Hi guys, belle vue fan here who is in glasgow with work. Decided the check out ashfield. What a great set up! Entrance gates open so ducked my head and there was a rider doing laps, im supposing it was Ivacic? Obviously no other riders on track but he looked rapid!7 points

Of course I'm risking the comeback of 'you would say that' but for me if a rider witholds his services then he shouldn't be allowed to go elsewhere that season. If hes sacked then fair enough, or settles his differences and comes back for his original club but there has clearly been some underhand stuff going on here on the rider's part, however he dresses it up. Don't blame Ipswich for asking but I think the BSPL have decided correctly.6 points

Basso withdrawn with injury at Sheffield. Honestly can’t believe this season. Considering starting a go fund me for an exorcist!!4 points

While I agree that it's certainly unfair that clubs can drop riders but a rider will get a ban of they want to leave a club, I have no sympathy for Musielak. He said he needed a break due to injury, while still riding in Poland. Then says he's sitting out the rest of the GB season. So if he feels fit to return it should be with King's Lynn. If he's not happy there, just be honest about it.4 points

All this criticism of Poole, but we know who has the last laugh, and it’s not all their critics on here.4 points
-
Poole have a fanbase used to winning and their business model is solely based around that.. Unlike many other tracks, they actually have a fanbase to lose given the numbers they get.. Hence, they astutely know, victories keep them attending.. Come their leg of the final they will probably top 2000, which for some in the Championship is three meetings worth of attendees.. Many fans around the country attend for "the racing", Poole fans attend more for "the success" as that has been their default position for the past two decades.. Accordingly, their promoters give their punters what they want ..4 points

It was an entirely predictable outcome. Whether we agree with Belle Vue signing Lambert to replace the injured Fricke is down to personal views. However, there was such an outcry that SCB changed the rules - and now we have the current position. Sometimes speedway reaps what it sows.3 points

Good win for Leicester that they were proper up for it and deserved winners. King and Ellis let Ipswich down tonight. A few dangerous moves from Lawson, cook and Fricke this evening that probably crossed the line of hard/fair racing. A few times Lucky there wasn’t a nasty incident. Desperately need our heat leader replacement sorted asap and Thompson back.3 points

Is another Belle Vue the best blueprint? I think the track is over-rated and defaults to the wide line too early. From what I've seen and heard lately, the new Swindon and Workington are better racetracks.3 points

Bloody hell, we agree on something. Whatever the reason, Buster, the club or not, he should of spoke the truth.2 points

Glad you’ve done it. I did, but quickly deleted I’m 50/50 on this now. I totally understand where you’re coming from and I was of the same opinion as you a few weeks ago. I believe I said as much on here. But after hearing a little more I’ve changed my mind a bit. Forget all the local rivalry stuff I’m too long in the tooth for all that, I genuinely feel sorry for the loyal Lynn fans you’re all the innocent parties here, but your club is being run appallingly. Sheffield might not be giving up as easily as Ipswich. Let’s see what happens.2 points

I don't think he is fully fit either but little choice of guests, some that were tried were unavailable and with most teams racing on Friday leaves little scope, difficult when you have 2 newbies racing as well, shame about Stevie being ill, he was coming into some great form as well2 points
-
More bizarre Ben Barker thinks it's a good idea! Not such an issue for Glasgow, as we'll get him the first night.2 points
-
Why? R/R is probably the best option, 6 of the 9 clubs already riding on Friday. Not much choice between Berwick, Oxford and Plymouth riders2 points

Agreed. When riders are prepared to attack the track we get decent races at BP. Hats off to Rew tonight because he was prepared to have a right old go. He is a long way off the finished article but clearly isn’t taken in by all the negative crap regarding the Lions track. The top riders and those who are destined to go to the top will see BP as a challenge and be mindful that the very best are able to handle the so called technical tracks. Throttle jockeys who love the big tracks (some apparently have dozens of racing lines) will have to adapt if they are to progress in the sport.1 point

Bad night. Scott, king and Ellis didn’t perform at all. Feel sorry for Emil carrying the team and it isn’t the first time (Oxford). Positives is that Rew done well. That’s the only positive.1 point

As at least half a dozen Oxford riders have ridden against Oxford this year, I don't imagine Killeen would've gotten much grief if he guested for the Aces. I would've picked Killeen, but can also understand why Belle Vue would choose Mulford.1 point

If the will is there it would be interesting to test that legally. Regardless of the reasons a rider is released from his contract but can’t move elsewhere to earn a living as he has to remain declared in a team where he is no longer under contract. Only is speedway & highly illegal I would have thought.1 point

I know some blame BC for everything.. But how can Buster block him. Edit... I see what you meant now. Someone has explained the rules.1 point

He simply can’t ride elsewhere until Lynn sign a replacement. You can’t have a facility for a rider in any form whilst letting the rider you’re granting that facility for ride for someone else. As for the others in your team who knows? Still earning aren’t they. Maybe principals are not as important to them.1 point
-
On the flip side should KL still have a facility for him now the 28 days are up since his ban? They should now be looking to sign a replacement (not much out there to choose from) but that's no one else's fault1 point

Absolutely. Was always gonna be a non starter for me though.1 point

When it rains it pours for Garry and Mark. If Covatti’s injury is as rough as it seems then Batchelor… send for Batchelor!!1 point

Gotcha. The 75% average is for guests, not team positioning, so Sedgmen rides at 1, doesn't get a r/r outing. Actually helps Lynn, they're better off being able to give Basso an extra ride than Sedgmen.1 point

They wouldn’t sack him as he is an up and coming rider who would be picked up by a rival club straight away. Threats from different countries should not allow federation rules to be broken, regardless of money. His Polish team would have known about the clash at the start of the season. As a Brit, a 30 day ban should be the order of the day for withholding his services. Harsh but stops young riders chasing the money rather than the team he should be riding for.1 point

NO APPEAL FROM BRANDON ESTATES! As posted by the SCS group. WE have now received official confirmation that stadium owners Brandon Estates have not chosen to pursue a High Court challenge to the outcome of the recent planning inquiry. The appeal against the refusal of planning permission, arising from the November 2022 Planning Committee decision at Rugby Borough Council, was dismissed by inspector Helen Hockenhull in mid-January, after evidence from all parties had been heard last autumn. The remaining option available to the appellants would have been a Judicial Review based on a legal challenge (rather than a challenge to the decision itself). We understand speedway and stock car fans, and local residents, have been eager to know what might happen next, and there has been plenty of speculation; however, we had to wait for a six-week period to expire, which was the window in which the High Court challenge could be submitted. Recent correspondence with the Planning Inspectorate has confirmed there has been no challenge. We are naturally delighted that this marks the end of this particular part of the process, and also that our approach to each stage has been vindicated. We must once again place on record our thanks to everyone from the sporting and local community who stepped up in such spectacular numbers last summer to assist us with the cost of legal representation. Anyone who watched the planning inquiry, and will therefore now understand the way it was conducted, will have seen how being represented in this manner was crucial to our chances of success. Likewise to our witnesses and those who spoke in support of the stadium at the inquiry, your honesty and passion shone through under difficult scrutiny, and it is sincerely appreciated. There is now much for us to consider as a Campaign Group, doubtless with further meetings to be arranged over the coming weeks. At this stage it is too early to give any clear indication over what is to follow, or any timescales, other than to say that at every stage of the planning application we have worked through potential scenarios and considered our strategy under every likely circumstance. We thank everyone for their support – it has been hugely appreciated, and never more so than during the time of the Appeal – and can assure you that with this huge hurdle cleared, we retain an unstinting commitment to get speedway and stock car racing back to their rightful place at Brandon Stadium, and finally bring this saga to an end for the benefit of both the sports and the local community.1 point
