Probably going to regret this but here goes... I'll start with the boring factual stuff. Almost all people sentenced to time in prison in the UK serve 50% before release "on licence". It's only if you get over (4 years I think) that you depending on your sentence (as set by the judge) either get 66% in prison, or have to apply for parole. I "think" Jason would have had to apply for parole, parole is almost always rejected at the first attempt. So if Jason has been released at attempt one then he has been very well behaved. That means no fighting, arguing, disagreements, dirty looks, attending courses (that's time spent with psychologists). It means he's worked damn hard. Next bit. Should Jason be allowed to be a speedway rider? Long term forum members will remember me, I idioted up, I went to prison. I met many people who were somewhere between absolute wrong 'uns who IMO should never seen the light of day to people who idioted up and will (are?!) be good people who will add to society on release. Where does Jason fit? Well IMO, he's more on the a bit stupid, but probably knows it and wants to make good but his intelligence makes it hard to explain that. Would I give him a chance? Yes but with very, very strict rules that if he so much as answers back the manger he is sacked. Why? Because I believe that everyone should be given a second chance (what a shock I think that eh?!). One of the reason I think people should get a second chance is, because as other have pointed out, what else can he do? Should he claim benefits for the next 50 years? Give him a purpose in life, trust me, it makes a massive difference. I would also be very wary of trusting anything in the press. Yes the crimes were committed but pleading guilty means you get almost no chance to put your side of the case across, also the press misrepresent things, which legally is allowed. Lies? Yep, sure as long as there is a vague basis of fact. So the press ask you for your side? Do they idiot!10 points

I know he had numerous drug/alcohol tests when he was riding & he always laughed & went along & at no point did he ever provide a non-negative sample so I'd suggest that will remain the case. especially if he is under any form of probation scheme because he can & will be tested at any time so no racing schedule to work by. If by staying away when he's riding at your track makes you happy then that's what you have to do but there's no need to try to influence others to do the same. The Guys done wrong & been punished for it let him have his chance to prove he has changed. So many before have suffered time away or been banned by the sports bodies & they have come back into the sport at a latter point & worked hard to regain their deserved respect.9 points

well thats one way of getting rid of the older generation of speedway fans . this needs looking into ASAP for the good of British speedway and of course Oxford . just one cash only entry point would attract a good few people who are missing out .7 points

Having watched the interview with him it's clear he's fit & healthy & keen to come back. Plainly someone is backing him with having all his own kit in place. Why not? He's bound to be targeted by drug testers when he does which will help keep him straight. The only way he is going to prove the doubters wrong is by his actions & proving he can lead a useful, crime & drug free life. If speedway is what he has a talent for then let him use that talent. The alternative is rejection & probably going back to his old ways which benefits no one. It would be nice as well if his stated wish to make amends to those he wronged was not just him paying lip service to the idea & if the victim is willing he is actually allowed to do something towards that.6 points

Along with an opportunity to redeem himself. Yes, he is an idiot, and yes, he is a violent thug. BUT, do we just consign him to the scrap-heap of life (as the warm-hearted and incredibly perfect Lisa-Colette wishes), or do we give him a second chance? Not everyone makes the most of a second chance. In fact, a lot don't. However, history is littered with idiots and violent thugs who HAVE turned their lives around in the best way possible. No, he shouldn't be given endless chances, but he SHOULD be given one...6 points

There was a certain other southern based Australian rider who you more than welcomed back on a number of occasions6 points

Loved watching him at Brum....exciting/committed in every race! I think Jason needs life guidance....I hope he gets the therapy he needs and develops mentally. Personally, I think if you just shut him down....then 'you' might be the one that benefits from a bit of work on 'compassion'! Judgement is an obstacle that prevents you from having internal peace. Forgiveness is the only way.6 points

I’m going to presume a massive oversight on Chapman’s behalf in that he’s only just realised the Poles are already booked in for that evening - which he’s now trying to backtrack and lie about to cover his own behind.3 points

Unfortunately whenever there is a rider missing for whatever reason, it should NEVER make the team stronger than it was before. This is where the UK speedway set up is so wrong in that it insists on making guests more appealing than ever before.3 points

Seems to have got lost a bit here but Thompson again was looking superb before the rain came down. Unbeaten in his first two rides beating seasoned riders Iversen and Klindt before the rain made it a bit of a lottery in his final two. He’s showing fantastic potential and is improving all the time. Good to see.3 points

Since Leicester were already due, could they not have run a Poole (using 5 Lynn riders) vs Leicester match for the Jubilee League instead?3 points

At the end of the day if he wants to work then that is his choice, if a employer wants to hire him that is their choice, if you disagree do not spend any money supporting him, that is your choice. quite simply really2 points

The girl had life changing injuries. & I don't think it was a not guilty verdict. As I understand a very expensive barrister supplied to the riders plea bargained for a behaviour bond & a large compensation pay out.2 points

Think it’s safe to say after hearing all the talk from him and others no matter if we agree with or not he is on the comeback trail, the only question is which team is the lucky or unlucky ones to get him2 points

Wojdylo has had 1 exceptional meeting at home, he won’t do that every week, lambert could come in at reserve and get you 7 points. Then run r/r at number 1. If you get 8 from that then that’s an average return from musi, so yes Lynn could field an as good as if not better team than what they have and easily beat Leicester who have been very hit and miss so far !2 points
-
You questioned the importance. When Wojdylo has a near 8 average at home, as reserve, able to take 7 rides it's very very clear his importance. No guest could cover that loss. Stupid comparison. King's Lynn don't need Wojdylo to look after the opposition reserves. Wojdylo is needed to deal with opposition 2nd strings & heat leaders because the current middle order is appalling to deal with it themselves. At home, while at reserve (which he currently won't be next month) Wojdylo is AAAAAAABSOLUUUUUUUUUUTELY MAAAAAAAAAAAASSIVELY important to King's Lynn winning their home meetings. Surely you understand that, no???2 points

If Woj was that good he wouldn't be riding at reserve!2 points

It's looking certain that Jason is returning to ride speedway for a team in the near future, people need to get over his past because if it's your team he rides for then I'm sure he'll be cheered as he starts to win races. Like I've said in posts before, I don't think any club will be bothered if a few don't attend because of Jason being there.2 points

I feel that there are a few things to address here still. I am bemused by the Ipswich fans on here so defensive about their parade times - I too have attended speedway around the country and Europe but frankly I couldn't care less about riders saying hello to the crowd over real racing! We all know that the package is only 15 minutes so needs some filler but there are times when this doesn't make sense and I'm sure most of us have been to meetings when the parade is sacrificed or the interval delayed. Now if the council have a ruling, that I fully understand, but it's a matter of communication to everyone, not just home fans, to say Tapes up at 2:30pm. If I turn up to se a 3:00pm kick off at Football I don't expect to see the team coming out to play at 3:15. Equally if labour laws insist there is a certain interval for track staff, just let us know when the interval is called - at least we can moan at other factors then. My real gripe/concern is that yesterday was another one of those chances to boost the sport - good crowd expected for a bank holiday derby and some first-timers were even acknowledged by the announcer. But what would the opinion be of those casual fans? How tempted would a family be to spend good money on a sport that pays so much heed to the weather, and ends up in everyone traipsing out feeling short-changed by only seeing two thirds of the races. Maybe results shouldn't be called after 10 heats? Maybe refunds should be given up to Heat 15? Would promotors attitudes be different then? I don't think the two minutes was put on immediately after every race, no matter what the local fans say, and I just didn't feel that enough urgency was shown - sorry Chris Louis! As I said I compared it to the Oxford match I attended earlier in the season where the meeting reached a full conclusion when the track was far from ideal and all parties were trying hard to get through as soon as they could due to the threat of another downpour. In the end I guess I would only have to endure another 5 heats of Ipswich putting my beloved Stars to the sword - and in the meantime I realise I've turned into my dad!2 points

Not long got to me b&b from the meeting. And wot an absolutely absorbing meeting it was. That's speedway at its best even though we Pirates lost by a point we did get the aggregate bonus point. Both teams were giving everything but for me the ride of the night was by Tobias when he joined Rocketman for a 5-1 over Whoops Scotty! That was awesome! Now to deal with them Gladiators to secure qualification. C'mon the Boyzzzz I need a flat white after that!1 point

It's a clash of the defending title winners the tiggers of Glasgow and the defending treble winning H18TORY comets as we did not get a chance to defend our titles Whatever happens looking like a sunny day and lots of travelling fans coming down, should be a good day and hopefully some good racing, could be close UTC1 point

Honest and open interview and held his hands up. It does make me wonder now this interview has been released if certain promoters are looking at the feedback on this to see if his worth a punt.1 point

While everybody is entitled to their opinion, nobody seems to have addressed the actual rules... 02.2.8 Promoter / Associate Specifically, the staging Promotion is responsible: - c) until 2 hours prior to the advertised start time may postpone the meeting if there are exceptional conditions as would make racing impossible, except where: i) the SCB specifically forbids a Promotion from so doing ii) if a Meeting Steward is appointed to the meeting and must advise the Referee at the earliest opportunity It's an open and shut case... it was not "impossible" to stage this meeting, why the SCB haven't specifically forbidden it is a question that needs asking. They seem pretty toothless against promotions yet come down on riders like a tonne of bricks.1 point

What’s interesting is that 2 weeks ago, a member of this forum posted in the international section saying about the 4 quarter finals to be held on this date, before Kings Lynn’s last home match. It’s interesting the timing of this announcement after Woyldo scored a maximum in the last match. Would it be the same stance if he had scored 2 or 3? It absolutely stinks to postpone a match because there is one rider missing, regardless of how much notice has or hasn’t been given.1 point

Correct decision, well done King’s Lynn!!! We shouldn’t be forced to race without Patryk because Poland have put their qualifying meetings on a UK race night! I hate it when meetings are postponed but F**K Polish speedway, they know when our meetings are as our fixtures have been out for months on end. #OurStars1 point
