  1. I wonder if batch would have been pulling wheelies at the back if Stewart Dickson had been present ??? and if so what Stewart’s reaction have been when he returned to the pits. Both Batch and Craig cook need to decide if they want to continue riding speedway then they either give it everything or give up. This half hearted efforts do them or the promotions no good at all.

  2. I’d rather see a youngster trailing round last and giving it go than him taking my hard earned money for just turning up when he feels like it.

  3. Congratulations to Glasgow on their win. Just like the CLRC at Redcar a few days ago its sad to see riders either pulling out or just not wanting to race in the first place, you would think that riders would do everything possible to represent their club and the fans of that club who support them through the season. Alas it appears not. As for the antics from Troy Batchelor, I`m surprised anyone is surprised anymore.

  4. Personally think Phil does a good job, otherwise you would be there all night with the riders and mechanics antics with bikes anytime there is re run.

  7. A mention to the track staff and organisation because they were under the pump after last years shambles (rightly so) and they produced a very good track tonight.

  12. Wow the trophies were pretty embarrassing just a bit of plastic

  13. I see no expense spared on the throphies for the meeting, the supposed premier GP! Had better trophies at the national kids BMX meetings in the late 80's.

  15. Anyone know if Bartek can still quailify for the semi? I am still trying to work out if 8 points beats 7, and will it need s count back..

  17. Is there any way someone can keep Kelvin and Chris inforned on who is through and who isn't? It would be awfully helpful.

  18. I think it's to keep the number of stewards required to a minimum.

  19. I can’t stand Lindgren, consistently just clears other riders out, there’s hard racing and then there’s that.

  20. Seriously what did people expect with the crowd numbers after last years debacle and other factors? Stop whinging and let’s hope it’s a good meeting, the crowd will be back if that happens.

  21. I am reliably informed that the comments on the AEPG Facebook page and the PCC planning applications website are causing problems for the company as pretty much all the comments are objections to the application. A few are thinking the Facebook page will shortly be removed due to the flak they are currently getting so any help from other supporters will be greatly appreciated, it’s important because a lot is going on behind the scenes and it’s in no way a foregone conclusion that this application will be approved and even if it is it will take quite a few years to get off the ground. Please mention in any comments the 53 year history and heritage of Peterborough Speedway and the fact that this planning application fails the PCC local plans LP30 and LP36. PCC LP30 refers to the fact that the loss of any existing leisure and sports facilities will not be supported unless replacement facilities are provided in accordance with policy LP30. PCC LP36 refers to the fact that no plans will be approved for more than 650 dwellings on the Showground, AEPG current plans are for 1500 dwellings. The aim is to continue at the Showground which will give the club time to relocate if necessary without any break in speedway, at the moment AEPG won’t even agree to a meeting or talk about the likelihood at all past 2023.

  24. U21 World title about 2005. Some Czech rider who rode for Redcar & Poole lost the ballot I think. Tomas Suchanek... rings a bell. Was hopeless on these shores. Just got home, enjoyed the racing later on. Peterborough err Glasgow deserved to win. Only pair that rude as a team all night Wright was very good but he left King in the final chasing the win after they were both well in front of Harris King refused to move off the white line all night. Batchelor didn't try, Lawson didn't in his first two rides. Howarth was poor.

  25. Exactly. The coin toss simply decided which team was in which semi as they were tied in pretty much every way. Pretty simple stuff. A certain person is acting like it decided the outcome of the meeting.

  26. I'm afraid that is not Ianb's MO. First of all it was Chris Harris daring to have ambition to be a World Champion, whilst being the Captain of Leicester. Then it was Tyre changes. And now Coin Toss. You haven't heard the last of it, believe me!

  28. If the teams rode against each other then the winners of that heat would go through (which is fairer than a coin toss?) Redcar and Oxford didn’t race again each other so it was a coin toss. Seems fair enough to me.

  30. I probably worded that badly, I wasn’t actually blaming the track and I don’t expect tai would either. I meant as opposed to him not qualifying for the semi’s by being beat by other riders

  31. That's just your opinion, but not what the rules said. The SCB rules have so many holes in them any competent team manager should be able to find holes in them

  35. Nothing new either. They did the same thing in Los Angeles in 1982. My parents went and said the crowd was very low and their seats got moved for the tv cameras.

  37. Fair comments in view of the two postponed meetings tbh. Not hard to have a wider view of what buster has done for the sport but also recognise the bs that’s gone on over the two meetings postponements.

  39. After an iffy start turned into a really good pairs meeting with some excellent racing when any of the three top teams met. Well done to Glasgow who thoroughly deserved their victory with Chris Harris the rider of the night. His team riding in the semi was epic and in stark contrast to Charles Wright in the final, who was busting a gut to win the race when he should have dropped back to try to help his partner into third. Also a special mention for young Max Perry taking a fine heat win. And finally - where was Cami?

  40. Outstanding win for Glasgow. I’ve never witnessed them win a trophy (I started at Coatbridge in 1975!) so thank you BSN. And the celebrations showed how much it means to everyone at the club. Getting the best of Charles Wright and Danny King twice was no mean feat, and the way in which they rode showed what pairs is all about.

  41. People have queried it. I believe the explanation is simply that Eurosport is contracted to show a certain number of matches, plus the playoffs- and they have done so

  45. Max Perry is now partnering Kyle Howarth. Craig Cook has pulled out for Edinburgh too, so Luke Killeen now partners Josh Pickering. Year in year out riders suddenly drop out of meetings like this, and the case of this meeting, you can now count either of those pairs as winners. Total joke, and a complete waste of money attending.

  46. Well good news I can't make either meeting as am on holiday (might try and go to Plymouth instead) so the bad luck charm that is me can't work my magic for the Tigers! My record 3 home losses from 4 matches for Ipswich and 1 from 2 for Sheffield!

  48. When Halifax 're-opened in1965,Long Eaton were the first visitors, and on a rainy night in front of 11.000 fans ran out victors by 41-37.Rim must have been riding that night, but it was a young Ray Wilson who caught the eye.I still remember that night,if only we could turn the speedway clock back to those great days.
