from someone who has been to most British GP's...from Wembley, Cardiif, Belle Vue etc....none of them come close to what we are being served up right now, none of them. Instead of people trying to find faults with the last two nights of racing, try and draw on the positives. I for one loved both nights, admittedly I only went to the last night meeting but the atmosphere was very good, the racing was good and dare i say the whole event was run well. Only thing missing was a British rider on the rostrum but the racing made up for that. Cannot wait for next years two rounds at Belle Vue.9 points

I can speak a fair bit of Polish so can translate some of it .. They said that... "Brady Kurtz was hard charging".. And that he was "coming on strong".... And also, at the end, said "this is Speedway out of the top drawer"... "SPEEDWAYYYYY!!!!!"6 points

The younger riders who rode last night, and those watching on TV, or in the stands, could truly be traumatised by watching the level of capability of the very best.... They must see a gulf between their level and the level of the top lads... People say that want "new faces" in the GP's, but the bottom line is the older heads, of many GP years standing, are still considerably better, and even, still now, more attacking and aggressive.... Add in Bewley, Lindgren and Kubera to this weekends action and it would have raised it up even more, even higher from the incredible standard it was....5 points

Always find it funny watching Pijper complain when someone has hit him. The guys wiped himself and others out the majority of his career. Not much going on between the ears. Well done cooper on the win.4 points

From 2007 to 2009, the FIM introduced a rule that gave the reigning World Under-21 Champion a direct, automatic permanent spot in the following year's senior Speedway Grand Prix series. Only two riders ever successfully took advantage of that specific golden ticket before the rule was scrapped: Emil Sayfutdinov: He won the Under-21 World Championship in 2007 (and successfully defended it in 2008). Because of the 2007 win, he was handed an automatic full-time spot for the 2009 senior Speedway Grand Prix series. He exploded onto the senior scene that year, winning his very first GP round at Prague and finishing 3rd in the world overall as a rookie. Darcy Ward: The brilliant Aussie won the Under-21 title in 2009, which technically qualified him for the 2010 Grand Prix. However, because he was still so young, he and his management chose to turn down the full-time spot to focus on his development, opting to take a couple of wild card appearances instead. The FIM quickly realized that throwing a 20- or 21-year-old straight into the brutal, high-pressure world of full-time Grand Prix racing could sometimes do more harm than good to a young rider's career. It was a massive financial, physical and mental jump, and if a rider wasn't truly ready, a tough year in the GPs could completely shatter their confidence. By 2010, they reverted back to the system we have today: making the juniors qualify through the senior GP Challenge or earn it via performance-based wild cards. Parnitskyi has, of course, been given his spot due to DJ Woffy pulling out.4 points

A slow start but brilliant racing again once it got going, ending with a superb final. The last two nights have shown how great this sport can be. If only that could be replicated every week across the country.4 points

There are some on here who cant wait to put the boot into the track, whats happened to the best track in the world etc, to save egg on the face maybe they should actually wait and see how the track develops, conditions affect racing, and there has never been a track anywhere in the world that can produce top class racing every meeting. A bad meeting here still trumps the racing elsewhere.4 points

His lack of competitiveness has drawn a lot of comment in this forum. He's a 19 year old kid, if there's any criticism due its to the clowns who think these youngsters, however brilliant they may be, can make up for the 10+ years more experience and developed reflexes, coordination and racecraft of genuine GP contestants. Hopefully getting beaten half a lap in these events doesn't destroy his confidence and he can continue to develop and capitalize on his enormous natural talent.4 points

Not a nice way to talk about someone who has had serious health issues.3 points

When you think Tom is the best we have got at 24 it puts into perspective the shortage of young GB triders who could compete at GP level.Think we are really relying on Cairns,Rushen and Harrison to come through in the future but they are still young and along way behind the level .Meanwhile the Danes and Poles have a handful just of the pace.3 points

The GP's serve up, easily, some of the best racing I have ever watched... A ridiculous level of ability shown these days by the top riders... Reactions are hair trigger and made whilst doing over 80mph, with other riders within a few yards doing exactly the same... Last night MJJ, 100% was considering a dive bomb, block pass on Zmarzlik into turns one and two when Kurtz came underneath the pair of them like an express train... Amazing racing from all three involved... Zmarzlik almost hit MJJ's back wheel, went straight, locked up, went to last, and still passed Holder within a lap!!! An incredible race, on an incredible track which serves up passing opportunities from front to back in almost every race...3 points

Same for me, I kicked the habit when they hit £1 I think... try it, it's so liberating... a bit like kicking social media 😂3 points

Agreed. I wonder if they could squeeze Brady Kurtz in instead? Maybe Zmarzlik would do a fortnight?3 points

I see the BSF jealous whingers are at it again. Can’t pass, only one outside line, bollocks.3 points

In very poor taste IMO. I actually liked Mr Shovlar's post where he criticised your original post.2 points

Just shows how far the standard of the younger generation has dropped. i went to the 2003 u21 final at Sheffield which Stead won, Harris was a 9 point number 1 for Trelawny and didnt even make the final. Lee Richardson in 99 won the world under 21 final in a stellar line up. You now have second tier reserves on the podium. what on earth has happened to junior speedway in the uk?2 points

I sometimes wonder whether the commentators are watching the same meeting as I am, how could you not notice there aren't 4 riders at the tapes 🤷♂️2 points

They should have ran it at Cardiff... I bet the stream would have connected if it had been ran at Cardiff... Loads of shops with free WiFi in Cardiff too, so that would have helped connnecting... And Cardiff has a roof too, to keep the internet in.... Should have ran it at Cardiff...2 points

They just announced they are aware there is a problem and are trying to fix it.2 points

Is it running? All I get when logging in is “oops it seems your request was not successful”!2 points

Bewley and Holder were very talented as it has proved.2 points

I agree any youngster would have to be special Talent to come in mix it straight away with these seasoned GP guys they don’t take prisoners. That one of the reasons I think Kvech is underrated he is still only 24.2 points

Blue skies, bit of cloud, strong wind, 18.5c according to my car (10 miles from track). 😁2 points

IMO the track is one of the best in the world ,over two nights it provided excellent racing and last nights final was "out of the top drawer" (even though I am a BZ fan ) Kurtz was a worthy winner .2 points
-
Probably due to weather forecast of rain shorty(which didn’t materialise) spoiled the end of Fri meeting. they can’t win really regarding weather.2 points

I was in the East Stand on the third turn too for both nights. An absolutely fantastic place to watch from2 points

Barring injury I think the same , I have never seen another rider with such bike control !2 points

Thanks for the info......but filling in a "program" has always been a big part of speedway with me, old habits are hard to die.2 points
-
I've said before I'd do away with programmes, they're an atmosphere killer too many folk with their noses buried in their programmes to join in with the rest of the crowd... but at £10 a pop they're a nice little earner.2 points

Agree. And a disgusting personality/attitude to go with it. Bewley was our main hope, chalk and cheese compared to Lambert. A likeable character, pure box office to watch and no fear. hopefully this nasty leg break wont dent his future.2 points

Just watched heat nine where Kurtz, brilliantly, went from third to first. . The commentators are going mad at the end of the race, and the camera pans to the Grandstand. Rows and rows of seated fans, heads down, pens out, and programme filling in... "Did you get the time of the last one?"..2 points
-
I really hope Brady becomes champion this season, I like him, and Bewley. Belle Vue fans have two of the best talents in the world and should feel blessed to have them at NSS every other week 👏🏻 good meeting in the end after heat 8 it picked up. Enjoyable evening of speedway! I’ll be at Wroclaw so I’m excited to see what Kurtz brings!2 points

What a final, brilliant racing once again after those first eight heats. Best track in the world without a shadow of a doubt.2 points

Also enjoyed it as BET 365 generously had Ostrow at + 10 at 4/5.1 point

Think consecutive nights is not great, perhaps should have 1 early season and 1 late season if having 2.The venue deserves 2 if financially viable.1 point
-
Good racing across the two meetings but I can’t but help feel two consecutive GPs at the same track isn’t a good for the sport. Maybe it’s a necessity at the moment given the economics. Wroclaw next so that’s 3 home GPs for Kurtz….1 point

Tom B is a perfect example of the gap between where he is and the top lads are... A decent rider who will have a decent career in the UK, (if you can still have a career in the UK five years from now)... Tom found bikes being fired at him from all angles, full throttle, with not a thought to switch off, nor any split second of doubt from riders when committed to a manoeuvre... Even Dan Bewley struggled for a fair while when he was coming back from injuries and suddenly the levels went skywards from the usual domestic racing, when at the GP's.... Even Dan couldn't give three World Class riders a lead out of bend two, lap one, and expect to consistently get by all three... Probably half way through last season, Dan visually started to mix it more and his results showed the improvement needed, and this year he carried on from where he left off with an obvious more attacking approach.. The lads at the "next level down" certainly have a huge gap to bridge to get to that rarefied level that many have been at now for a good many years...1 point

Politics and Countries is what matters nowadays not the best riders. Trying to make it multi nation event is the aim but it is difficult regarding the number of countries that have real World Class riders.1 point

Thought Kelvin’s commentary on that great final was lacklustre, listen to this Polish commentary.1 point

With all the adverts and prompts for SWC final tickets during recent GP’s are they struggling for ticket sales?1 point

That was so noticeable! They all come across as aloof prima donna's I'm afraid. I know it's a World Championship and they all want to really take it seriously and win it, but let's be honest none of them are going to, with possible exception of Kurtz while Zmarzlik is about, so they might a well just enjoy themselves. To just bugger off straight back to the pits head down after you've just won a race is not really acceptable to fans who have paid around £100 a ticket for each night... mind you Oasis seem to get away with it 😁1 point

It is a truly ridiculous level of ability at this level... Surely someone can make the sport the level it deserves to be at over here?..1 point

Glad I've not spent £500 to take family of 4 with an overnight stay.. watching for free and still feel done.. racing is non existent.. whats happened to the best racetrack in the world1 point
