I can remember when Lynn closed for one season in 1996, we had grand plans to go to either the EoES or the Foxhole most weeks.....ended up doing both just once plus the Overseas Final at Coventry. It's not the same as your own club and the reality is most P'boro fans will drift away if they don't run next year.9 points

We're going to be scratching around at Halloween again. Never learn. One of the many issues with play offs, rarely (never?) Held in optimum conditions for speedway or for spectating. Either wet/ drying track or your freezing your nuts off in the stand.6 points

It was effectively 5 points from 2 rides as you full well know. Yes he missed the gate in his first ride and packed up at the back with machinery issues, but then looked fast in his next two and was clearly faster than Bewely in his fourth ride when he steamed under him and Bewely dropped it for which Doyle got ridiculously excluded. Let’s not start the “he’s no loss anyway” stuff because it just makes you look daft. And as for the second highlighted bit, nobody is falling for that old codswallop!! Why do fans do this nonsense? Make out their team is really up against it, underdogs, more disadvantaged than the opposition with injury, when it’s blatantly not true and they’re clearly strong favourites? It’s bizarre5 points

Meetings are called off too easily in the earlier parts of the season with seemingly 'plenty of time' to fit them in. I like a meeting on an iffy track, always proves interesting, definitely upping the skill level required.4 points

Morning! Bonus points if you can name the riders Could that be Paco Castanga, third from the left?4 points

It’s not speedway though is it. I personally wouldn’t cross the road to watch any four wheeled motorsport even if it were free.3 points

Doyle has said he is having a few days off and then be back on a bike. So looks like he will ride on Thursday.3 points

Edinburgh were not worthy of being in play offs but turned out to be the best of a bad lot at bottom of table.3 points

Im biased being a Witches fan but what a signing this guy has turned out to be Gives 110% every meeting ....not just here for a payday and turning up as and when it suits him. His scoring has been sensational but i want to touch on the other side of our sport He is the last one out of the pits to the changing rooms.....signs EVERY autograph and has EVERY picture EVERY week........always has a smile on his face and chats to everyone I knew he was a class rider but to see how he interacts with all the fans all the time he has been a pure pleasure to see every week We need more riders that do this not just hastily disappear after a meeting Ive heard from various sources that at away matches he has time for all the opposing supporters to Thankful as an Ipswich fan we didnt sign Holder with the attitude he has!!2 points

As amusing as that is to watch riding around in celebration after the meeting is not an official session, you may as well throw them out for wearing shorts and a t-shirt between sessions2 points

Apologies, that's poor etiquette from me to post another one before the current one has been guessed. Yep mines Norwich.2 points

Looking at the standard of rider that could get aWildcard next season, surely there has too be case for giving Emil and Artum wildcards. Two of the Worlds best sitting watching does nothing for the series.2 points

You could be right, but I haven't spoken to any Panthers fan that is interested in going to Lynn. Think the combination of Buster appearing to give up on Panthers, & the quality of racing at Lynn declining will deter a lot of Panthers fans. Personally, I won't be giving Buster any money.2 points

I found it was never the same after Reading closed. I put it down to not caring who won, it takes all the passion out of it.2 points

I’m a Scunny fan and by far he’s the most impressive rider at the Eddie Wright Raceway he’s a class act on and off the track2 points

The few on here are only a small fraction of the fans attending the Showground. If Lynn sign a few of the Panthers best riders, i can see a 2/300 out of the 1200/1400 or so making the trip over, if Lynn have a competitive team.2 points

Very ambitious by the Brummies, but I fear for their future if true. Hopefully they'll get some Wolves fans attending to make it work.2 points
-
Neither, will be saving my money for trips to the continent most likely. I think Buster is probably thinking a lot of Panthers fans will migrate down the A47 but I can’t see that happening.2 points
-
Sooner drive past and go to either Mildenhall or Ipswich, never will step foot into KL again while chapman still owns the club, may even try Leicester or Scunthorpe.2 points

Wouldn't give Buster another penny so would be Leicester but the racing can't compare to the showground.2 points

I reckon the vast majority just support a team and enjoy watching the riders and racing, without bothering or questioning all the shizzle ... unless or until their team is affected. This forum tends to attract fans who have a real interest, whereas, for example Speedway Friends on Facebook proves that there are plenty of people out there who are barely computer literate or even capable of conscious thought.2 points

For goodness sake, yes we're up against it, so what let's all try to send positive vibes not negative ones all the time. If the meeting goes ahead I'll be watching on TV, probably with everything crossed but until the 2nd legs finished I'll keep the faith as I hope all Witches supporters will.2 points

2 ex Peterborough riders does that also mean that Basso racing fan is transferring over to you guys?2 points

What about Sheffield? Losing their top 2, reminds me of 2017 losing Freddie and Jacob in the semi.2 points

Oxford and Glasgow can toss a coin for who goes up. Loser is the one who has to join the Premiership.2 points

very slim chance of it being one league imo, I think a team will come up and the premiership will be six teams. Like it was in 2021 or 2022 (whatever year it was)2 points

Can't see it if Glasgow go into the premiership Basso & Vad will ride there.2 points

1 Very Cheap 2 Even Cheaper 3 Dirt Cheap 4 Extremely Cheap 5 Bit Less Cheaper than 1 6 Free 7 Whats left when everyone else is signed elswhere so they pay to ride for the club2 points

You’re correct of course, but if Louis wants Rew back at Ipswich next year then I can’t see any scenario where he forces a move elsewhere. Belle Vue do like Rew though and I’m sure they’d be interested. The NSS would suit him as a home track actually and I could see him moving through the gears if he went there next year.1 point

Howarth good guest considering Wolves have asked Rory not do too many meetings so he can recover (was on the podcast). https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/gcn8db1mu#?date=2023-09-20 Be surprised if this is on. Edit - oh and @Skidder1 it is 20th on Weds btw1 point

Stuart Robson Farewell Meeting FB KING DANNY AGREES TO RIDE Delighted to confirm that Redcar and Ipswich favourite and former British Champion DANNY KING will again be in the line-up for the Stuart Robson Farewell sponsored by Rentruck on Saturday 30th September with a 5pm start. Danny who last week helped to pick up the KO Cup with the Witches is also due to lead both teams into the end of season play-offs and have kindly agreed to ride for Robbo again “It has been a real struggle to get confirmations recently, but I am really honoured that Danny has agreed to join me again.” Said Robbo “I’ve known him a long time and know that he has always wanted to support my event, and it is great that he has accepted. Lots of irons in the fire, but this is also great from a Bears fans perspective and fingers crossed we can get another couple over the line too!” Danny will again be sponsored by the ROBBOS COVENTRY BEES FAN CLUB, and his tyre and fuel sponsored by NICK WATSON Danny will wear the number 6 racejacket and this is currently reserved for the sponsor who was with us back in March. If they no longer wish to have the racejacket then it will become available1 point

Which is "worthy" of being in the play-offs. The 6th best team in the league "deserves" to have a chance at the title, as voted by the clubs pre-season.1 point

Yet strangely what we did that year is still perfectly acceptable as proved by Sheffield. What strange logic you have.1 point

Doyle goes too far to many times for a rider of his ability.Lebadevs is just dangerous and out of control too many times for me.1 point
