Not just a top a rider though, just zmarzlik, he is the exception the others are no more enticing than riders like Vinny foord, speedway for me is about the team not the individual, my team, my club my affiliation and I want to see different teams come to my club not the same team every few weeks, sadly I don’t have a team anymore so I struggle to get motivated to follow the league structure but seeing different teams at least gives me interest but a 5 team league is just not appealing7 points

I hope you are right, he's the next cab off the rank for GB so to see him flourish again in 2026 would be great. Exoect him to be in the SWC team. Its a pity when people just laugh at opinions on here without presenting their own argument as to why they disagree.3 points

My excitement for the 26 season is starting to return. Sheffield, the team with the amazing track and fair minded fans is confirmed so that makes 4 and now I see Bomber is confirmed too. And Strictly finishes tonight. Happy days …2 points

It's called passion, and speedway would be all the poorer if we didn't have characters who possess a bit.2 points

I might understand that more of Doyle was still a 9+ rider, but now he dropped below 8, feel this could be a good level for him to get back to winning ways? Also does dropping down a league in Poland count as racing the top boys?2 points

i thought we needed characters like this, cant fault him for speaking his mind..2 points

He certainly owes me nothing as I don't support Ipswich A sports club is not a normal business, if you think it can be closed down without explanation then fair enough Imagine if that were Ipswich Town for example2 points

Well I had set aside an hour to go through the deluge of posts you would expect after the big first signing announcement Now I've read all 3 and have a spare 59 minutes2 points

We often hear from football club owners that they are the 'custodians' of the club and are passing through. Do you ever hear a speedway promoter say that?1 point

Fans of the former English non-league team Colne Dynamoes were extremely angry when the club's owner pulled the plug on the team in 1990 after being denied entry into the Football Conference due to ground issues. The owner, Graham White, reportedly "shat on every one of them" and "wouldn't have been safe walking around the town for some time" due to the intense fan anger. The Demise of Colne Dynamoes Colne Dynamoes rapidly rose through the non-league ranks in the late 1980s, winning the FA Vase in 1988 and attracting large crowds, sometimes over 1,000 people. Their rapid ascent, however, was their downfall. Ground Issues: As the team achieved success and looked set for promotion to the Vauxhall Conference (the highest tier of non-league football at the time), it became clear their Holt House ground did not meet the required standards. Failed Ground Share: White attempted to secure a ground-sharing agreement with nearby Burnley FC, a club he had previously tried to buy, but the Burnley board refused the offer. Club Closure: After plans for a new stadium failed to materialise and facing the prospect of not being promoted despite their on-field success, Graham White abruptly dissolved the club, much to the fury of its dedicated fanbase. The demise remains one of non-league football's great mysteries, often cited as a classic case of "too much too quickly".1 point

With respect it doesn’t mean that at all, they may have just signed a rider on the same/similar average to Jacob that they believe is better value/has more scope for improvement?1 point

The worst thing he did for me, was throwing his crash helmet. Stupid thing to do, when you're relying on it to possibly save your life. I've never understood riders who do this.1 point

Doesn’t he have to factor in he needs a visa to live here? he has a house in Warrington with his girlfriend/wife, so would of said until he gets citizenship he has no choice but to ride here1 point

Yes all that but to counter... easier rides in the UK, more race wins available, confidence higher, less pressure, more familiar surroundings. With many saying that a lot about being successful in sport is what's going on in your head, these things can't be ignored.1 point

You do have to consider the logistics for these top riders... Having to have machines and mechanics over here, and also just to get here themselves, when they could live in Poland and ride at the weekend there, Sweden on Tuesday, and go into Denmark on Wednesday, and back across the sea into Poland ready for the weekend.. And, over here, all to ride against much lesser opponents than they would find in Sweden and Poland, (and looking at Denmark's level of signings for next year, Denmark too)... They will want to go head to head against the best as often as possible as it keeps themselves sharp.. And, without the TV money coming in, it would be quite conceivable that their pay rates over here will also be "different" next season, from the recent seasons just gone...1 point

Trying not to be negative to speedway and the Comets promotion, BUT at the moment clubs are following rules talked about, but until the postponed AGM in early January, nothing is totally agreed and signed off, , and could change drastically if the rubbish hits the fan with the top league 🤔 so maybe the comets have a team sorted and signed, but are waiting until after the AGM to confirm things.1 point

And let’s not forget Brady’s incredible foresight to save himself of the GP by riding sh**% in the KO cup back in March.1 point

But being an intelligent young lad, unlike some supporters, he will learn and grow from the experience no matter if he struggles or thrives. When i read posts like yours it makes it so easy to see why so many young British riders quit so early.1 point

He has done so much for speedway, especially in Ipswich. He owes nothing to you or anyone else!1 point

Racking bonus points up robs the system of a true average. Clever was of maintaining the longevity of your career by tucking in behind your team mate1 point

For the record has Chris Louis gone public on the real reason for putting the club up for sale? Has he actually stated that he does not agree with the way the sport has been run? Or could it be that there are other reasons, which would be private like family/ health reasons. Chris Louis comes across a proud man, could he live with the idea that he was the man to possibly shutdown Ipswich speedway. Or does he have a buyer waiting to takeover the club.1 point

I suspect that Doyle may consider riding for either Ipswich or Swindon if someone comes along with the readies to fund the operation. Therefore what if the Ipswich licence was transferred to another track/stadia? Perhaps CL has gone abroad knowing a deal is done. Frankly no one here has any idea as to where the club stands and for all he has said I doubt he would leave Ipswich without a speedway team. As to what level that team is remains to be seen but I am sure speedway will feature at Foxhall in 2026 and beyond. Even a year out as NORA affiliated track simply to keep the track open should not be dismissed as an option. It depends on so many factors such as the rent for the stadium facilities etc. Let’s hope bikes are heard come March 2026.1 point

Agreed. Im bored of waiting now. Im going to purchase a season ticket regardless of the last signings but im still waiting for them to be announced before I do.1 point

Must be something in the water down Ipswich way... all these people praising Mr Louis for potentially closing a perfectly viable speedway club down because he couldn't get his way... quite unfathomable.1 point

Everyone knew the situation, Cairns was always in the team when he became available so not dropped as they were only on temporary contracts.1 point

So Sheffield now join Belle Vue, Leicester, and Kings Lynn in confirming their place in the Premiership in 2026. Complete radio silence from Ipswich way leaving their supporters completely in the dark as to whether they’ll see any speedway next year. Meanwhile, the clubs owner has buggered off to Australia, at the most crucial time in the clubs history. Louis has treated the Ipswich supporters abysmally here I’m afraid.1 point

It's surely the other way around... all these riders have been signed up to CL clubs for weeks1 point
