I’m a neutral but love seeing the Scorpions proving everyone wrong, I’ve been enjoying their streams and it’s great to see the young British riders progressing. Good rides and scores again tonight for Luke Harrison, Nathan Ablitt and Ryan Ingram who some people said was the weakest 2 pointer in the league before the lad had even turned a wheel, proving again tonight how wrong people were.5 points

Here is translated text from sportowefakty.pl dealing with Jason Doyle activities in Poland Jason Doyle arrived in Poland at the age of 23. However, he didn't conquer the Polish league at that time. Over the following seasons, he signed contracts with various clubs, but never really got a real chance. That opportunity came in 2014, just before he turned 30. Orzeł Łódź placed their trust in him. The Australian repaid the favour in the best way possible, simply conquering the second tier of the league. He also advanced to the Speedway Grand Prix. He was noticed by the bosses of PGE Ekstraliga. This resulted in a move to the Toruń team. A 24th-place in the individual ranking wasn't exactly groundbreaking, but it allowed him to comfortably stay in the Elite. Especially since he finished fifth in the SGP. He was already 30 years old at the time. Such a late entry into the world's elite is practically unheard of. It's no surprise, then, that fans have fallen in love with the Australian. The 2016 season was another breakthrough, though it ended in a very sad way. Doyle had already become a true leader in the PGE Ekstraliga, and in the Individual World Championship, after winning three rounds in a row, he was confidently heading for the title. However, an injury derailed his dreams. He ultimately finished the entire series in fifth place again. A year later, however, he achieved his goal. By triumphing in the final round in Melbourne, he secured the gold medal. All this with two fractured metatarsals. He was already 32 years old at the time. People love stories like this. It's no wonder Doyle gained a lot of fans. However, in subsequent seasons, he dropped his pace in the Grand Prix. It's said he no longer cared as much. He waited nearly seven years for his next Grand Prix win. In the PGE Ekstraliga, he remained a top rider, though his performances were less than impressive. He changed clubs regularly, competing at the highest level for teams in Toruń, Zielona Góra, Częstochowa, Leszno, Krosno, and Grudziądz. More and more talk emerged about his aggressive driving and various scandals, both large and small. After the 2022 season, Doyle agreed to stay at Unia Leszno for another year. Suddenly, he received an offer from the newly promoted team from Krosno and accepted, leaving his former team in the lurch. Leszno fans immediately hated the Australian. He, however, gave in to their provocation during a league match and showed the middle finger, for which he was fined. "He's not an easy man. You have to be very careful with him. I was friendly with him, but I know his moods are very volatile. That's why it's difficult to make a friend of him. You can help him, but you have to know when to step away, because he has a temper, and he doesn't mince his words," Marek Cieślak , a legendary coach who had the opportunity to coach Doyle, told WP SportoweFakty. During the 2024 season, the 2017 Individual World Champion suffered an injury, forcing him to retire prematurely. His Polish club, GKM Grudziądz, demanded a refund of some of the money he received for signing the contract, as stipulated in the regulations. The Australian initially disagreed. He also gave a powerful interview to Speedway Star. "Since the accident, I haven't had a single call from my Polish club in Grudziądz. They've never asked me how I'm feeling. They only asked me when I was in hospital in King's Lynn: 'Let us know how you're feeling so we can tell the fans.' I'm just a piece of meat to them, just a number," he said at the time. He eventually returned the money anyway. Before 2026, after 11 consecutive seasons, he was relegated to the lower leagues. He returned to Krosno Wolves. As a star, he was expected to help the team fight for the Metalkas 2 Ekstraliga final. The reality turned out to be different. Doyle currently ranks only 14th in the standings. After another poor performance, he again extended his middle finger to the fans, this time from Krosno. Ironically, those same fans collected money to pay for his punishment for the same gesture in 2023. "This is the smallest measure of his frustration," Cieślak comments. Fans from the Polish Sub-Carpathian region have had enough of Jason Doyle, especially since they're aware of his hefty contract. The rider himself seems unfazed. "He doesn't feel guilty. There's already a huge conflict there, not only with the fans, but also with the club's owners," Mateusz Puka told the Speedway College. According to him, the Australian even wrote on one of his social media that the officials should take his money if they didn't like him. "Doyle's absolute arrogance is there. He's the one who ruined the team," the journalist concluded. Everything points to the 40-year-old having to move on again after the season. There will likely be someone willing to sign him, as he can still offer a lot in terms of his sporting potential. However, it's undeniable that a growing number of fans in Poland have lost respect for him; some even hate him and refuse to watch him play. This is how the story of a speedway rider who, at a late age for an athlete, suddenly became the best rider in the world, admired by many. Ten years later, it's hard to find fans who would have a positive opinion of him. On the other hand, he never hid the fact that his primary goal was to earn money. "He's got one good thing. He simply doesn't lie. He says he races for the money, and that's it," summarises Marek Cieślak. Mateusz Kmiecik, sportowefakty.pl3 points

Why would you expect the new live updates service direct from the referees box to be working at the track run by the chairman of the BSPL? 😂3 points

No question they are but Nicholls shouldn’t be beaten by those two on any track3 points

Wroclaw had told the Aces and Ipswich that the Aces will keep Doyle and Dan will ride for Ipswich in the play offs. They don't want Dan and Brady riding in the same team over here in case they crash into each other...3 points

Track was like a typical Glasgow lady, very wet and a little rough. Track was there to be attacked. A half hour delay and the meeting would of been complete3 points

Speaking as someone who can declare 'I was there' (cos I was) Scotty had some good races v younger Scunny riders, but at this stage of his career he understandably isn't going to ride halfway up the fence. As a neutral, & therefore unbothered re: the result, some very good racing & Pickering was great to watch, if anyone needs a demonstration or explanation of the phrase 'full send', just watch Picko. Good nite out Friday, enjoyed it as I always do at speedway....2 points

According to the SCB Regs (010.2.2 Assessed MA’s) the equivalent of a 4.50 Premiership assessed rider is 6.00 for the Championship.2 points

Can’t see Lambert doing much around this little track.but I will be interested to see how Bomber gets on if he misses the start because this must be the hardest track to pass on because it’s so narrow.2 points

It is all a bit strange isn't it?... Quite a large part of following UK Speedway is to not take anything too seriously, and have a bit of a laugh at what is allowed to take place by those who run it... Plus have some banter and pee taking with those fans of a differing persuasion... Very serious some people...2 points

I remember and liked that format, did it last for more than a season? It was probably stopped as I surmise that the riders didn't like it as there weren't so many easy point pickings going... and we all know the sport is run for the riders.2 points
-
Simple solution. Increase the car park charge by £25.00 for that night, but give everyone who uses the car park a free ticket for the speedway that night.2 points
-
No! No! No!... 15 Heats, Seven rider teams!! It's the only way!!! I remember several years ago they devised a formula which meant the best riders rode against each other more often in a meeting.. Some of the best racing I have witnessed in many, many years.. And then they stopped doing it.. ????????2 points
-
Only if they were programmed to ride against each other... there is more than 1 way to run a Speedway meeting 🤔2 points

And you're getting the riders that are actually competitive from where to fill all the teams? Jason Doyle Vs Simon Lambert doesn't sound entertaining2 points

Maybe one league would solve this. Consistency for all clubs and hopefully supporters alike.2 points

Been very hard to see news of this match from Plymouth. Announced they were looking for a guest for King, on their website announced r/r but nothing on FB. Then this morning, still hadn't seen the result posted by Plymouth? Especially at a time then the Speedway GB site appears to be having issues (not posting results).2 points

Not sure it would give you another point as the team is nearly a point over the team limit. If you bring KJP for Bangs the next change would be pretty much like for like average wise.2 points
-
I would go for KJP, as no6 isn't the only position we need to make a change. By signing KJP on 3.53 in place of PHB on 4.50 assessed, we give ourselves another point up our sleeve to make a further change elsewhere2 points

Track held up well and some good racing until the heavens opened. Masters apart Oxford were woeful, for Glasgow everyone chipped in apart from Hodder who had a mare , special mention for Sam Hagon who was undefeated by an opponent he was riding the outside line very well.2 points

From 2001 to the mid 2010's it was very well used, most teams had fans posting. It started to fall off when the likes of Reading,Eastbourne and Coventry especially closed along with all the other tracks lost to the sport. There was quite a few Sheffield fans (Forum owner Phil included ! ) who would post daily, now hardly anyone bothers as the Tigers- Leicester meeting thread proved!1 point

Same here, Just know he's going to improve as well after he gets a few more meetings under his belt.1 point

Ouch will now claim that Doyle is one of Belle Vue’s boys where everyone else knows that riders are no longer owned by clubs and ride for who they want to each season.1 point

Shame for Bowes who tried to come back too early after injuring himself last winter, fell and hurt himself again, then tried to come back too early and was clearly in pain. There’s a talent there but he hasn’t had a chance to show it. The best bet is time out to make a full recovery. Best of luck to the lad.1 point

Bet you believe in fairytales. Have you considered that Doyle may have had a say in all this? Maybe he’d only race over here again if it was at Belle Vue. Slating Lemon and Belle Vue is obviously your agenda.1 point

The goal should be signing riders and nurturing them into top stars. If ALL clubs attempted this we wouldn’t have the yearly scramble for riders suitable for heat fifteen. The utopia would be to get to a point where teams didn’t need to be constantly raided to bolster other clubs and this would also allow fans to build up a stronger affinity with “their” riders. Generally riders that have come through the ranks in the UK stick around even when reaching GP stardom and the pull through from world exposure can only be a good thing at domestic level. Just looking at my team over the last few years we have seen several riders doing just that. Brady Kurtz 7.50 Max Fricke 4.50 Jaimon Lidsey 4.00 Dan Bewley 3.00 Tom Brennan last pick RS1 point
