'Banned' 'failing' 'despite' 'evidence' - all a little over dramatic me thinks. How about: The standard 7 day sickness protocol, as per SCB regulations, will apply to Dan Thompson who has covid.5 points

I’m sure we could manage to get him on a 5. Think they call it the Tarrasenko rule.4 points

Think you will find it was kept out maintaining the track longer as the medics were dealing with Dan Thompson. They done a good job with the track today IMO.No rider had any bother riding it which is something given their inexperience.Good Meeting IMO.4 points

A very good meeting with another close finish with the Spires just coming out on top helped by several great outside passes.3 points

Plymouth taking the absolute p!ss with this now. SCB/BSPA just as bad for allowing it. Should be having to use a NL 2 pointer at number 1 till he turns up if he ever does that is. Same situation as before with them.3 points

It's a tricky one for sure... Yes, Dan T is a rising star, but he is in the main body of the team based on his average - therefore logic (and I know this is where my comment falls down with british speedway) suggests that you would go like for like... If you have to get a guest for a rising star, at least let the club put them at number 7 and have said club temporarily re-jig their line up, so you push one of the current reserves back into the main body of the team... Poor Freddy riding at number 2, especially with R/R at number 1!?3 points

I said this before, as much as Osbourne is what he is he isn’t breaking the law and all his decisions are business decisions, if speedway was a cash cow he would be working in our favour, the council will do whatever the cash dictates,, council support for a track closed or otherwise means nothing but on the other foot speedway needs the council to run, it all boils down to money unfortunately and it rarely falls in speedways favour, even in oxford’s case if it wasn’t for the greyhound guy buying the rights to the stadium would speedway even be back ? Unfortunately moral people don’t run the world3 points

It will take some doing getting a good guest for Toft, his average is only 4.65.That is why Lynn should be trying their best to use up the team points available to replace him.2 points

Could Freddie be about to do the biggest u-turn in the history of the sport and sign for Ippo?2 points

That’s a reach. Anyone who misses a meeting on medical grounds has to sit 7 days out and has for quite some time.2 points

Luckily Chris Louis don't think like the promoter up the rd at Lynn coz if he did he'd of pulled a fast one and got the meeting cancelled coz of rider shortage, which tbf would've been a valid reason with the side being put out tonight, Scotty, Blodorn and R/R is bad enough as it is instead of Doyle, Ellis and King, and no disrespect to young Hodder but he ain't a patch on Dan with the form he's been in this season, Ipi only hope is they keep it as close as poss for the return leg on Thurs which then again will be a guest fest2 points

i think over the years we may have seen a lot more ambulances on track if it had been the old wooden fence, Unlike some air fences the foam fence doesn't lift up when riders hit it. Where i stand Luke Harrison hit the fence almost leg first at speed and was able to walk away from it so it is doing its job2 points

She's active on social media listing the meetings she has planned in the UK & Germany including the Women's Speedway Academy and Women's World Cup towards the end of the month.2 points

I think it depends massively on who is replacing MPT & Josh P for this fixture. I'd expect Sheffield's reserves to struggle so if Lynn's heat leaders cab score well then I reckon a win on the night is quite possible. And would be long overdue.2 points

Exactly that, most if not all Polish track's are prepared the same and made for throttle jockeys, pin the throttle and hold on pretty much, they ain't technical and varied tracks like you find in the UK and also have to ride in difficult conditions at times.2 points
-
Any Team will struggle too make significant changes these days with the low points limit. Most riders can just about ride to their average.Think a few fans were questioning this years signings before the season even started and they have been proved right. You are still watching exciting speedway though which is a bonus.2 points

From what I read, he decided not to take Latvian citizenship years ago as Latvia does not allow dual citizenship and he didn't want to give up his Russian passport.2 points

The Edinburgh situation wasn’t planning related. The ‘brochures etc’ was a campaign to drum up support within the community and local businesses and encouraging locals to canvas their Councillors to support it. At no time did the Edinburgh management consider it a done deal. They went to great lengths to produce a viable presentation for the Council. There was a £400,000 offer on the table from a business man and the community project from the Monarchs. The local council were initially supportive, but ultimately they decided to take the money. A lot of people bust their asses trying to make this happen and to have it end the way it did was a massive disappointment. To dismiss those efforts as ‘shouting off’ and ‘hadn’t even got planning permission’ is a cheap, uninformed shot.2 points

Think people are being overly harsh on Sam here. Pawlicki as you say had three on the trot, and seemed to look worse after a bright start. Third in heat 12 then a last in heat 13. Not a huge shock he was pulled from having four on the trot. Nobody here knows what is said in the pits either, maybe Pawlicki didn’t want 4 on the trot and asked to be pulled? None of us know.1 point

R/R for Doyle, Hodder in for Thompson who gets his expected 3 duck eggs, and guest Nicholls scores 4 with two exclusions, and Ipswich STILL win. LOL1 point

At the age of 40, Grigory Laguta still rides speedway in Russia. He even is the current national champion and captain of the Vladivostok team in the Russian Speedway League. A week ago at Oktyabrsky, Grigory Laguta won the Rinat Mardanshin Memorial. On Thursday though he crashed in a league meeting at Balakovo and suffered a concussion. In his heyday he was certainly one of the best riders in the world, was European champion, but sadly never rode in the SGP series except for a couple of wild card appearances in Latvia.1 point

Okay, thanks Lewy Just going on some other comments (not on here) that it depended what he got on Sunday.1 point

It went out of date in the winter I believe, so was taken out, improved/fixed/re beaned whatever was done to it, and refitted. It’s definitely better than an air fence in my opinion having watched plenty crashes at plenty tracks, although of course both have pros and cons, depends how you hit it etc.1 point

Injuries have clobbered you this year but your team set up with two massive big hitters is the way your promotion has gone whilst others have a more balanced side. It pretty much worked well in 2023 but plans have badly come unstuck in 2024 after a bright start and that unfortunately is speedway, you always need a fair slice of luck in this game and at the moment you haven’t got it.1 point

If a rider didn't start the season in a Championship team but rode in Premiership then they come in on the 1.5 multiplayer. I.e Basso 6.57 would be 9.851 point

Yeah, the others get injured tonight! Let’s hope everyone else stays fit and we pull through this. Freddie has problems with his visa so he won’t be available for both meetings this week. That could be our saving grace. I’m sure Chris is on the phone every minute of the day trying to firefight these situations that keep arising. Just hope Emil can keep his head in the game and perform like the last few meetings. If we get through this semi final it will be well played, although kind of feel like it won’t be the same if we defend the cup after knowing half of our team hasn’t ridden?1 point

Would agree,he was always keen to let everybody know how much money he had earned. He’s been there, done it and got the Tee Shirt but he’s just hanging about with the big boys now.He has other interests out side the sport which he is more interested in.Should just retire.IMO1 point

I’m not sure Badge, the rule says “track within an 8 day period” not “Team”. Beerhut also quoted this to me the other day.. “a rider may ride as a guest (in an official meeting) at a track only once in an 8 day period (within that league) excluding Play Offs, unless he is replacing the home teams #1 or is ONLY declared in a National Development League Team” Hawkins said after Thursday that we couldn’t use him again this week because of the 8 day rule, has he got that wrong? If the above is correct, he can guest for Doyle at 1 but not for King or Ellis. I’m sure someone who is more clued up on these rules than me will soon clarify if that’s the case1 point
