Some people want to see the crash to process what has happened and move forward, I understand that you don’t and neither do others and that’s fine but others might and that’s fine too, personally I want to see every crash, not because I like it but because it’s how I process it14 points

Because You can see it for yourself and be able to judge the possible seriousness of the situation instead of guessing and not really knowing what happend. No harm done posting this video. If You don't want to see it, don't click it. Thanks for posting the video @BluPanther10 points

The winter improvements at the GT tyres arena are fantastic, fans visiting for the Championship pairs next week will notice some major improvements from last season including dedicated toliet blocks, food huts, 1st/2nd bend disabled ramps, Cafe on the 1st bend including an extended balcony, a permanent referees box, the viewing area that now spans across the whole 3rd and 4th bend and a brand new FIM A+ rated air fence to name a few. It's remarkable what's been done in a short space of time from nothing! 👏 Also you can now walk around the whole arena because of the work to create a new viewing area on bends 3 and 4.6 points

I don't think that there is a single poster on here that doesn't understand, or would dispute any of that. If the event was financially unviable at Cardiff, then it had to go. I've no problem with that, I don't expect anyone to suffer financial loss for my convenience. It has to be said though, that Belle Vue has a similar problem to Cardiff, in that it has to hire a substantial amount of temporary seating, which has made ticket prices significantly higher than Cardiff. After hearing lots of "good riddance to rip off Cardiff" comments, the alternative that these people wanted has been proved to be more expensive, in both accommodation & ticketing costs. Imagine the meltdown on here if Cardiff had raised ticket prices to £120 in order to make it work with 20k people. Yet, because Belle Vue have managed to sell out a 1800 seat grandstand at that price, we've got people on here saying that it proves that they've got the pricing right. The original intention when putting the GP's in big stadiums was to raise the profile of the events and bring it to a bigger audience. Initially, It was successful but ultimately it has failed. For me that's sad, and the question has to be asked, why? Is the product that bad? "Fans just want to see close racing on properly prepared track" we're told. If that was the case, Belle Vue would be packed every week, but unfortunately it's not, and can't justify a permanent increase in capacity. Something is obviously badly wrong when the Principality gets 40k people to watch some pickup trucks with big wheels, driving over obstacles, but a world championship Speedway event is relegated to an audience of 6400. There were more people at Dean Court last week to watch Bournemouth's women's football team. Moving the event to Belle Vue may be a necessity, but I'm with IainB on this one, it's beyond me how it can be seen as a positive.5 points

Best wishes to Woffy. An absolute hero & has been the rider to drive British Speedway forward. Without him, we wouldn't be winning / reaching finals on the world stage. He's been the driving force to make TeamGB a professional outfit. A True Great British Speedway legend. Hope he & his family get all the support needed 🙏🏻❤️3 points

Pretty sure the reserves will do there job at home they have had plenty track time over the last few weeks to get some decent set up, if young Perry gates he will be hard to pass and I know he has been getting plenty help with his starting from the other lads in the team and Freddy will take a few scalps around Ashfield and hope that can boost his confidence on the away tracks3 points

Best wishes to Tai, horrible news. Went to his winter tour at Lynn and you can tell he was really determined to not only get over his elbow injury, but to regain his place in the GP’s. was looking forward to seeing how his return would go and now it’s over before he’s had a real crack at it.3 points

Air fence lifts AGAIN causing serious injuries... when is this design flaw going to be rectified?3 points
-
Impressed with all the riders today. I know it's only practicing but I thought everyone looked quick. Bowes took to the track really well. The improvements to the facilities are top notch. The air fence, refs box, new toilets, and expansion of the viewing is impressive. We now have the best track in the league and with a few more improvements it could be the best overall.3 points

Looks to be a decent Friday for a change and hoping for a close and entertaining contest. Edinburgh have a couple of riders new to UK this year so it remains to be seen if they can hit the ground running. Paco did well last year and would expect Kye Thomson to bounce back better after last seasons injuries. Victor looks to be on a bargain average so he should certainly improve on that and captain Sedgy looks to be on decent early form. Has to be said that Tigers have put together an overall strong looking side with an impressive quartet of Harris, Howarth, Flint and Thompson. If Boughen does what many people believe he is capable of then Tigers could be in for a good season. Very impressed with how Dan Thompson has come on recently in both leagues and I bet that some teams are envious as he will be the one to watch in 2025 I reckon. On paper at least it should be a close encounter especially if Monarchs 2 new boys can master a completely new track to them. That could well be key to the final outcome. .2 points

Absolutely devastated for Tai. Really seemed keen to push on this season after a rough one last. A rider that really took to Owlerton like a duck to water and could rely on to give 100%. Can only wish woffy all the best in his recovery and hope it's as pain free as possible.2 points

very bad news , i know its his call but, but you need to think about your body and health its a long time to still live your life after you retire. he has nothing else to prove, he's had a good career, got to think about his family now.2 points

I appreciate the economics of cancelling Cardiff but I actually thought the racing last year was pretty good and crowds would have increased whereas the previous year the racing was poor so crowds were down. The racing at Belle Vue will be good but to pay more to sit in a stand at a poorer venue is not great value.2 points

I have posted a few times that the GP's could do with with the knock out system being brought back. They were genuinely exciting GP's back then.2 points

Bit of a shake down for the Comets riders today at the press and practice, frazer bowes looked very impressive, and the new viewing area on bend 3+4 gave a good view, so now if any dust on bend 1+2 you can now escape it. The new toilets are ready to use, the GT tyres northside arena is looking even more impressive UTC2 points

So first meeting for the Scottish contingent of the league, Re- introduced Scottish cup. Will be interesting to see how both teams get on, some Glasgow riders have had some races under their belt and are looking good, Sedgy has had an outing but unsure about the other Monarchs, Victor has been over here before so knows what to expect, will be interesting to see how their other newbies fare. Looking forward to going to armadale on Friday, hope the weather plays fair, forecast ok at present. As for prediction, I think it will be a reasonably close encounter but obviously hoping for a Glasgow win.1 point

Extremely sad. The air fence should not have lifted. When is speedway going to fix this problem?1 point

Horrible crash with no opportunity to get away from the bike. All the best to Tai, I was really looking forward to him giving Jason and Emil a real test around Foxhall this season.1 point

I’m hoping Cooper Rushden will be riding in this meeting as he is supposedly the next best up and coming British youngster.1 point

I don't see how there's any doubt that we would be granted a facility. Plymouth started the season without Covatti when he got injured riding in Argentina, so why wouldn't we?1 point

Not a Tai fan ,but best wishes on good recovery, has had nothing but bad luck with his crashes and serious injury’s.He has always been a class act on the bike and a very safe rider and opponent .Sad News.1 point

Makes me feel sick just reading it, My best wishes go out to Tai and everyone associated with him and I pray that we hear some sort of positive news on Monday instead of hearing something that nobody wants to hear. Unofficially, it is known that the speedway rider suffered many fractures. Injuries to both arms, both legs and broken ribs are suspected. After the fall, he was given strong anesthetics. An official announcement on Tai Woffinden's health is expected on Monday.1 point

It’s 31 if Brady & Dan go through the card (33-2, Ht 13 & 15). That said if they are riding that well then we still only need 14 from the rest as they’d win the super heat and get the 2 match points. Looking forward to seeing how The Aces perform as a team in the league qualifiers after the Craven and early season challenge meetings.1 point

Are there two Drew Kemps? According to the Star the one who rides for Leicester was born in Germany and the one who rides for Berwick was born in England.1 point

It's a fair point @AFCB Wildcat makes, there were no end of floaters that went to Cardiff, just for the experience. I've taken friends in the past and I was going to meet up with a couple from Cardiff this year and we were all going in. My mum's hairdresser's husband and his mates used to go down from Leicester... even though they don't normally go to Speedway! And that's just me Billy no mates! How anybody can paint a reduction in crowd from 20,000 minimum to 6,500 as a positive is completely beyond me smh.1 point
