Why is that mascot hanging around the ambulances like a tool, he should be circulating and entertaining the kids, morbid tosser. As if Anders wants to see that buffoon as he drifts in and out of consciousness, he'll think he's hallucinating.5 points

I'm struggling to work out what's wrong with the track if anything, it's nice and wide, plenty of room entering and exiting the bends and it's smooth with just enough dirt on it. The crashes have all appeared to be rider error to me.5 points

If I hadn't spent the money on the stream my Chicken tikka Biryani with madras sauce and Peshwari naan would be arriving now4 points

His interviews and thoughts on the Halifax and Kenny Carter dvds tell you quite alot about Eric as a person.I personally never went to Halifax much more than five times but what a day out loved the track and the people.Loved the clubhouse where you could have a quiet pint and a chat and the Shay what a sight a great track and a real test for a rider.Eric/ Bonnie Boothroyd and his track staff made Halifax a great track to visit I only wish i could of visited it more.4 points

To be fair I've had no buffering at all, it just seems like a pretty amateurish presentation all round , then again it's live speedway and it's marginally better racing than last Saturday. I actually like watching speedway on banked tracks, reminds me of Halifax and Bradford, always loved going to the Shay3 points

Sam started well but as a previous post suggest flagged a bit in his last 2 rides. A courageous performance from the captain on a heavy track. Paco best rider tonight. When he didn’t come round after his last race and headed to pits I thought he was a certainty for heat 15. Poor management IMO. Castagna merited heat 15. Only dropped a point, paid 11. Manager should have put him in last heat.3 points

It breaks my heart but speedway has reached an all time low this year, I know injuries can’t be helped but overall this meeting just about sums up the sport, Newcastle closing ,cardiff last weekend, barker suspended and I hear we are just around the corner from another bad headline, where did it all go wrong ?2 points

I am going to contact the credit card company and tell them I didnt get what I paid for.. If they challenge me I will make them watch the meeting via on demand... When they have sat through it I reckon I will get thirty quid back never mind fifteen..2 points

Why are there so many ambulances there? I would've thought they would be busy on a Saturday night in Glasgow?2 points

Needs to get himself a British team spot next season in order to learn new skills. Throttle jockey Polish tracks won't teach him anything more than he already knows so he should dump the Swedish league in order to become a better rider.2 points

Crowd levels which is a real concern. Just pointing out the concerns that sports will run into next year, I would think thats relevant to any speedway club2 points

Absolutely agree. Sam shouldn’t have been out but I get the feeling he will always be given the option. Having to hug the inside line can’t have been very comfortable for his injuries either.2 points

Strange meeting I thought. Never felt the Bears were riding well but ended up only 4 points down. Track obviously very tricky early on with numerous falls and spread out racing. Kerr came good in his last 2 rides and Lawson was a good guest. Best I have seen Castagna ride and Pickering as entertaining as usual.2 points

Sad news indeed. A personal favourite from his 1960s Middlesbro' Bears days, along with Eric Boocock, Clive Hitch, Johnny Fitzpatrick, Brian McEown and Kevin Torpie at Old Meadowbank, Edinburgh. Great rider and a bit of an entertainer too - can recall him once doing handstands and walking on his hands on the Centre Green encouraged by Ian Hoskins. Many a great tussle with Dougie Templeton and others. Great memories of Eric Boothroyd.2 points

The unofficial anthem of England... Why are we playing it in Scotland? (I'm from Rye House, so I can say that)1 point

That was mentioned earlier on here. No excuse for no commentary on the stream, though.1 point

He looked to have an extra bend in his leg between his knee and ankle. Tib and Fib I'd say I think it's a poly foam fence, but I might be wrong. It's certainly quite "solid"1 point

Same here but I'm watching on my own, can't expect the wife to watch it just so I can charge her £7.50, she's never watched speedway in her life.1 point

I have as well. Only me tho. Cheaper than flying up. As in surrey. And train striks1 point

All i was told is we can’t run on 27th or 28th for reasons out the clubs control So I can assume that is conditions of the lease with the landlord , lack of medical cover because they have other bookings or local council regulations over noise because I know they were there measuring noise disturbance a few weeks ago.1 point

Amsterdam wasn't a temporary track, it was still in regular use since the late 1940's until 1987, and the 2-day World Final was the last ever speedway meeting held at the Olympisch Stadion.1 point

Could another issue be that the cost of entry to the sport is now so prohibitive that you really need rich relatives to help fund all the equipment needed to get you started. Lots watch a sport and some may think I will give that a go but the old traditional route in via grass track seems to have long gone and not many teams have local lads racing for them who have come good and the local punter can relate to them. You do not need a fortune to buy cricket gear etc. Today speedway teams are in name only as you have seven individuals racing to try and make a living. The individual riders championships are being bemoaned by many because ‘my team’s rider’ is not in it. Stick the top 16 or 20 riders with the top averages in and if one team have four or five riders so be it as in reality they are only wearing a race jacket of the paymaster And at simply self employed individuals plying their trade at any track that will have them. Not a criticism but an observation.1 point

Are we going to get any league racing at Odsal in the near future. I first started attending when Havvy left Middlesbrough & joined the Dukes. I really hope speedway can return.1 point
