Doesn't Lawson not get on with Richie Worrall cos Worrall was having a go on Lawsons mrs or something like that when they were both at Glasgow? Good to see Steve Worrall get a wild card, feel like its injuries that have held him back some what . Am no fan of Ellis or his old man but those comments from Hawk are disgusting.6 points

Thankfully Berwick have gone back to the tried and tested successful way of running a team with at least three reserves in it. I suspect a march up the league starts on Friday at Glasgow.3 points

Whoosh. Maybe I should have added a wink emoji, but I assumed people wouldn’t take it seriously.3 points

It is unfair having the BF at the NSS every year as the lightest riderx have a big advantage over the rest becssue it all about speed not track craft. They should have it around the country at different tracks instead.... You can only presume Leicester would be his choice, as that is the only track he can ride better than most it appears. His brother did a great job last night in conditions that you would usually think would have impacted him, given gating and doing well on slick tracks is his MO.. Maybe Steve has cut the carbs out for a fortnight...? Hope the meal was enjoyable, the racing in really testing conditions definitely was.. Not the names and level of rider that the flagship competition should have fighting for it, but those who accepted the call, did a superb job last night, and did the sport proud.. And some of those who had to pass up the chance to be the UK's No1, given the conditions, probably for the best, stayed away so the rest could get on with it... The way the sport is heading in this country, there could be a fair few more opportunities for riders to enjoy 3 course meals instead of racing in the not too distant future... Hope they enjoy them... Salads only on the menus though, obviously.....3 points

I put on the AEPG Peterborough Facebook the following: Could AEPG answer the following question please, " have AEPG discussed or agreed with Mr Keith Chapman to not support the Peterborough Speedway to run at the EoES for season 2024 in return for compensation / the purchase of the Speedway Club” Not had a response but not surprised by that.2 points

Great meeting all things considered when it was chucking it down at 7.25. Thought the track came into its own and wasn’t the gate and go a lot of people expected. Congrats to Dan on another title and to Stevie for getting the wildcard. Might shut the other worrall up for a bit. Even on a different track like the moaners are wishing, I can only imagine Dan would clean up again. His ability to just turn it on when he needs to is ridiculous. The pass on Brennan and then his first 2 corners in the final were just exquisite. Had a few concerns about the line up throughout the day but thought it was a decent enough field. Although I do think that other than the defending champ, there should be a qualification process so we get the truly best 16 riders GB has to offer at the time.2 points

Fair play to everyone for getting this meeting on, at 7.30 i didnt think there was a hope in hell it would go ahead Dan B a deserved winner, but made up Stevie got the wildcard for Cardiff, one of the sports nice guys2 points

Not just YOUR opinion. Vaculik should finish Top 6. Despite all the negative Nancies on here, Doyle has clearly proven himself one of the top boys still, and I would be surprised if he didn't finish Top 6. Likewise, I'm convinced that Holder would have finished Top 6 were it not for his injury, so there's another automatic choice.2 points

All-in-all a more than decent meeting. Congratulations to all 17 riders who rode and gave it everything. Well done too to the track staff and everyone involved in organising a good meeting against the odds on a track that was not just rideable, but raceable too. All the moaners with their "should have called it off" and "it's a disgrace of a line-up" were made to look silly. 16 fully-committed riders... brilliant. Not always been a fan of Ben Barker (e.g. I wouldn't buy anything off his ebay shop) but I had to smile at his interview on the track mic "I'm always proud to pull on a Union Jack race jacket, and I will always want to ride in the British Final... even though I'm fat". Nice to see Richie Worrall in the Peter Craven suite tucking into his cheesecake. The three-course meal was a better choice than riding in the meeting. After all, how could Richie be expected to compete against the top three - The six-stone Dan Bewley, the five-stone Ben Barker, and that guy in second place who is definitely not the same height, weight, size and shape as Richie Worrall? Wonder if Richie's meal was a spare that was left over when the BSPL Chairman couldn't be arsed turning up for the meeting?2 points

This is a potential banana skin for Poole. Over confident after a super heat away win at Redcar. Bears on a good run which is likely to be extended at Plymouth on Tuesday evening. Worrall’s focus now elsewhere. Thompson an unknown at number 7. An away win wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest.2 points

You're needlessly slagging off his son. That makes it his business. Adam may not be your favorite rider but you are being incredibly unpleasant about it. The man already won this title once. Show some respect.2 points

I'm a massive fan of Simon Lambert what he lacks (possibly) in talent he more than makes up for in attitude, effort and commitment... there's a lot of Speedway riders (even some of the big time Charlie's) that could learn a thing or two from him!2 points

Simon has passed his final assessment, and is now a Referee. He is on a probationary status where he takes full charge of a meeting with an established Referee (Paul Carrington tonight?) also in attendance, but not necessarily in the Referees box.1 point

Well, what is the point of only having top 6 if nr 7 and 8 always will get a wild card anyway?1 point

I cannot see why every rider cannot be tested before a meeting and not just the odd one now and again. I used to work on very large construction sites and EVERY person on site was D&A tested before they could start on said site. When the site was up and running EVERY new starter was tested before they went out onto the site, if they refused they didn't start end of story. Before being tested they were asked 1) when did they last have alcohol 2) have they taken anything that might not allow them to pass the test and 3) a list of any prescribed medication they are taking. Also there was a computer that gave out random names each day for routine testing and these could be anyone on site from machine operator, to a receptionist to the site manager They then peed in a special test pot which was then sealed, snapped into the crystals below and shook up and depending on the colour it turned showed a positive or negative reading. Negative reading ........ carry on working Positive reading ...... you were sent home to wait for further testing of the sample to be carried out. This involved pouring the sample into two sample jars that were labelled A and B and the person was offered either of the jars to take away and have tested themselves if they wished. The sample was then sent away to the labs for more vigorous tests with the results normally back within 48 hours of test giving what the failure was or the fact that the person was taking a combination of prescribed medicines that gave a failed test result so was ok. Mind you most people who failed expected to and just said ok bye. What I am saying is that basic D&A testing kits are relatively inexpensive and could be carried out by the stadium doctor / paramedic so riders would know and expect to be tested prior to a match. If a rider has nothing to hide then they have nothing to worry about.1 point

Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Nicolai. Was the shining light in the last couple of months for Lynn, whilst the team were really struggling he scored really well, probably more than many of us imagined really. This will obviously be a long while on the sidelines but hopefully he will get fit and comeback stronger. The curse of Kings Lynn really had some big injuries this year,as well as the other ongoing things which have happened.A year to forget that's for sure.1 point
