  1. Aren't you just the voice of reason this country needs 🙄. You have an issue with Craig, that's up to you he's marmite always has been. But to come on preaching how holier than though you are because you'd never get dragged in..you have no idea if you would or not. You may think you won't but it can come to anyone. There's being outspoken and there's being a banger, in this occasion you would be the latter

  2. I made the point about freeloaders years back and took a lot of stick for it, which is fine but the issue still remains, as an ex rider and various other jobs within the sport I still pay to watch speedway and have no problem with that, I’m just a fan now irrespective of the past but unfortunately there are a good number of ex riders, mechanics, tuners, sponsors and various others who don’t pay and moan like hell when they are asked to pay, if the sport was attracting 1000s every week it wouldn’t be such an issue but it’s not but these selfish (imo) people don’t really care for the future of the sport only that they can have a nights entertainment for free. I’ll get of my soapbox now 😜 and yes all mechanics should have team shirts provided by the club, the club buys a job lot of all sizes and takes them home to wash and brings them back, leaves them in the changing rooms and mechanics pick one wear it and leave it in changing rooms at end of meeting to be washed again, it’s not a great expense and it’s not going to bring fans back to speedway but it’s another little thing and a lot of little things make a difference, optics matter to people looking in on the sport

  3. The only thing we do know is that the day before Leicester's press and practice his father informed the club that he wasn't ready to ride Speedway. I think the clubs he was contracted to ride for, and their fans, deserve some kind of explanation, even if it's just a "personal reasons" statement and in Bewick's case some kind of acknowledgement of the events at Leicester... it's not too much to ask from a professional sportsman and or club.

  5. Speaking as someone who unfortunately has some experience with parking issues, I was recently hit for 3x £60 'illegal parking excesses" - when I was parked in areas / spaces I visit regularly - and / or had correctly registered to park there, I challenged the 'notices' & the fines were correctly cancelled (tip for the day: keep / print / save such permission replies). Stating the obvious: if there is a fone no. or website on such notices, & there should be, call it or msg them for info advice / info, or ask in the shop, staff & customers, could save a lot of possible hassle later, can't be too sure. Hope this helps....

  6. Spoke to a few Brum fans who told me last night was deffo one of the better matches they have witnessed! I thought it was average at best and won't be going back despite being fairly local for me. Speedway continues to shoot itself in the foot. You now have riders who will entertain and you give them that to race on?

  8. Guy paid less than Sackers recycling did before him for a good few years. He couldn’t believe he got it for a “song”. That isn’t the case now but that’s only due to inflation and rising costs all around. The partner sponsors are very good at Ipswich. Collectively they help hugely.

  9. I agree huge majority of the fans haven’t a clue what’s going on regarding Craig Cook.Surely a simple statement from the Promotion saying that Craig is having personal problems which they are trying to resolve(if that is the case?) would have been suffice.Instead we get all sorts mixed messages from people which doesn’t help anybody(Club or Fans or the sport).

  13. Somehow they’ll manage to fit everyone in again. Manipulate the system to get a rider who graduated out of the RS system in ‘24 back into it for ‘25. Probably next year will manage to slip D Thompson back into the RS scheme.

  14. Not last Thursday or indeed most Thursdays at Sheffield nowadays where the times range from 60-64 seconds And how many years did it take jack holder to go faster than Ricky ashworth ?

  15. Surely with belle Vue not being a big money club,, it would be a cheaper version like,,, I can't believe it's not butter or utterly butterly 😜

  17. Oxford another example of this. Their “official” website has no mention of last Thursdays meeting with Ipswich, no preview of tomorrow’s meeting at Foxhall either. Amateur beyond belief. They’re not alone sadly, a few clubs have diabolical social media coverage. Sort yourselves out ffs!

  18. Just because Poole wanted Dan T, doesn't mean he wanted to go to Poole. I'm sure every club in the league would've wanted to sign Dan, but that doesn't mean they missed a trick in not ensuring his signing.

  19. I think I can confidently speak on behalf of most of not all witches fans on here, we have no issue with belle vue mate, it’s you and your inane drivel you spout daily about us being a money club and this that and the other 👍

  20. Just stumbled across this https://ipswichwitches.co/video/ipswich-v-belle-vue-2019/ What a race this was! The race with Doyle, Emil, Holder and Musielak a couple of season’s ago sticks in the memory, but this tops it.

  21. https://speedwayhub.com/belle-vue-aces-sign-tate-zischke-in-place-of-connor-mountain/ Ah but the pilar of the Speedway community that is Belle Vue, never do things for their own personal gain, it’s always for the benefit of others. Bless their little hearts. Young Brit, pops in 11 points at Oxford, gets axed for another Aussie. You do talk some utter sh!t.

  22. Disgraceful comments... Alcoholism is recognised as being often directly linked to mental health issues therefore anyone isn't "just an alcoholic"... I presume therefore that a rider must also have let down his team because he has broken his leg? Oh, hang on, that's visual isn't it? He MUST be genuine because we can see the plaster his leg is wrapped in.. It is only Speedway, a very, very tiny sport watched nationally by a very small portion of the country.. And by just a few hundred in Berwick... If he doesn't ride this year, I am sure the world will move on.. No idea what is wrong with the lad, if anything at all, but, if there is, hopefully he can sort it... Best Wishes to him...

  24. It’s quite clear that Louis won’t pay over the odds as he let Rew go because Brum offered him a better deal. In the time that I’ve been attending Ipswich they have been the opposite to cheque book speedway. One thing Chris has done is turn a well run club in to a highly professional outfit. You only need to look at the way they are all kitted out even down to matching club chairs for the pits. As for Tom I think it was clear he wanted to move to Ipswich & who can blame him wanting to be part of the most professional outfit in British speedway. If only the others & the sport in general could match it.

  25. Len Silver was the man for restricting access. He would wait at the gate & point at the sign that stated 1 rider 1 mechanic 1 guest then he would count the number of spare heads. The rider would know nothing until he got his pay cheque with deductions for extra persons.

  26. It was noticeable at Press and Practice how the old place has been spruced up a lot. Pits now very smart compared to before; the turrets are sparkling white, the 'stand' has been smartened up, and a new viewing area for the riders added on bend 4, which allows an additional viewing space on that bend for the public. Clearly a lot of hard work has gone on - a big well done to everyone. Now we just need a bit more material on the track after Saturday's wind.......

  27. I parked in the one stop for the Leicester match and haven't received a ticket (yet). In fact there were loads of people parked in there when I returned to my car after the match, more so than when Asda was 24hr.

  28. I did, they didn't: informed them all (3 diff organisations) I'd therefore see them in court. Suddenly none of them 'wished to play ball' for some reason. I can't imagine why😉....

  29. They really are taking the p*** now. Once again, zero communication to the supporters and the paying public are kept in the dark until they've paid out of their pockets.

  30. And also, you won't get to feel so superior, as well as obviously getting that wonderful satisfaction at laughing at the odd Neanderthal that still roams the world... Seriously though, I think questions should be asked in Parliament about the issues facing the Lions and the Bandits from the Leicester and Berwick Upon Tweed MP's... It must mean so much to the lives of so many of their constituents.... I am sure Sir Keir would take great interest in such a major situation, as it will dwarf whatever else he currently is dealing with... Edit. Sir Keir has just answered a question about the issue and his response was... "Speedway? Is that still going?"...

  32. There is no doubt Guy Nicholls has ploughed decent coin into Ipswich but in all fairness, they had years of floating round at the bottom whilst other clubs were splashing the cash so can't really begrudge them even if they are spending big money. The side they have built looks ridiculous, the fact the top 3 are scoring so poor by their own standards and they are still winning is ominous for the rest of the league. When Doyle and Emil get going it will take some team to stop them.

  36. More dirt, moisture held into it creates more lines, if there was actually some grip on the outside at Perry bar the other night we wouldn’t have ended up with a blue groove would we, but because of the track conditions there was literally one line or you went backwards if you drifted off it and the rider wore that one line out!

  37. I think fricke thought he’d done enough in the turn to kill cams speed rather than a deliberate nudge and he was caught unawares by cam still winding it on round the outside! Dad and I went to Mildenhall pretty much every weekend that first season he came over as a 15 year old mid season and was just beating everyone, he was an absolutely unreal raw talent, and very nearly won mildenhall the grand final, narrowly losing out to the two worrall brothers

  38. Vuolas is a rider with potential but he's at the wrong club at the wrong time imo. Birmingham fans are sick of losing at Home and patience is thin, The fans need experienced riders who are ready to do a job now just to get a few wins at Perry Barr. Riders who've got potential to become a good rider in the future are a good fit for top end clubs because they've got the firepower to still win meetings on a regular basis. Tate Zischke at Belle Vue being a prime example of that.

  39. maybe Ipswich is bit different to others, but the attendances at Foxhall seem to be consistently good no matter the opposition/competition or whether a play off place has already been confirmed. They rarely if ever, seem to drop below a noticeable level. The only visible difference is a bigger than normal increase which occurs on Bank Holidays, and when the team is doing particularly well. I guess it helps when your team has two superstars leading the team who entertain no matter what the circumstances. Always worth the entrance fee.

  40. When you are paid per point I would suggest zero complacency... The Home meetings are where the vast majority of riders make their money, so will "fill their boots" if they get a chance to... The only threat to the Witches this season for me is their own fans getting bored of them hammering teams at Foxhall and then picking and choosing meetings... (5-1's can be some of the most boring races to watch given one rider often just follows their team mate as the rider in third can be miles away)... Ironically though they will attract some good attendances away from home, with their opponents reaping all the financial benefit... I am even debating whether to attend Sheffield when the Witches are there.. And I haven't travelled anywhere other than BV for years as no team match ups have given me any interest in attending...

  41. Todays engines rev far to high & just breed throttle jockeys. The days of the highly skilled riders that could use throttle control to make the machine work to its best are sadly lost. It only seems a few years back that we were trying to make an engine rev to 10,000RPM & now they are in excess 0f 18,000RPM & we require a limiter at 13,500 which means nearly 30% of the engines capabilities are unavailable & yet they still rip a tyre to shreds in a couple of races. I think a limiter is a bad choice, it's just something else to go wrong or be by-passed. My opinion is to limit the bore size which will increase the stroke to achieve 500cc & massivly reduce the RPM back to a level where the motor will work efficently at lower revs & provide a much smoother working band for the riders

  43. It would require: 1 a complete reshaping of the club/rider relationship, including riders becoming employees 2 strong independent regulation .... and neither of those are going to happen

  44. I once travelled with a meeting official and we were waved into the stadium free of charge. Team manager fair enough, but me? I went and paid like everyone else. Later on in the pits (before bikes started and fans allowed in) I was chatting to an acquaintance who had also come in with a meeting official only they had not gone to pay like I did. They could well afford it and were boasting about getting in for free. I'm not looking for a pat on the back just making a point that some people are freeloaders and British Speedway needs to be stricter about their guest list!

  47. But if they all dress the same I won't know which mechanic is which.... You could only tell them apart by their mechanicing styles.... Much better as it used to be... 25 year old Monsters Of Rock T shirt, dirty jeans at least one size too small, meaning plenty of arse crack on show when you are bent over sorting out the bike... We don't need progress...

  48. Ipswich from 1-7 are a powerful team with no weak links at all, I would be surprised if they don’t get beat occasionally on the road but other than Belle Vue or Sheffield it’s not looking likely from anyone else, at Foxhall unless they have a mare of a meeting and suffer like they did in 2024 it looks likely they will go unbeaten and a lot of the scorelines are going to be 30 point plus hammerings. They have built well taking full advantage of generous British discounts including a massive discount for ex RS Dan Thompson and it will be interesting to see the final GSA for this team this year. Foxhall is a nice viewing arena and the facilities are good but the racetrack isn’t and never has been conducive to good racing.

  49. Not really interested in what goes on in the GPs but league racing is getting too bloated for its own good, you only need one mechanic per rider, everyone else can watch from the terraces, British speedway long time problem is the sport being run by the riders for the riders and look where we are
