This is also part of the problem with enforcing artificially low team averages. It's the guys in the middle order who get squeezed out every time. High average guys are kept and teams are filled out with low averages.6 points

I've always advocated allowing referees to use their discretion and allow all four back where a 'racing' incident occurs. Too often we see two riders clash as they take different lines off a bend, and come together. How many times do we hear Kelvin etc call it a 50-50, and how difficult a call it is for the ref to exclude one of them. As it stands, a rider trying to 'race' is often penalised, yet we as fans want to see RACING! I would go further, and where an incident occurs on the third or fourth lap, I would allow the ref the discretion to have a re-run with just the two who fell, and they would fight it out for the positions they were in when the race was stopped. How many times do we see a re-run where the rider who was leading by a mile ends up missing out. Should the rider who was well back in fourth spot be allowed the chance to win the race just because two at the front clashed? Allow refs to exclude where a rider has deliberately brought off another, or just made a mistake and come off, but allow riders who want to race to do so. Speedway would be the winner.5 points

Whilst watching the premiership grand final it seemed to me that the referee made all the correct decisions according to the rules but the rules maybe need amending. any incidents up to the exit of the second bend can only be dealt with either a rerun due to a unsatisfactory start or a exclusion for the cause of the stoppage. There isn’t actually a rule about first bend bunching despite being spoken about repeatedly. why not have a 50/50 no blame rerun for any incidents on the first lap which genuinely is a 50/50 incident. this would allow more 4 rider races and points to be won on the track rather than the referee exclusion light. thoughts ???4 points

Belle Vue want him. ‘Yes he may struggle initially in 1-5 but then he will go to reserve. And also he’s only 18 so really his average should only go 1 way4 points

Poole would never go with 2 two point reserves. They would be there all season, no chance of reserve swaps if one of the top 5 had an off night. Need one decent scoring reserve.4 points

Think you are wildly underestimating him. But hope he signs over here so we can see!3 points

Maybe, but watching Holder ride in Poland over the past two seasons, he has definitely worked his way back into the top 20 or so in the world I would say.. And, in my opinion, is quite a way above the level of the likes of Musielak, Kurtz, and Zagar, and even above Fricke... I would say he would be easily vying for third in the averages behind Doyle and Bewley if he rode over here... Seems to have got his "mojo" back so would be a very good signing for anyone I would suggest..3 points

Holder won’t get anywhere near Doyle’s average here. We had all this this time last year when more than one person tipped younger Holder, Kurtz and Max Fricke to all eclipse Doyle this year, and none of them got remotely close.3 points

Has been muted elsewhere, though, that as the boy doesn’t yet drive, being in the same team would help with transport logistics.2 points

As far as I’m concerned, I would put Harris’s previous season with us down as a blip……and would have him back in a heartbeat.2 points

Given that in 2022 Chris Holder had a higher average than Woffinden, Doyle, Bewley and Jack Holder in Poland, and Janowski, Dudek and Lindgren in Sweden I'd suggest he's hardly a spent force.2 points

Chris Harris won't be at Glasgow. Glasgow management aren't going to splash out 8.75 points on a rider who let them down drastically just a couple of years ago. 14.77 left for 3 riders imo. Benjamin Basso 8.52 Tom Brennan 6.71 Claus Vissing 5.00 Marcin Nowak 5.002 points

You have beat me to it. Absolutely brilliant foiled crump on every bend. He was fuming1 point

Wouldn’t get too hung up on ages either. Hume may be 26 but he was a late starter in Speedway. At the same age, Jason Doyle with more years experience was a 5 pointer. Everyone is different.1 point

95% of riders mentioned should not be riding in the league ,it's the national development league not a league for any Tom divk or Harry1 point

TJ a massive mistake on that average, but like you say, would always have a decent reserve, and you have 3 good young riders too, as well as Starke who would be able to put a point or 2 on if he stayed fit imo. But I’ve heard Jesper isn’t coming to Britain this season.1 point

I think with Pearson look at his results in polish U24 league, seemed to score well in most meetings out there so definitely a quality rider in there. After a season learning British tracks wouldn't be shocked if he puts 3 points on his actual average, get to 5.5/61 point

Rumour mill from contacts who support or know insiders at PB. If Glasgow had gone up Brennan was nailed on I was told and may not be a dead option even now. Bomber wants a Midweek Track to optimise Weekend on Long/Grass Tracks, based where he now is and dislike of the Track puts him off Plymouth so toss up Brummies or Oxford. Sedgeman might go to Glasgow IF Tom was loaned out. Howarth , Starke are going elsewhere. Hadn't heard anything about Nick Morris but i can see the logic in it. Complin a strong possibility and possibly Paco coming back (even though Edinburgh still in League as ideal again midweek option). The other possibility if free would be Danny King.1 point

I'm not so sure about Pearson. Even if he puts 1.5 on his "actual" 2022 average he'd still finish below his 4.00 starting figure!1 point

My money would be on Keynan Rew (19) or Tate Zischke. I've said plenty on Keynan who I think would be a good signing on a 5. As for Tate, I think he is only 17 and think available on a 4 ??. He is highly recommended by Darcy Ward and just learned he won the new South Wales U21 Title at the weekend. Also had i believe looking at Youtube a short stint riding in Danish Lge 1 in 2022, (the lower league used by many young Danes) and I think even Brady Kurtz rode in it in his first year in Europe. Darcy's comment about Tate was that he reminds him a lot of how he was at same age. That's got to make anyone sit up and listen . I'd happily take both of them as arguablly the brightest U18 and U23 Aussie talents coming through along with Pearson who will be at Brum.1 point

Can't really agree with that given he was riding champ with Peterborough the season before1 point

No brainer for me. Little P has had a season to acclimatise, showed real signs of talent and will definitely up that average in 2023. I've heard so many rumours but think Sedgeman is pretty much nailed on to return. Not as sure as I was about Pickering but think Tom Brennan might be one to watch out for and possibly Bomber.1 point

Me too. I was just saying that Sheffield don't have a reason to drop Ellis when the core of the 2022 team would've won the Double last season if it wasn't for Babs lol. Holder will do a Doyle in this league imo.1 point
