  1. Obviously I’m no Poole fan but is this Osborne bloke some kind of clown, he certainly cannot understand the history of all of our beloved sport, one of the most successful teams if not the most successful team ever and he’s circling like a shark I hope the fords keep it going for the sports sake and all the Poole fans and you all get together and tell him to do one. It’s well supported well run and the council should tell him to foxtrot Oscar . Good luck for the future Poole fans I genuinely mean that we all have digs at each other through the season but I admire Poole as there the model we should all be aiming at.

  2. If he wasn't bothered about Ipswich or UK he could move his family to Sweden or Poland and still get family time. He's committed to the UK and gets nowhere near enough credit. If every GP rider was the same, Speedway in the UK would be top notch.

  4. Phil Morris, will not be prepared to allow clubs "yes people" to continue for very long as a Voice representative if all they do is say "everything is great at my club" nor will he tolerate folk who see this as a forum to moan, complain about everything being rotten to the core as far as Premiership speedway is concerned. He will be looking to work with representatives who take a balanced view to the current situation and can provide feedback on current topics and potential additional concepts for the near and far future. This is a great idea and should be applauded not shot at.

  8. Very true. For those that are there every week, it's clear to see. As opposed to somebody with a Man U top as his profile and the words Sick Bro - I know what I see and whom to believe.

  9. As they say the devil is often in the detail, you can draw a lot from what is or isn't said, a rider who was merely going through the motions wouldn't say the things he has - he would simply say something bland like - 'I am pleased to re-sign for the Witches and lets go for 2024' All the other stuff about the club being run well, being paid on time and family etc are clues as to how he feels. You can choose to ignore that if you wish. They also provide illumination on what may or may not have gone on at other clubs in the past. His body language in the pits, with the fans and after winning heats also shows a lot, again someone who views his time at Ipswich as a 'pure' convenience' wouldn't be like he is with the fans etc. Finally - treating someone well often brings it own loyalty as a director of a company of 22 staff, many of whom have been with us for 10+ years I know all about that! Yes no one works for free and in many cases convenience helps - but it would be more convenient for me to work in the local chip shop as its 2 minutes from my home and i wouldnt have to run a company of 22 people and all the stresses that goes with it, but I still choose to do it!

  10. I believe Doyle when he says he is happy at Ipswich, you can see what it means to him when he wins important races for Ipswich. He is a honest guy who clearly likes his employer and wants to do well for them.

  11. Think a few people are getting a little carried away. Jason Doyle will do what's best for Jason Doyle and his family. And so he should. Riding in the UK suits him and his family, Riding for Ipswich suits him and his family. And in return he performs week in week out and gives value for money to his employers end of. If you want to put him on a pedestal of integrity and loyalty and he does it for the love of the fans etc, might want to ask Leszno how they feel about him.

  12. That would assume the Council would offer the lease again, and if they do offer it, what the operating/development criteria might be?

  13. Think the club that holds the rider registration has first call. If not offering a place then I believe you are correct Having said that it is pretty much a free for all whatever the rules - politics and finance override the regs......

  14. Don't really see your issue. Hook and Pearson signed straight from Oz with no professional league experience thus 4s. Tate, west and fid that matter rew and bowes went to Poland and have professional league experience as such are 5s. Pretty straightforward really

  15. On this point if you examine what Doyle said last season and this - it is clear his reasons for his staying at Ipswich for season no 3 (slightly different to his long service to British Speedway) and perhaps a dig or too at former clubs - last season he mentioned about always being paid on time, and how well run Ipswich were, this year he describes the family atmosphere at the club.

  17. Don’t know what all the fuss about a 3pm start time. Yeah working full time and life gets in the way some weeks but if you’re really a supporter you’ll be there when you can. As for it clashing with the Reds and amateur rugby, I know what I’d prefer to go and watch. Instead of all the negativity flying around in the world atm can we just have some positive thinking for a change. Get behind the promotion, behind our 7 riders whoever’s they may be, and support the comets.

  20. I'm sure that many feel the same and for others the penny has yet to drop. The local rag posts that Lyon and Basso have jumped ship and others are likely to follow. Who gives a flying **** (and that's not Ryan)? Any Peterborough Speedway supporter who puts another penny in Chapman's coffers in 2024 (unless he choose to clarify to our satisfaction what he's been playing at during 2023) really does need to have a serious word with themselves. When we had the misfortune of Chapman taking over 5 years ago it was reported that "Two winters ago he played a significant role in keeping the sport at the National Speedway Stadium in Manchester by introducing new owners to Belle Vue." - which begs the question as to what he's been buggering about at all season and why he's allegedly still clinging on to sod all? The only challenge and focus for Peterborough supporters now is to keep the opposition going with significant numbers despite having nothing to follow in 2024. When/if PCC get round to the planning applications then strong opposition is going to be crucial to saving the club.

  21. Can't see Dan lowering himself to those kind of levels tbh. Leaving BV for KL is the equivalent of leaving Kate Moss for Vanessa Feltz.

  22. I'm from Sheffield originally and my parents still go there. Travelling up is not so easy as it used to be as the A1 is constantly busy nowadays, but yes, I can get back in a little over 90 minutes.

  25. Must admit I was expecting Flint in the Bears team next year, but it seems like the same as last year that we have lost out to teams who can offer more money. Kerr a good signing for Berwick I think.

  26. BCP and Osborne will have a fight on there hands if they try and close the stadium. Osborne does not own the land which is a blessing, if he doesn’t want to continue the lease then Mr Ford could take it on and if Mr Ford wishes not to there is other local business people that would take it on. There is plenty of local business people that would take it on and turn it into a multi use facility. I’m very confident BCP will soon back step once knowledge is in the public eye. We went through this at the end of 1995 when the council tried to close the stadium, and thousand of fans turned up at the civic centre which they didn’t expect! Poole’s main sporting event is speedway in the town, that has been here for 75 years, it’s unique and taking that out the town would be a massive mistake. Closing speedway isn’t just a sport it’s a weekly gathering and community for so many people and taking that away will have knock on effects.

  27. You can't question the loyalty of anyone who is prepared to do the journey up and down the A140 / A14 between Norwich and Ipswich! Not the best journey.

  28. Buster doesn't want to put up any kind of fight for the club so this is what you do. 1. You agree a fixed price with the consortium and you hand the club over to them NOW! so the consortium can actually put up a fight against AEPG. 2. If the consortium thwarts AEPG and gets confirmation of a Showground return in 2025 then the sale can go through at the agreed price with Buster. 3. No Showground return......No sale What you don't do is this. 1. Assist AEPG in demolishing the showground. 2. Don't bother voicing any support for those who are trying to fight for the club's future. 3. Stick the boot in by announcing Panthers riders / management signing for King's Lynn on a Save Peterborough Speedway Protest Day instead of covering the protest itself.

  29. That's the whole point of the discussion, he lives in Norwich so riding in the UK and for Ipswich is perfect for him. Robert Lambert lives in Poland and chooses to do two leagues and then some UK once Poland finishes so their circumstances are different. Doyle doesn't need to ride here but if you can get a good wage why wouldn't you work in the country where you live?

  33. So when Doyle says he’s loves riding for Ipswich and it’s like a family what are you doing saying it’s rubbish and it’s just convenient?? That’s questioning the integrity of his word and I just can’t understand your rhetoric

  35. Agree, thing is we are paying lesser riders bigger money. Its is the entertainment that counts though.Crowd levels certainly haven’t risen much in the last few years which tells you something. It it the price or is it the entertainment value.Who knows.!

  36. Thing is it was £15 5-10 years ago, riders pay and everything else has increased fairly dramatically in those years, so unfortunately the admission price moves up with it.

  39. and that is bickleys problem was too good for the oposition and had equipment far better when he was a junior he never had the chance to learn to race the change was too big for him to adjust too im sure kyle with the right backing did have it to be good but think he was a superstar before he started at higher level (no fault of his own )

  40. Difference is that the council own the stadium, not Osborne. He is a leaseholder, nothing more. If the stadium lease came up, Matt Ford has said already he would form a consortium to get the lease.

  41. Supporters of their teams in every sport always gets sucked in by 'love it here' statements. Very few (next to zero) talk the truth about their current employer. It's absolute fact that Doyle is only at Ipswich because it works for him right now, close to home & family & paid handsomely by TruPlant. Imagine the reaction if Doyle came out with "I'm only here because of family reasons. If it was a choice I'd be elsewhere because in truth, Ipswich is a s#!thole." Supporters (in the main) are deluded in defending their badge. It's understandable but Doyle is NOT at Ipswich through his "loyalty to British Speedway."

  44. If you look at his 2023 home average though it overinflates this at 10.08, and away is 7.00. Probably tells alot with the home track advantage that Armadale gives
    1 point
  45. His 2023 average beat three number ones in the league, and another number one isn’t coming back next year, so he might not be the best number one, but that is his position now tbh.

  46. It doesn’t matter how you try to spin it Jason has been one of the most loyal GP riders to UK speedway. There is no team in the league who would not want him in their team. Both Jason and Emil have bought plenty of entertainment to the fans at Ipswich . More so than than any other riders in recent years ( although Jason if you are reading this you have yet to do full lap of the stockcar track on 1 wheel)!

  49. I would take him back for the no5 racejacket. He is an exciting rider to watch with his chasing and sweeps around the outside line but as a No1 not for me.
