  1. Persistent rain since 1 o'clock in Plymouth starting to get heavier now. Another spot on call from the Plymouth promotion

  3. Just as a simple reminder this is the Poole v Glasgow thread.

  4. Those who own the stadium have played the long game yet again and supporters get weary but nevertheless it is a sad day to see another team bite the dust. I think that supporters just have to accept the fact that very few like speedway, it is a minority sport and will never galvanise support at any level of government and local authorities have zero interest despite what many a local MP’s will spout on the odd occasion that they want some publicity to get votes come election time. Those in charge of Swindon Speedway have little say in the matter as mere tenants and at best you could say that they are very naive to believe anything other than the inevitable. I would like to think that the Robins will make a comeback but like so many before, without a lot of luck, it could be a long haul. Here’s hoping.

  5. I think the Gladiators are hanging it out so their final meeting of the season is against the Championship league winners !

  6. No as Fricke is top of the averages and has to be at number 1 then guest or R/R has to be at 1.

  7. Best wishes go out to Pete Adams.

  9. Should try staging it at the start of the 2023 season. As he deserves it, good servant to British speedway.

  10. Saw two good meetings there, both World Finals... The rest of the meetings I attended there were gate and go, one line, very fast races, one race after another... And that was in the days before the "straight line rocket ships" that exist today.. Getting 10,000 in at the NSS should be the primary objective.. ..

  11. Isn't that what happened on Sunday night when Glasgow were winning at heat six?

  12. Would do but couldnt care less… ask Plymouth riders and fans when Poole called of there meeting last minute despite forecast of rain all day

  13. The big question is . and i sure lot of people who work at dogs want to know .. Who told you the Greyhounds were Closing ? come on Terry ? Quite clearly is must have been gaming int .. so now you can show the world that they are telling porkies . Can't wait to hear the closing down statement .. going to have to change the reason i guess

  14. Transfer the franchise to Ashfield and resurrect the Giants....? To be honest this is a big concern of mine too. There is precious little encouraging pathway for junior Scottish speedway talent. In the NDL crowd levels are a secondary concern.

  15. Great move by Harris having a few dodgy meetings at the end , especially when the sample size is reduced to 10 meetings - he's obviously not as stupid as he looks

  17. Well anyone but Lawson we will have any of the others lol, in all seriousness may the best team win between you both as I have a sneaking suspicion whoever gets through is definitely going to win it.

  18. Your the one calling Mark Philips a liar when he got it spot on calling the meeting off due to a poor weather forecast .

  19. I did say FIM who control the strings for ALL GP tracks.

  20. Agreed.. But what has amazed me has been the "whimper" that they are going out on... The fans mustn't give a monkeys given their lack of fight... Always thought Swindon was still one of the few places left where decent crowds could be generated, so must have had a good following... If so. Not many seem too bothered about their club going.. Strange...

  23. That was the point I was making … indeed, what’s the point of fixed race nights if they’re not going to race regularly, as in Poland? There was a time that people claimed the clubs couldn’t survive without home meeting every week - Poland has them every other week, while the Prem teams often go two or three weeks between home fixtures. It’s bizarre that the BSPA* can’t schedule a consistent fixture list. * I don’t like to use BSPL, even though they clearly are (very) limited

  24. Providing that is real, it looks like the club themselves have now effectively waived the right to prevent any more houses being built and the stadium will no longer be built.

  25. Definitely since Scott started his TV career... Bomber was the only one left from the three guest amigo's.... Needed someone to step up and Josh has done that just fine.. Honourable mention to Tom Brennan too, early on in his "guest career" obviously, but he seems to have taken to it well.... If MPT stays injury free next season, he too will be back to add to the "guest list"...

  26. Looking at 20 pages of this p1sh and more on the Glasgow thread Im not sure its the success people resent so much.

  27. I didn't realise they would change so much . Josh is going to be in demand. I hope Alex has him signed up already. The 63-27 win last week springs to mind. We should of nicked it 46-44 . As you said it seems like it's a rare thing these days. If what Szkocjasid said is correct regarding Freddie keeping his average, a fractured toenail is in order if he's coming back next season.

  28. Should be. Rider replacement is riding really well lately and it looks like it’s him that will be guesting

  33. Because the Scunthorpe match was in summer when there were drying conditions. There is no chance of it drying on a September's evening in Glasgow. Simple as that

  35. Thought the crowd was decent considering weather forecast and BSN.I was mug enough to want to see some live action ,unfortunately.Like I said on previous Post live streaming will end up killing the Sport. Track was dry and pretty slick to start with IMo.

  36. Apparently the reason Lawson was so annoyed with the ref was the damp weather was making his hair curly

  37. Oh no, Middlo says we are the most hated. We are not sharing it

  38. This sums up how a growing number of supporters are now feeling. Only the truly committed will accept these kind of delays. A lot took the offer of a refund at the Scunthorpe meeting and possibly didn't go along last night, perhaps explaining the low turn out. It will be interesting to see how many attend the restaging whenever It is and it is to be hoped we can find a dry night. Another repeat of last night would be disastrous.

  43. and this Odsal Stadium now - still a great place for speedway - the FIM should think again
