  3. How many of these missing riders will be seen in walkabout tonight in Cardiff

  4. Think you've totally missed the point. This Fixture traditionally night b4 SGP at Cardiff. Was previously at Somerset who had a 4000 crowd in 2019. Oxford now most suitable with decent capacity adjacent to M4 link to South Wales.

  5. I might be way off the mark here but perhaps the pay rates might be at basic level and the riders just dont want to ride for that level, save myself for poland !

  7. Lots of negativity on this thread which isn't matched by the atmosphere and support at Oxford this year. Come along to Oxford for a night of speedway and enjoy the experience that the fans are enjoying this season!

  10. Not sure that one page in a month largely devoted to Batchelor's inconsistency really constitutes "lots of negativity" Rob. And Batchelor has been ... err ... inconsistent. What has struck me is that pretty much every meeting I've come away thinking that was a good meeting (and in a couple of cases great) something I can't say about most of the tracks I've attended regularly.

  11. Great that the Ippo fans have the pleasure of watching Doyley everyweek. He was worth the entrance fee alone when he was at the Abbey he was a pleasure to watch.I miss that very much, good luck to the Witches for the run in for the title they certainly have character as a team and battle on.

  12. Batch didn’t make a start all night!? Haha doyle made Grand Prix level starts and if we’re pulling him back for them what we saying about 4 out of 5 of Lawson’s efforts from the gate? Or did we miss his flyers through our rose tinted spectacles?? I think Doyle proved on the track when he did miss the start only to come from back and pass both worrall and Klindt with ease that him being first or last out of the gate made little difference….what lost kings lynn the meeting tonight was klindt messing around in heat 14

  14. Thanks to several teams the whole league has been a mockery this year and I can't see next year being any better. The only way the sport is going to regain any credibility, in my opinion, is to go back to a single league of a decent standard with no doubling up (or down) and teams that can't attract riders amalgamate with the NDL and hopefully bring up the standard and give young/new riders more experience. Yes I can hear riders saying they need two teams to earn a living but back before doubling up diluted the sport world class riders rode in BL div 1 for one team only and earned however they could.

If League/KO meetings would missing riders be present??????

  23. Don't you believe it. In Post Brexit Britain, just watch how creative with their visa related excused promoters are going to get. And for as long as the BSPZzz allow "facilities" for riders who are "victims" of "visa delays" the more farcical the situation will become.

  24. Other than 1 suspended rider and those that are injured, and I bet they'd all prefer to be uninjured or not suspended isn't the only one missing Hans Andersen due to a prior engagement. Maybe there should be a month of no racing so no riders cant get injured too near to the day

  25. What has happened with the pairs only reflects the current state of G.B. speedway it's in dire straights & nobody on the BSP? seems to realise. Heads in the sand!

  28. I sit in line with the start gate and some fans do tend to make a 3 course meal out of things. I think Lynn had possibly two infringments one was called back if i remember correctly, doyle maybe had one but i put it down to him being superior out of the gate, a fraction of a second delay from others can make it look like a jump start when its not If false starts are what some want to cling on to then you're due an almighty fall

  29. Obviously there are a few reasons why Berwick haven't made the play offs yet again, riders loosing form etc, one of the biggest was when Jye Etheridge started the season at reserve, many saw that as a trump card, sadly his injury in April is something never really covered or recovered from.

  32. No engine issues that I saw, the clock had counted to zero and he was still off the bike, gardening, then proceeded to get on the bike and pull further back from the tapes and adjusted clutch. Red lights came on and he then came up to tapes.

  33. Grant has certainly come out of this smelling of roses. A large creditor himself, and no sign of the GoFund money, Where is all the money he has coined in recently for the disposal of track equipment. And of course all of the food income has probably already been through his own account. Talking to someone yesterday and they thought Rob would not have lost anything given where all the loose change money that is not identified. Even got himself down as a creditor getting a share of the £6000 assets available. Rob Grant, the worst Promoter Speedway has ever had.

  34. The Prem is full of riders capable of beating each other - most of them blow hot and cold simply because of that (King and Batchelor have been perfect examples of that this season - as have several of the KL riders). KL have got riders with lots of Foxhall experience who ride the track well - so it was always going to be a tough match. Doyle will always be the difference in a match like this, because even he will admit that he shouldn't be beaten by any of the other riders on show. The Witches rode their luck, and got stuck with a bit of determination - something they haven't done anywhere near enough in recent seasons. An entertaining, although not great, speedway meeting, with a surprising result. KL will still finish Top 5, which is in the top percentile of their all time league finishes
