Wish they would take the batteries out of that drone . It looked like cartoon speedway last night . It's even worse than the annoying helmet cam13 points

I think that Australia should replace Fricke. He only scored 4 after all. Any country with a rider who can only score 4 should replace him straight away. Does Chris Harris have any Aussie ancestry as GB don’t seem to want him8 points

Bit disrespectful of the Finnish manager to pronounce his riders names properly, rather than the mangled Tatum pronounciations8 points

Because Speedway in Poland is all about the team, when "the team" isn't involved you get crowds like you do in this country. it's why their league Speedway works, no made up the day before teams, full of guests, R/R's and double uppers. It's what the BSPL just don't seem to understand8 points

Thomsen shows that even when there's contact, the rider can stay on and doesn't have to fall deliberately, credit to him.6 points

Wroclaw is a great race track every other Sunday... When Phil and the GP/SWC team get there they work their magic... And it becomes crap.... Why is Phil directing the track prep anyway? Let the Wroclaw lads do it, like they do every fortnight...5 points

They would have got a much better crowd by hosting last nights meeting over the border in Germany for instance. Hardly a big deal for logistics etc. Tonights meeting in Denmark , then move to Poland for the last two meetings. 4 meetings in a week in one country is never going to work for crowds or the track5 points

For the umpteenth time- tac subs when a team is 6 points behind the leading team - 1 ride only per rider. Only up to heat 16. No 5 can replace another team member at any time and can have 5 rides plus a Tac Sub ride.( Same. Max as other riders)5 points

When Rye House moved into the Premiership I saw a bloke I know and he said “amazing, we get to see Chris Harris every week,” as we had signed him. I told him we’d actually been short changed, even if we’d not signed Harris we’d still have seen him most weeks.4 points

In Steve's defence, it's usually The Toad that kicks things off. Has to be the most argumentative person on this forum!4 points

So Denmark led from start to finish. Aussies needed two TS and a an exclusion to get back into it, but Tatum and Louis reckon they won by the skin of there teeth3 points

Possibly the weirdest graphic ever - individual scores in a team meeting3 points

It's in the SCB rule book, but basically it's the same laws applying to every drone in the UK which is they have to be flown at least 150 metres away from gatherings of people.3 points

The change in the GB set up from beer and pizzas to the current professionalism has shown it’s value. We struggled for so long as a nation to provide any impact and now we have eclipsed Sweden and may well also eclipse Australia and Denmark. Although Adam Ellis’s score was less than some wanted, (though few expected different) his heat 1 win against the current World’s second best rider set GB up for a positive night when we were never headed. I am sure he’s already analysed what went wrong and is working within the team - fellow riders, team managers, sports specialists and engine tuner to help him improve on Saturday. Flying in a substitute rider now, whoever that might be, has the potential to undermine the whole team on the grounds of “we don’t believe the group of people who have got GB to the final are the right group, so need to make a change” I don’t believe for one moment that dropping Adam and bringing in a replacement will suddenly make GB a gold medal team. Time will tell…..3 points

Good decision. I had a little spat with him a few months back & his responses became completely illogical.3 points

I'm all for trying new things but no into the drone either, certainly not the way they're using it from behind. Makes me feel seasick watching it. Never seen any worthwhile footage from helmet/ bike cam either3 points

Someone needs to create a thread just so you two can argue on it, and save us all having to read it. It's relentless, and on multiple threads - both of you have to have the last word. It's like two kids (which I'm sure neither of you are, so should know better) fighting over the last sweet. GIVE IT A REST.3 points

I think he would. There wasn’t that much competition. It’s all about opinions.3 points

Would that be the same Worrall who is 35th in the league with a 6.00 average, whilst Ellis is 3rd with 10.00?3 points

Spot on. The OTTness is probably no surprise when you see some of the people posting it. All things considered I thought Ellis and Brennan were the correct choices from the squad, whoever you bring in now is unlikely to do any better and Ellis has now had a meeting on the track, might be better to keep him in. I'd be sticking one of the big guns at reserve though.3 points

What a terrible advert for Speedway racing tonight, it was like watching speedway from Poole2 points

Gosh, that's a lot of assumptions to make based on what I wrote! I've always been a Tai supporter. I've followed his career from the start and even bought his book. I've got tattoos myself (not as many as Tai though I must admit) and I don't even know what MMA is so I won't judge him on that either. It seems to be the general tactic these days for people to brand any opinion different to their own as 'hate' motivated but I can assure you that's not the case. As I said, I made an objective opinion based on what I saw. You don't have to hate or dislike someone to think they made an error of judgement you know.2 points

We'll agree to disagree. I wouldn't necessarily disagree with a change but I'm pretty sure the difference it makes would be negligible. Facts don't work with the pro-pugwash agenda2 points

The argument about who should be picked for the GB team seems to centre around who was willing to take part (now or in the past) and the fact that this competition is "in Poland". I can't speak to the first factor so I'll stick to the squad that 's been announced. Tai, in interview, indicated how different the Wroclaw track is from the other tracks in Poland. I was dismayed to see immediately after this interview, a track as slick as a badger's bum. But (no pun) after extensive work after heat 4 and later, the track started to improve. In particular, those skilled at the outside run e.g. Dan, managed to make outside runs to come from behind. Seeing this, in the second half of the meeting, I was thinking how valuable Bomber would have been at reserve.2 points

Thought Ellis did well in the two he scored points in but as soon as the track changed a little and he was off 2/3 he didn’t look like quick enough to challenge. Thats where the managers should have given Brennan a run for me, he did very well to come in so late and make an impact.2 points

Sensible early call not one hopeful forecast. Poor Neil left Long Eaton at 3 am this morning on National Express and is on his way. Hope he reads its off and can jump off the coach!2 points

Meeting is now postponed. Poole Speedway is taking no chances with the weather and have made the early decision to postpone tonight's (Wednesday 26th July) fixture against Birmingham and are presently working on a restaging date. Explaining his decision, Poole promoter Dan Ford said "we have examined all of the various weather forecasts and there is nothing to be optimistic about and we really don't want to waste people's time and money, so hopefully making an early decision will not cause too much inconvenience. It is a real punch in the guts for us as it is the first week of the summer holidays and we were looking set for a bumper crowd" All pre-booked tickets will be refunded in in due course. The Pirates next action is on Sunday (30th July) when they make their second visit to Glasgow in the space of nine days, this time in the quest for valuable league points.2 points

Are you a troll or just blind stupid??? Lawson and Worrall are not riding at Poole and would do as bad as Ellis Do us all a favour and shut up2 points

Ahem...that observation is open to all sorts of conjecture considering many others on here don't appear to have issues with many of my posts but, hey, that's the end of it as far as I'm concerned much to the delight of others on here I'm sure. Time to move on.2 points

I definitely think there are no 'special' meetings these days. Without sounding like an old biffer, I grew up watching 1980s National League speedway. Most weeks there was a rider you wanted to see and a few times a year there would be a really big meeting, with some big stars you'd never usually see at your local track. Now it feels like it is the same riders week after week, and there's no special nights. Speedway has many problems, most of which are grassroots issues and not about the 'survival of the Premiership' but one issue I think they have is the inability of a promoter to develop and promote their own product. The cartel means they all have to serve up the same tripe as each other. I'd love promoters to be able to put on their own shows. Based in a holiday resort... forget league racing and serve up entertainment for the tourists. Only got limited access to your venue... run the events that work in your area. I've always said speedway's a bizarre example of a team sport (it's seven individuals who roughly wear the some colours, and when you add up how much they score you get a winning 'team') but I also accept there is an audience for it. But stuff like touring teams, legend teams, Harlem Globetrotters etc. are all part of the show. Speedway could learn so much from other sports, like the pro and development tours in darts, the pantomime of wrestling and the progression structures (and club racing scenes) of other motorsports, but giving promoters the freedom to do (or at least experiment) what works in their market could at least give British speedway an opportunity to survive. It won't survive on the bland and outdated bilge that is league racing. To quote Kelvin Tatum 'No doubt about that'2 points

His average is relatively healthy as he's almost guaranteed 4 points minimum each meeting, just from beating Riss and Thompson/Hume who are all struggling. Then he has the two other reserves to beat meaning he will usually get 6 without breaking a sweat. The odd decent trap at home will mean he'll beat most no 4's in ht 3 and the odd race win in 12 at home giving him 7/8 points for little effort. Means he looks like he's scoring well and hitting a decent average but the reality is he's not beating anyone of note to justify a 'heat leader' role.2 points
