing line pyrotechnics machine, i really like that touch.1 point

Some relevant points disclosed by the Projector Director have been reported in the Edinburgh Evening News include:- "Prospective buyers of the vacant site at Deans must submit their proposals to West Lothian Council no later than July 28" "There is a process through the council where they select their bidder and that is ratified, so all of that will happen in the next couple of months." "Through word of mouth there is competition for the site but we believe we have a strong case" As the above confirms, the Promotion have been transparent in their Proposal & Plans, that acquiring the site, together with appropriate planning permission, is not yet a fait accompli. Personally I'm highly impressed with their approach, which will hopefully encourage all fans to support this either financially or with other means of assistance. Reported feedback from local councillors indicates they are aware of the local community initiatives that the Club have been involved in for many years, and hopefully these will be considered favourably when a final decision on who is offered the site is taken.1 point

You certainly aren’t going to get a Promoter to tell you what good crowd is.! Just the poor ones.1 point
