Rumours.....talk to me! I can confirm that the rumours suggesting that Terry Tibbs has acquired the promotion rights at Ipswich Speedway to be just that rumours! Yes, Brother Louis Louis Louis and his assistant Richie Hawkeye did attend the offices of T Tibbs Motors (Chingford) Limited earlier this month to discuss a potential deal! I offered young Christopher a substantial sum of ready's, plus my 2017 Mazz-a-rati which was recently serviced and passed it's MOT with only one observation, the free use of Krystof Stojanowski's caravan which I purchased from The Isle of Wight in 2009 and free oil massage whenever he and Hawkeye wanted from my beautiful Swedish wife Greta! Brother Louis was obviously tempted as he asked to see my full business plan for the day to day running of the club, I advised him that Main Man Rogers would be installed as Head of Operations, where he would be assisted by the vastly experienced Jimmy Lynch as Director of Speedway and his protégé Big Blayne Scroggins would be Team Manager, I even offered Richie Hawkeye the opportunity to be Main Man Rogers' assistant so that he could learn all about how to run a club successfully! After much pondering and signs he was up for the deal, Brother Louis Louis Louis asked for a few days to think about things, during which time Stojanowski's caravan was moved from Busty C's holiday village in Norfolk to become the VIP lounge at Buxton! I think this news may have upset Brother Louis, as he sent Richie Hawkeye down to Chingford with a note declining my most generous proposal! I tickled Richie Hawkeye's chin, gave him a little wiggly woo, even offered him a free place on the next Main Man Rogers how to promote speedway seminar but he said Brother Louis mind was made up, it was no! So that's it from me, thank you goodnight, much love Terence!6 points

I'm sure Connor Mountain is thinking like that, he got dropped for Zischke the previous year when averaging above 4.00!5 points

Welcome aboard fella! The club you never want to join and the one you hope beyond hope you will be able to rescind membership to at some time in the future Unfortunately after originally only accepting a temporary paper membership certificate for it I have just renewed with a fully laminated version5 points

I genuinely had no idea who she was before reading this thread so can't comment on that side except that it would be interesting to know how they came to the decision to choose her for it. It just looks so amateur though. Cameo is to wish people happy birthday or see who's dumb enough to say hello to Mike Hunt, not for what should be a serious competition in a professional sport. You even have the final two sides picked out at the same time! Getting 'a name' to do the draw is a solid idea but surely there were better ways of going about it. As an example TNT commentator Darren Fletcher has some history with the sport, could he have been asked and maybe got someone like Ally McCoist to help out, if I remember correctly he's mentioned Glasgow on his radio show in the last year or so.4 points

There’ll be season tickets and they’ll be discounted. How many actually gets sold is anyone’s guess. My guess is nowhere near as many as last year! I’ve had a pop before about this forum being full of miserable b@stards and everyone being glass half empty and seemingly whinging about anything and everything. But I’m now a fully paid up member. I’m bored to tears with it all and I’ve got to the point where I’m not all that bothered whether we run or not. They need to put all their efforts in to Northampton to get a fifth team running, let them sign the riders earmarked for Ipswich and let them crack on with it. Absolutely desperate stuff all round. They need to make sure they have a cunning plan for 2027 because another winter like this would practically kill it all off stone dead.4 points

As has Alan Brazil and both him and Mcoist do a show together... And both are pals with "Arry.. 10 mins on Talksport Breakfast would be much better I would suggest .. Maybe the Prem could do this... Although, they would need to pad it out a bit after the teams have been drawn in 45 secs...3 points

‘ Dropping the minimum level to 2.00 is a big worry with the heat leader calibre being drafted in as i can see riders getting lapped not through falls just lackof speed and thats a worry. ‘ The league is becoming as big a mess as the premiership , bringing in championship 2nd strings , some of which have been around for years, and expecting new 16 year olds in their first season to mix it with them with just 5 home matches to get dialled in to any sort of home advantage is just ridiculous. Its not what this division should be doing.3 points

Very confusing as to why neither Kennedy boys are back. Declan for his first season did well and was only going to get better. Zaine was one of the only shining lights last season for the scorpions. from what I’ve heard with Zaine is that he was initially given a team spot and then was told the spot was no longer his. thus far the scorpion side looks very concerning. After receiving the wooden spoon last season, it looks almost like there going for it again this season.2 points

It is a good looking and competitive Championship, the usual suspects Poole, Oxford and Glasgow will no doubt be up there, all 3 look strong. Edinburgh have a strong looking reserve pair (believe Loftus will be one of the best signings on his average) Plymouth strong top 2, plus Klima at reserve should clean up (if he turns up every week) Redcar don’t look as strong as last year, can’t see that side being a play off team. But they do have a very strong reserve pair. Likewise with Berwick they’ll be competitive especially at home, but will probably fall short of the play offs. Scunthorpe do look weak, but I’d imagine once they make changes once Pickering’s average drops they might become more competitive away. Workington have the best looking side since we’ve relaunched. Should be miles more competitive away from home in 2026, and I’m confident we can take that 4th spot again. 1st Glasgow 2nd Oxford 3rd Poole Plymouth/Edinburgh/Workington fighting for 4th. 7th Berwick 8th Redcar 9th Scunthorpe2 points

The First Division licence moved to Eastville along with riders such as Crump and Gresham, but Newport continued in the National League. Similar to the Oxford/White City and Newcastle/Reading moves. For interest, the cost of the licence when Ipswich bought the one from the West Ham promotion prior to the 1972 season was £4,000 according to John Berry.2 points

Could start the season in June and run the complete league programme before the end of August. Doesn’t matter if Ipswich open late only 8 home league fixtures & a couple of ko cup if you’re lucky2 points

So just Buxton then? Would have thought the development needs of all the others in a development league would take priority over 1 stand alone club. The league has lost Belle Vue, Sheffield/Scunthorpe, and Plymouth by going professional rather than development.2 points

The news was a new logo. Funny actually because I reached out to them a couple months ago asking if they'd want me to design them a new team logo for the new season (I even suggested it from the perspective of "this could be a fresh start for you under the new management) and they promptly ignored me 😂2 points

I did not sub to BSN in 2025 and not because of their service but they can only work with what they are given and the product of British Speedway is in the main crap. I don't have a team to support anymore so as a neutral i want to see good racing and most tracks now are so slick because the bikes cant handle anything else. There is no variety with so few clubs and riders riding for multiple, for me its not worth it. Nor do i have cable tv sky etc I stick with watching highlights on social media and looking through more vintage stuff (ie pre laydowns)2 points

A few years ago this division was as almost perfect as it could have been... Competitive meetings with a mix of experienced riders and new riders developing... I can only presume it was seen by some as "too good", and much better than what was being delivered, for considerably higher entrance fees, in other leagues, so changes were made..2 points

A decent offer was made by Two Premiership promotors in conjunction with Phil Morris to buy the Witches but this was turned down by Chris Louis as he felt it was worth more and had private interest . The latest I heard early this week was the proposed new owners were waiting on signing a number 1 before completing the payment for the sale transaction but do have most of the team signed1 point

If what you say about Zaine is correct ? then looks out of order. I hope he gets fixed up elsewhere and is back to prove a point. Same with Dec if he misses out. Pickering is going to be very busy in all our fixtures. But he lacks support unless someone steps up big time - Luke ?. I see the idea with MPT he is very capable around Scunny. But...and there always is one can he stay fit ?. As I have said I do not see this Scorpions team looking like this at the end of May. I usually say "I dont like changing". But from this far out I have to say I think we will have to.😳1 point

Just imagine the kicking Sheffield would get on this forum if they unveiled a new logo drawn by a fan. They'd be accused of turning the club logo into some cheap Blue Peter competition - send in your drawings. Sheffield have done the right thing by getting their branding done professionally.1 point

Take a chill pill. There's no way Ipswich won't be holding speedway in 2026, see you at the first fixture🙂. The last thing the sport needs is vultures circling whilst not paying any money to support it 🙂1 point

Yes and they finished 3pts off the bottom, this year i think they will be overtaken by Plymouth. Poole and Glasgow top 2 Redcar, Edinburgh, Oxford and Berwick fighting out for play off spots......probably the most interesting aspect of the season Worky & Plymouth Scunthorpe bottom1 point

Don't worry, things are happening "behind the scenes" and there's 2 big things happening, one is 99% (that could have been Linda Lucardigate) and the other 90% and if they both come off... Speedway in the UK will be just like Polish Speedway, and you can take that to the bank 😂1 point

The whole Premiership situation is a disaster.Virtually total silence to the fans who they expect just to turn up and pay their money. The Premiership is on its knees and cannot survive much longer in this situation,no one with any sense is going to invest in something that looks like it’s in dire trouble. Speedway needs total rethink in GB.2 leagues with the same riders in both is not the long Term answer .IMO.1 point

You've got to laugh at Reid Battye's quote about Berwick...... “I’ve heard it’s a really big speedway town and it’s on the coast. I live near the beach in Australia so it’s probably the same – just a bit colder!” Me thinks he's in for a bit of a shock1 point

Just over seven weeks to go until Klindt’s testimonial for the season curtain raiser. Still have no (active) owner, Manager, team, sponsorship? Track man? So much to be done in such a short space of time. That’s without the bigger picture of fixtures to be sorted for all clubs as well as admission prices and season tickets etc etc. It’s been an absolute sh!tshow this winter let’s be honest.1 point
