Great to see Cookie got a full five ride Max... Surprisingly not been mentioned by those who are somewhat more prone on here to giving him grief....8 points

Of course, it's terrible when someone uses their knowledge to make a post, as opposed to just blurting out nonsense...8 points

What a great Speedway meeting! If you didn't like that I really don't know why you watch Speedway at all, it had everything, great racing, close scoreline, last heat decider, drama in the last race and a victory for the underdog. You can compare it to Poland until the cows come home but you're comparing Premier League football to the Championship. That was a great advert for the sport in this country7 points

You can sit there getting all worked up that it’s not like the Ekstraliga but you are just kidding yourself if you think British speedway will ever be at that level again, just enjoy it for what it is, some good racing and something to watch on a Monday night And by the way, I’ve watched plenty of crap meetings from Poland.7 points

Lots of positives tonight for British speedway. A well prepared track close meeting throughout and good racing to go along with it.6 points

Well done Birmingham, thought it was a very good meeting, plenty of close racing, some decent passes and a close finish. Fully deserved victory.4 points

Justice there. Actually really enjoyed that one tonight. Always makes it better when the underdog comes out on top. Brilliant. For Belle Vue, that was abysmal4 points

Brum deserved that win tonight. Showed a lot of fight throughout the meeting with various riders stepping up.3 points
-
My expectations were low after the reports on here of the first home meetings but this has been very enjoyable, Brum has always been a decent race track. The Brummies have showed plenty of fight, effort and determination but ultimately are probably going to fall short in heat 15 against BV's top end power.3 points

UK Speedway is not in competition with any foreign league speedway. Fans watch/attend or not. UK attendances are reportedly increasing despite in some cases racing in dilapidated Stadia so the actual racing is clearly offering something that fans want. It's still 4 riders for 4 laps x 15. What's not to like!3 points

Same. A fair share of meetings are dross in Poland due to how unbalanced the league is imo.3 points

Don’t think I’ll get to see the end of this. I asked the pub to put it on but it’s not going down well with the regulars and tbh I can’t argue with their criticisms. Zzzzzz It’s now off, in favour of music videos. Updates for me then.3 points

I think you'll find she is I speedway because she wants to race and has demonstrated sufficient ability and achievements to progress in her chosen sport.3 points

Pretty negative comments there Hawk. Most posters on here, including me, seemed to enjoy the meeting. Close racing, a fair amount of passing and the meeting went right down to the wire. Plus the underdogs won. So put that in your pipe and smoke it.2 points

Well done Birmingham. Nice to see a struggling team win a meeting. Seen that plenty over the years with Lynn. Only down side is your above us2 points

certainly encourages you to make a journey to perry bar. i was impressed by the poles and the brum team in general2 points

Thought that was a good watch tonight. Lots of passing and a last heat decider with drama that saw the underdog picking up a win.2 points

Fair call imo,but once the ref come to that conclusion the race should be awarded as Brennan was in a different post code to Bewley.2 points

Can only see a win for the Aces by 10+ points, hope I'm wrong, as I don't want to see Birmingham struggle to finish the season.2 points

Gutted to be out didn’t expect Woffinden to win but thought he d make the semifinals easily how wrong can you get a very poor performance from him well done and good luck to everyone still in thanks for running the competition again R/R pity I couldn’t stay in a little longer2 points

Possibly. Guess it depends who he wants to take a booking from. Although given he scored paid 12 at Ashfield last week, he might think that's the best prospect. I'm sure the promotion would've at least had a chat with him after last Friday's meeting. There were definitely people telling Cami to get it done!2 points

I think the dragging out of the disciplinary hearing for Lee has now become more relevant with Ace out. Would guess our promotion will be onto the SCB to move this on quicker now we are in the position off having no reserves.2 points

Need heat 1 at 7.30 then & not 7 50 like most Tv matches cut the inane chat & adverts.2 points

There no one in Poland wanting him.He must be wanting more than he is worth. Not sure about double figures over here.2 points

He rode that turn 1 as if he was at the NSS He does seem to make some poor decisions on track at times, hopefully that'll come with experience I'll certainly be making a few trips over later in the year now my local Monday (Peterborough) night track had closed1 point

The NSSC are hosting a special event on Tuesday 7th May at the Brandon Club. Starting at 8pm, Paul Ackroyd, David Norris and Gary Havelock will be discussing the work of the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund. Although at times it is a solemn but necessary subject there will be plenty of opportunity for David & Gary to entertain the audience with tales of past adventures. It promises to be a great event with all proceeds for the SRBF. Everyone welcome only £4 entry. All details here; https://www.nuneatonspeedwaysupportersclub.co.uk1 point

It’s a shame Vuolas is missing as I’m sure it would have been a stern test for Tigers.( it might still be).Should be cracking match.1 point

I admire your confidence and why not your team have exceeded expectations. It should be a cracker we are starting to build some momentum now , should be a decent turnout from Cumbria.1 point

Never before in 40 years of watching speedway had I seen a start like that. Lambert had been warned that he was not coming to the tapes by the referee and the start marshall. The time was up and the green light was on. Four times Lambert rolled back and was pulled back by the start marshall. Yes FOUR TIMES! Kemp was hesitantly edging forward meanwhile Jack Smiths clutch was burning away. The smell and black s smoke billowing from the engine. The referee eventually let the tapes go and Lambert went on to win the race. The red lights should have come on and Lambert excluded for delaying the start. The referee did nothing to back up the starting marshall. Smith lost his temper with him but it was the referee who should have got his wrath. Mr Dishington showed that he was incapable of controlling a speedway match. He should be struck off the referees list. The whole spectacle was embarrassing! For the sport and especially the standard of refereeing!1 point

They will unless more changes are made at KL imo. Both teams are as bad as each other now but the difference is Birmingham have a young team with riders who can improve as the season goes on where's King's Lynn don't. 1-5's are on par with each other but Brum are stronger at reserve.1 point
