Spot on, has not wanted to know this country the last few years, not even bothered with the British final for god knows how long, now he wants to top up his pension pot...5 points

The UK gave up Thursday's as a priority race night in return for the chance to get top riders riding over here.. The very same top riders who now end up riding in Poland on the Thursday's that the UK no longer has any priority on... We must have driven a hard bargain.. Just run these national championship meetings on the ONE night that fhe UK has priority for.. Obviously, you may have to factor in the odd severe strain of food poisoning going around in Poland on the Sunday before....4 points

Armadale Stadium is easy to find once you realise it’s 25 mile from Edinburgh.!!!4 points

Me too, when he was in his pomp and world champion he could have done so much for the sport in this country, he had the image to connect with the younger generations and create media headlines. Of course he was nowhere to be seen and now sees the UK as a top up to his pension pot now his star has waned. Compare to Jason Doyles loyalty to speedway in this country,4 points

This is why the SCB statement is total nonsense. Wolves released there meeting preview Sunday afternoon with Bomber in as a guest so it’s irrelevant when the programmes where printed. Its now pretty much common knowledge that Artem was never going to ride at Wolves, the Wolves Sunday press release confirms that. Why oh why are the SCB making themselves look foolish given what is already known in the public domain? Those in power stink.4 points

Woffinden knows his World Championship hopes are over and his SGP days numbered, so he needs a couple of seasons or so with an easy pay night. The British league will do that, he just needs a daft club to give him the daft money.4 points

As Leicester season ticket holders who have travelled the country watching speedway for the last 54 years, my wife & I have decided we will not be paying out over the top entrance fees for a watered down stocking filler of a meeting like this. If the top Premier league riders can't be arsed, then neither can we. More proof if proof is needed, that however much you try, you really can't polish a t*rd.3 points

To be fair I just want to see good racing whoever is in a meeting, and I’m sure there will be tomorrow with the Leicester track being better than it’s been in a long time. missing the top riders is nothing new when it comes to shared events, it’s a way of life here3 points

Or you could look at it like any fan up and down the country has for years and seen the only way speedway in the uk was heading was downwards, woffy would’ve clearly seen the way it was being run badly as it has for the past 15+ year and when he was winning his world titles it was him alone with an embarrassing Chris Harris or Nicholls struggling to get a handful of points each gp, you can’t lay the blame on him for the way speedway has been mismanaged over here. It’s only the last few years we’ve had the youth days and the gb training camps which woffy has been involved in as well as glasgow and a host of other people, if they hadn’t bothered I dread to think what state we would be in because the people in charge have no interest in setting anything up like this.3 points

Playing Devil's Advocate here. In my working career I was trained by Rolls Royce (a GREAT company to work for BTW) as an apprentice and paid a wage whilst doing so. Similar to a NL rider. At the end of my apprenticeship, I was taken on as a full time machinist and paid a great deal more than my apprenticeship wage. Similar to NL rider progressing to be a CL and/or PL rider. If another company offered me, (now with a young family to support), a vastly increased wage to induce me to leave RR would I have changed jobs? Of course I would. Wouldn't you?3 points

True but Woffinden was in a position to help the sport from his position of being a British world champion with the personality to promote the sport nationally and connect with the younger generations the sport badly needs to attract, im not blaming him for the sport being mismanaged but he could have done a lot more to help the situation considering his standing. The sport is still badly run but apparently he has no problem coming back to top up the pension pot, he would have made a far greater impact as a current world champion, opportunity missed.2 points

My son and I are absolutely gutted. Ages ago we made the plan to attend this meeting thinking about Doyle and Sayfutdinov, then Laguta etc. Just so sad that British Speedway has reached "beyond a joke" status. That's 2 admission tickets that won't be getting bought for this event.2 points

It's not as good as it was but we should be grateful to still see the Star on sale at places like Morrison's, Sainsbury's, Asda, and Smiths, such a minority sport nowadays. The recent Motor Cycle News has pages of speedway news.2 points
-
Do you really think Wolves would ask the printer to delay printing their programmes, just in case there was a line-up change - seriously?!2 points
-
I admire your enthusiasm, and your commitment with BSN - even so, it's a complete joke that Sayfutdinov and Laguta were never going to ride, but nobody bothered to tell the fans. The final section of your second sentence shows how disingenuous the BSPA/L have been.2 points

If that happens can see it only being at Birmingham (if they're still running) for a season. Can't see in the time remaining how they can put together all the facilities required for a new track.2 points

If you’re going to lie, you have to be good at it - Kings Lynn/Buster either isn’t good at it or he literally gives that little care nowadays that even he can’t be bothered to lie properly. All the Kings Lynn socials and website said that Artem was injured and now we find out it’s food poisoning. It really is laughable.2 points

The Star used to pay track 'stringers' for a match report (the mag provided the scoring and heat details) and a piece based on follow-up quotes and/or news. In common with most magazines, payment didn't amount to very much - but it was better than nothing, particularly if you were being paid already, by your full-time employer, to report on a meeting. I assume ditching the match reports - main reason I used to buy the magazine when a spectating or reporting regular - was a cost-cutting exercise. I gather the Star - how low must its circulation figure be these days? - now has just one full-time employee.2 points

It's a shame he's considering coming back because of travel issues to Sweden rather than missing riding in the UK.2 points

Think your spelling of the last word is incorrect, I believe the correct spelling is - Bollocks2 points

Have to say - I am not a fan of teh way the results are set out in the magazine. I was trying to compile some stats from last season and the results are scattered across pages - so, cup finals \or semi finals are separated onto their own page . I do much prefer the old(er) format where they were all together in date order with a succinct report. Also, add to me to the list of 'not a fan of the covers'. And where are the team photos?2 points

I'm indifferent to this, never warmed to him and of course it's now that it suits him2 points

What an absolute disgrace Kings Lynn and Buster Chapman are. Laguta listed as injured on the weekend and a guest swiftly sorted out then he goes and rides on Sunday in Poland? Pathetic. The sport is in a dire mess and Chapman being allowed to behave how he is, fielding under strength teams week in week out at both of his clubs, is disgusting. The quicker he f***s off out the sport, the better. I think it is time that the sport had a major shake up and reformatting. Its in a dire , dire state with complete w**kers in power. Phil Morris never took any nonsense in his riding days so hopefully he has a similar attitude towards British Speedway.2 points

You said the date was decided before any line-up was known ... well, they knew there would be no Laguta or Sayfutdinov. Although it's a shame Louis agreed with Sayfutdinov that he wouldn't have to ride in the Pairs, it's very disappointing that Louis didn't tell supporters. There was a buzz amongst Witches fans about Doyle & Sayfutdinov in the Pairs. Oh well - at least the Ipswich pairing will get support from Redcar fans1 point

Clearly this particular rule needs to be amended and instead of a 7 day ban which may cover no meetings it should be a certain number of matches regardless of when they are ridden as per the football disciplinary process1 point
-
It is convention for people watching the Live Updates to mention directly to the updater that there's an error - rather than going on to a chat room and moaning. Errors are made and corrected on a regular basis. Unlike Tatummerr, the texters and updaters aren't paid.1 point

"Mr Laguta had suffered from food poisoning and was unable to travel to the UK and advised to rest for a period of at least 2 days" The ban doesn't extend as far as Poland... we're only shooting ourselves in the foot on this occasion. Anyway looks like he went against doctors advice and decided to go for a run1 point

I think a lot of fans have already made a stand by not attending anymore1 point

Woffinden is definitely on the downward slope, knows he’s been left behind at world level now and will need a ‘pick’ is he’s to continue in SGP (Monster Joe will be pleading his case to keep their sponsored riders in the competition), he’s simply using the UK as an easy option, if he came in on an 8 (ish) average I can see him maintaining that, he’d be well behind the likes of Doyle, Sayfutdinov, Bewley, Kurtz, Holder, Musielak, Fricke to name a few in the averages. Gone are the days when he’ll add numbers to the gate1 point

Personally I think he may end up at Oxford with Sam if we not riding next year.1 point

Used to love the old Speedway Stars when the front cover was just a plain and simple affair with iconic photos on the front and rear cover. Just the Speedway Star banner and nothing else. Around the tracks gave you the opportunity to view all the detailed results along with a meeting report, always an interesting read. Plus the averages which appeared in league formation so you knew where each of the top riders were ranked in the averages. Easy to read league tables with no complicated scoring system. Seems then that I much preferred reading the old Stars than todays modern format but that's just my personal opinion.1 point
