For me the Witches rider of the night was Dan Thompson - deserved an extra ride rather than being taken out13 points

That’s exactly the kind of thing Doyle has been accused of “dropping it” in the GP’s when he’s come under pressure.5 points

Two riders neck and neck on the final bend and tbey cut to the leader crossing the line. I literally leant to the right to try and see what was happening off screen. This is what Eurosport has done to me.5 points

Have any of you moaning about the ref ever risked your lives reffereeing for our entertainment...?4 points

Quite understandable but weather forecasts are now beginning to impact on attendances and often they are well off the mark4 points

I just felt that this needed to be a separate topic... I know that after yesterday, a few people were questioning Jason Doyle's ability, but I have witnessed some really bizarre stuff on some of the Facebook groups. It seems that people really don't think he's good enough to be in the GP's. I just responded to a comment on there from somebody questioning his participation. I said that while he had a bad day yesterday, he has had a great year. Her response was, "he's not consistent enough!" Really? Four finals in six events? That's not consistent? Another idiot suggested that NONE of the riders outside the Top Six should be allowed back the following year, and should be replaced by newcomers! I know some of you question the wildcards, but really? The World number 7 isn't good enough to be in the GP's, and should be replaced by somebody who is probably nowhere near GP standard? Are there really 10 other riders who would be able to "compete" in the GP's?3 points

Stays fit and he guarantees himself an Ekstraliga medal at the end of the year, if you think he’s gonna go for a do or die move riding for a team in disarray towards the bottom of the league you’ll be in for a shock. That’s the sad reality of it.3 points

Harsh on Doyle, but bewley at the NSS is never getting excluded there.3 points

Don't know why King gets so much stick,7pts away from home against the league leaders isn't too bad imo.King seems to get a lot of stick,7pts away from home against the league leaders i don't think is too bad imo.Now Doyle on the other hand 5pts has cost Ipswich the match.3 points

I agree with 95% of this post, it was a brilliant meeting and well done to Conner, but I believe as a club we need to cater for the younger generation if we want them to grow up supporting Speedway. We spoke to one young lad yesterday afternoon who was there for the first time and he absolutely loved every minute of the meeting.3 points

If there is a top 100 list of reasons why speedway is going downhill I can comfortably reassure you that referees making bad decisions does not make it anywhere near that list.2 points
-
Ipswich ran the Aces closer than I thought. The best team won in the end but the referee nearly spoilt it for everyone. Luckily the bad decisions just about evened out, but that's no excuse for incompetency of that level. Doyle wasn't to blame for Bewley's fall and Wright hardly moved a centimetre - do the refs get assessed? If so, tonight should warrant a demotion. On a positive note, Emil Sayfutdinov goes up in my estimation every time I've seen him this season - a racer right to the end.2 points

We lost again not because of King, but because we’re continuing to carry an unfit 6 point man who is contributing next to nothing.2 points
-
Bewley dropped further down than Doyle ran up The gap was there and Doyle went through More contact from Wright there but Emil stayed up2 points

Right, it's the World Championship; it's not a training scheme to blood up-and-coming riders!2 points

That's what i like to see,a throwback to the old days where fans could familiarise who's who really.Would like to see more of this.2 points

Personally speaking I hope those responsible are dealt with and then reported to the Police.2 points

so do you think taking a drugs test is optional in speedway?..simple yes or no would suffice in your answer.2 points

Even for you, that’s a mad one. You don’t like Poole. We know that. You think it’s funny misspelling the name. We know that. But to put something positive on a thread that involves Poole about a retired rider who rode for Rye House, juniors and seniors, Mildenhall, Eastbourne, Coventry, Swindon, Berwick, Lakeside, Ipswich and Plymouth (I’ve probably missed one or two) as well as Birmingham and Poole seems as if your final marble has been lost. Please revert to type and start being rude about Poole again. You being positive is just not normal2 points

Because we would be deluged with SCB press releases saying rider x tested negative for drugs and rider y has a legal sized engine. Neither of these are newsworthy2 points

Kubera, Drabik, Sayfutdinov, Laguta, Pedersen, theres a few others that would shake it up!! im sure the response will be that there not as good but who would of thought Holder Bewley etc would be in the top 6 in the world when they entered....2 points

Not one of his best tracks? Look at his record in the Peter Craven Meetings. I think he will do better than you think.2 points

A quick look at today's fixtures & I see a way back into play-off contention. Witches win at Belle Vue, Stars win at Leicester and Panthers win at Wolverhampton - what could be simpler2 points

Nothing wrong with the original plan Then Rew cracked his back - I've no doubt this has had some impact on his subdued progress to date Thomas got injured before a wheel was turned Riss hasn't been right from the off Those 3 situations have imo cost 5-6 points a match The biggest issue has been how the unfortunate developments have been handled. Principles and loyalty are positive virtues but don't always make the best job of plugging vital gaps in a team to keep it winning2 points

This is my point exactly, open up more qualifying spots & less seeded places & you'll get more different riders like Kim Nilsson (who 100% deserves his place) in the GPs each year. They may not be one of the best 15 riders in the world, they may not be what the organisers want, but they will be the most deserving - having qualified!2 points

Last two meetings he as ridden well - pleased for him - must have been hard coming into to replace his brother and with all the difficulties etc - be interesting to see if he can keep this going on Thursday - for now he is doing excatly what is needed of him anyway - weakness elsewhere is the issue for not winning!1 point

Lol I think all we want is decent refs Doyle should never have gone and Wright should never have been excluded ….. I’m an Ipswich fan but a speedway fan first so I’d like to think I’m not biased lol1 point
-
People that don’t understand speedway or watch Ipswich regularly won’t understand the frustration with King Ok winning heat 15 against a reserve but costs us at vital parts of the meeting1 point
-
King and Riss yet again letting the team down If every fan can see this why can’t the management No matter what Doyle and Emil do we will lose out in heats 12 and 141 point

This weekend, almost certainly yes. But behind cricket and horse racing, and in terms of general interest still behind football. In the football season, a BSB round will be behind all the premiership and championship games and international sports like F1 when it comes to TV audience. Fans attending in person doesn't really matter in a lot of ways, it's all about the overall audience. Touring Cars are also typically more popular than superbikes. Rugby is also ahead in the popularity stakes too, as well as cycling. My point is that it is no conspiracy. Foggy was all over the press when he won a TV show watched by 9 million people. That's 9 million people buying your newspaper or clicking on your website. Foggy did get some mainstream coverage when winning world superbikes, but at peak the audience at Brands Hatch was a claimed 120,000. That's a lot less than 9,000,000. I'm not saying its right, but it is what it is. Speedway either has to pay to be featured in the mainstream media, or else it needs to have a big enough audience to be (commercially) worth their while to cover. Media cover the things they think are popular, because that's what pays the bills. WSL is a bit in the middle though. There is an appetite for women's football, as shown by the world cup viewing figures and the popularity of some of the personalities in the game.1 point

Key thing here though is confidence and momentum... and Leicester have it abundance right now. Personally I think Laguta will do well to get to 10 from 5 rides... Potential for 3 races vs Fricke, another with Bomber likely all over him and Lawson no slouch, so as much as it would be great as a spectacle to be close, I can't see it.1 point

Leon's never been very good at ashfield, was alluded to by Greg Blair I noticed when watched meeting back last night. But losing to Gilkes and hagon who, to my recollection, had never seen the place was pretty poor. Hopefully it's just a stagnation year and he kicks on again, bit like tom Brennan had last year1 point

Aye, let’s stuff the kids (the future supporters by the way) who really enjoy the centre green race just because you’re bored for 15 minutes of your life……..SELFISH!1 point

I would not want the job either. Thank you for your explanations - you obviously know the Poole track better than I do. I was only giving my opinion on the track conditions as I saw them on that night. The rotating grader may be worth a try sometime subject to financial constraints.1 point

I don't think he's ever denied his allegiances towards Australia has he? He literally spends all winter in Australia guiding a lot of these kids - yet you expect him to give his money to a British kid he's never worked with before?1 point
