I know the word legend gets thrown about far too easily nowadays but the guy is an absolute legend of British speedway! I know it’s a bit of a standing joke of who is Harris guesting for tonight but one thing is sure the day he retires speedway will be all the poorer for it.11 points

The only criticism you can have about Polish speedway is the lack of atmosphere...4 points

That was a top night. Big crowd and a great meeting. Passing in most races. You can see why Woffy praised the track, smooth as you like. Made me feel even more gutted about the demise of my own team but its good to see Oxford doing so well. If only we had top league local derbies to look forward to. Nice to see a Swindon number 1 wrap the points up against Oxford though!!!4 points

One thought I had is, we could run the rematch as a double header. Glasgow home meeting on the outside track, Edinburgh can use the inside track for their "home" meeting3 points

Only thing I can think off that would numb the pain crashing into an air fence would be a bottle of Grouse. Im guessing you would get banned.for being pi$$ed right enough.3 points

No rain forecast, been dull and windy all day. As has the weather3 points

John Louis was a good servant to the club in 83/84. Very sad his passing wasn’t acknowledged.3 points

I have paid £169 for tickets then £273 for the Premier Inn at Manchester Denton for four nights, I consider that to be good value.3 points

Yeah thats another crazy thing. Fans are quick to complain about lack of value at speedway yet when promoters agree to delay 15 minutes to give fans as strong a meeting as they can they get hammered for that too. I cant believe I am sticking up for promotions but in this case I think they are getting unfair stick (and unlike some I speak out when I think someone is being treated badly)2 points

After 4 riders getting banned over the last 18 months, you'd expect all riders to be more aware of what they can & can't take / what to inform the authorities of etc. If it's a case of Complin being prescribed medication but not informing the SCB, he'd have to get some sort of suspension I guess. Maybe it'll just be "timed served" by the time the hearing is over he'll be able to return? Another suggestion for riders, who need pain killers to compete, don't ride till you are fit, you're team will be allowed a guest.2 points

Cracking meeting, plenty of close racing and passing, Ipswich just to strong in the end, fair play to them. Oxford will be looking for more from Janowski and escpecially Klindt. Tough luck on Kerr (speedy recovery) who is key to any future success, surely it will be a few extra meetings for Scott.2 points

Very thoughtful and considerate not wanting to pass anything on to us.2 points

Apologies, I forgot I volunteered to post "no, we don't stream" at the start of every home meeting thread. Must do better.2 points

I think any potential issue is with the newly awaited BCP Council 'Local Plan' which is currently in the 'public consultation' stage! The plan takes each council ward-by-ward and shows the Poole stadium site within the Poole Town Centre ward as a 'potential area for development'. This is no different to previous plans under the old Poole Council, and has no current planning applications attached to the site, despite part of the site (railway sidings and Stadium lorry park area) previously being suggested for housing, whilst retaining the stadium itself.. Generally the Council has said it does not want to lose any sports/leisure facilities, (it is currently working with Poole Town FC to source a new facility!) but nevertheless has targets for new houses/accommodation to be met over the next 15 years or so. Personally, I wouldn't see the Stadium site as a 'priority' area for development by the Council as there are several other sites identified across the whole B'mth/Christchurch/Poole area which I would see of higher priority. BUT a planning application could be submitted and fully funded by any third party partner ('cos the Council don't have the money!). It would be at that time that any protests and objections from speedway fans and anyone else against such developments would become necessary. The housing development market isn't that buoyant at the moment so I guess its WATCH THIS SPACE for the time being..............! In any case, it would likely be several years for any similar circumstances to come about, so as long as the rental of the stadium for speedway is kept at a reasonable level then I see Poole Speedway continuing for a good while yet. (Just my personal opinion!)2 points

Yes come around for a cuppa if you are passing. Good to see Ben Cook doing well in the PL. A good score last night. Could be our number one this season.2 points

I'd say for a lot of the time some folk have been saying it's too grippy and needs less material. I think that's the trouble with the dark, clay based shale, prep needs to be spot on for decent speedway. Not a lot of leeway either side.2 points

A fantastic evening of speedway . Great crowd great racing , shame Oxford dipped at the very end . Hope Lewi Kerr is ok though . He was going well . Never gets much luck2 points

A friend at Lynn said nothing was said about John Louis at all which is a real shame because of his standing within the sport.2 points

Just got home after a nip and tuck match - thought Sheffield had done enough to throw away what looked at various points to be a routine win, between engine failures and a fall when in points scoring positions, and Tai having a bad night I feared the worst… but hats off to the Holder brothers, they did the business when they had to. Not the most exciting meeting racing wise, but the scores being within a couple of points all night kept it interesting.2 points

Sorry not replied sooner but there was no viewing for me today - I ended up traveling to Hampshire and just got back - I have to say the stream was well done - decent commentary and a couple of camera angles (although I am not a big fan of multiple camera angles the sky coverage used to drive me mad keep switching like they did) in my view it was a decent production so if you did tune in I hope you enjoyed the Tigers win!2 points

Thoroughly enjoyable meeting at the ECCO Arena tonight. The Comets delighted all their travelling fans with a performance of desire and commitment. 12 points down after 4 heats the team fought their way back into the contest to take it to a last heat decider. Never in front until after heat 15 was just reward for the effort. Cookie and Batch showed what great competitors they can be and reinforced the feeling among the Comets fans that they still have plenty to offer regardless of the many negative comments that have been made on this forum about them both. Claus was just fantastic and once again displayed just how competitive and tough he is on the track. Antti didn't get the points his efforts deserved but both him and Tate once again showed great promise. Big well done to Celina who was competetive throughout and very nearly caught Jake Mulford on the line after having to go off a 15m handicap. Hope she is alright following the colllision with Connor Bailey after the race. The bears didn't do a lot wrong but only having 5 heat winners 4 of which were in the first 4 heats was telling.1 point

Just watched repeat of the stream. Can't help feeling we should've kept claus this season watching him ride like that1 point

Well done to Worky - both Cook and Batchelor clearly fancied it tonight which is not always the case. Both looked good. Tate took to the track straight away and Vissing was excellent. Celina battled hard and deserved her points. Worrying start for the Bears but not panic stations yet. Charles was good I thought but lacked any real support - thought King looked poor. Bailey did OK, but after a good first ride Knudsen was disappointing. Thought Edwards was good. Track a bit slick but understandable with the amount of rain over the last few weeks. Not sure if it is too early to get on the blower to Mr Riss.1 point

Pretty entertaining while it lasted. Some positives no doubt but the middle order pairing will need to improve at home. Something else bomber jumping out the cab onto track for a paid win.1 point

After been given a new engine for this season from one of his sponsors I thoroughly expect it to be pain relief related1 point

This would be a plausible explanation, so hopefully it’s accurate. It would be incredibly naive on Complin’s part, but entirely forgivable. I’d rather be set on fire and thrown out a third floor window than experience an abscess again, so I can relate to his oversight. When I had mine, I forgot to record Homes Under The Hammer. Abscess pain makes you do crazy things.1 point

I have a holiday caravan in South Devon and, as well as following my home town team, I have followed Exeter Falcons and the Plymouth Devils/Gladiators as well as the Somerset Rebels. At the Arena I have seen some cracking meetings over the years including those when Plymouth started up again and were in speedways third tier. The track might be a bit tricky but I've seen some spectacular overtaking and there's no time for the riders to get strung out like I saw at the NSS on Monday. If anyone reading this is having a holiday in South Devon or North Cornwall this summer, I urge you to go to the Coliseum for a good night's speedway. There's plenty of free parking in the Coypool Park and Ride Car Park and plenty of seating!1 point
