  2. Well a lot of people are commenting on why the forum is in decline, this past several posts is a point why a lot of people don't interact anymore. And most of it is on the Poole page so it's affects their popularity as well. Why can't these pointless posters stop their fued

  6. I post on there now and again, seems a shame not to at least look in now and again after all the hard work @IainB put in setting up the new site, on the plus side at least this site has improved since its been back online regarding adverts coz it used to craze me the amount of adverts popping up every time i looked in, and i haven't set up an ad blocker so fingers crossed it continues as it is currently.

  8. Happens every year an absolute shocker of a rider makes it through 🤣 It's the reason I'll repeat again. The Speedway Grand Prix Series should be a closed shop. The best rider's in the world should be hand picked. The top 12 automatically qualify & the best 4 rider's with the highest amalgamation of averages from at least 2 leagues from:- •Ekstraliga •Elitserien •Speedway Ligaen •Premiership

  13. Unfortunately there are many who dislike Poole enough to post these uncalled for observations.

  14. Your dislike of the team and the track have clearly made you miss everything that’s going on with the stadium and has been for some time - it’s all in the public domain

  15. its got a whole lot more professional since then ,, riders don't have time for the plebs who pay their wages anymore ... some are so selfish they don't even do the victory parades because their vans are loaded and off to Poland . I've even seen one refuse to do heat 15 in case he missed his flight

  16. The irony of you calling me a muppet & thick with a post with 2 commas & then a capital letter after them is hilarious, even by your standards.

  17. At this stage why don't we just allow the premiership to race over the weekend? Yes we will loose some top riders but this is a price we might have to pay. The general public don't know who Dan Bewley and Jack Holder are, they just want an enjoyable night out at a reasonable price. If clubs don't have to pay for the top riders then the meeting might be more affordable. Also, the racing is likely to be closer as more clubs can compete at a similar level. We always compare ourselves to ice hockey but they don't spend all their money trying to get players from the NHL over so why should we?

  19. I'll be honest with you, the riders don't really care for it. Sure you'll get a couple who will smile for selfies and go through the motions but only because the promoters have told them to. In fact most promotors see it as an inconvenience but see it as a necessity to keep what paying punters they have happy. And don't even get started of the snarling pit marshals. You lowly creatures of annoyance are on his sacred patch. This is his kingdom and if you outstay your welcome he will be snapping at your heels like an angry jack russell.

  22. Barely anyone. No logic in everyone using both as it'll just be the same posters posting the same comments on both forums to a point where it's just a waste of everyone's time.

  23. Having just made my annual trip down to sunny Dorset, I was pleased to see that the Poole promotion still allow the fans into the pits until 30 minutes before the start; a great opportunity to mix with the riders and mechanics and brilliant for the kids. Which other tracks offer this facility? I am hoping to visit Northampton soon. Do they?

  24. Lebedevs isn't finishing top 7 unless he has a stellar Riga and his form improves elsewhere. Hasn't been as good this year.

  25. Are we saying that the 2027 SGP series could be Zmarzlik, Kurtz, Lambert, MJJ, Woryna, Madsen, Lebedevs, Tungate, Nilsson, Jakobsen, Harris, The European Champion and 3 wildcards from: Bewley, Holder, Lindgren, Fricke, Dudek, Thomsen, Doyle; Kubera, Kvech etc Probably not that much worse than the 2026 series tbh 😃 They definitely need to rethink the GP Challenge

  26. Yeah I was shocked at that. Tbf good job we had klindt in as well!
    1 point
  27. Qualify top 7 you mean? If Lambert, Woryna, MJJ and Lebedevs get top 7 this season in SGP then Jakobsen and Harris are automatically qualified into 2027 SGP.

  28. So I’ve taken a look at the league table tonight and I don’t see the top four being displaced at this stage which means Redcars season will prob finish in early Sept, the current 7 ( excluding wright and Klindt previously) are too inconsistent , if there are options to include wright and Klindt we need to seriously look at this , if not let’s start planning for next season where if the rules change I would include Wright , Klindt and Jody Scott , the rest would prob benefit from riding elsewhere to further their careers as they seem to be stagnant at Redcar. Granted we still have a chance to retain the BSN trophy but we don’t beat teams by big enough margins to win over two legs particularly if it’s Poole in the final.

  29. Could the crowds also improve if Ipswich raced on a Friday night or on a Sunday afternoon? What the audience really lacks in my opinion is jeopardy in the league. The problem now is the playoff system means that the majority of fans don't need to bother much until September. If your team is last don't worry as there is no relegation. Also, you will see the same teams time after time as there are only 5 other teams. If we move all teams to the weekend then yes the teams will get worse but likely championship teams will be interested in stepping up. The riders are more affordable so the league will be more competitive, meetings closer and much more difficult to make the playoffs (if we keep that format). If we keep trying to bring in a few 'big hitters' it is more of the same. Why don't we try something and if it doesn't work at least speedway goes out with people trying to fix it instead of it's current wimper.

  32. Seriously don’t even know where to start with that. Batchelor needs to just pack in. Honestly costing the team so many points. The team manager needs gone as well cause he quite clearly isn’t capable of firing the team up. Vinnie is struggling in the main body evidently, he is a reserve and stepping up isn’t doing him any good. Jakobsen is an experiment that’s failed. Give Klindt whatever he wants because Christ, he is a machine around there.

  33. You can even play footy with the Scunny riders if you want...the above post sounds to me like someone years ago wanted to get involved but got told to F.....Off. i like the idea of a track walk, especially if someone explained what riders are looking for..its about understanding, how tracks change, which lines riders like, how much prep has gone into it, By talking to the riders you get to know whos approachable or who to avoid, anyway the riders arent working on their bikes its the mechanics..after 7pm they go and get changed then the bikes warm up

  34. isnt that due to him having 6 or 7 rides?

  35. It’s my opinion that crowd levels are hit when the top stars disappear and sponsors too like the idea of being involved with a team sporting a world class rider or two. As has been shown with Belle Vue, Sheffield, Ipswich & Leicester recently is that top stars result in a competitive team. All those teams bar The Aces have dropped a division or closed due to crowds dwindling when success wasn’t on the cards. I’m not having it that people don’t know speedway exists in town. I’ve detailed all the many avenues used to enlighten people but the fact is they don’t want to come and that is what needs addressing. I live a few hundred yards from Stockport County and I couldn’t tell you when the next fixture is, what league they are in or who is in the team. The reason is I’m not interested so will not take in any amount of public attention they seek. I don’t like football so have no idea about it and that goes for two of the biggest clubs in the world who are also on my doorstep. This is true of any event in Manchester I’m not interested in and it’s just the way people behave.

  36. I was expecting to go down by 20+ Sheffield is a place where a string of 3 4 5 consecutive 1-5 heats can slip by very easily Neither happened so I felt it was decent That 1 extra point could be vital - no need for the super heat next time 😉

  37. I'm not sure you can claim Kurtz as 'one of your own'. He had already been riding in the UK for 6 years, with 4 years in the top flight at Poole, topping their GSAs in his final year with them. Yes he has improved while he has been with Belle Vue but that would have happened with age and experience wherever he was riding. His improvement is not much different to Jack Holder who left Poole at the same to join Sheffield. Both have been loyal servants since then, but neither club can claim to have nurtured them to the extent that you may have done with some of the others.

  38. Is this forum dying a slow death like the sport in this country? I started a topic yesterday for the Scunthorpe vs Redcar match because it was going to be on BSN, but why is an fan of a club that ceased to exist eight years ago starting a topic because two sets of fans who still have clubs to follow are clearly not interested, and there has been scant follow up after the meeting. Oxford were at home last night, but not a mention of that match on this forum, its like it never existed, Plymouth is the same, often no threads for their home matches. I know not all fans do social media but you would think a few from a group of at least 500 (that's the min most clubs get) would want to be interactive.

  43. Batch is Batch he’s like marmite love him or hate him and he hasn’t endeared himself to fans over the years me included. He is not professional, he’s arrogant, he’s not a team man and he doesn’t give a 🤬. He has a bad rep in speedway and not just the UK. According to Batch he only wants to win races and isn’t interested in coming 2nd or 3rd. As a fan I can’t support riders like him that do not try, let alone does wheelies at the back instead f doing what he is paid to do i.e. score points!

  46. Well what can I say 🤔 as predicted, but on a dusty track the water cart only came out in 2 of the 4 grading breaks, the last few heats were like watching through a dust storm, granted Lawson's pass in HT 15 was good, but the rest of the racing if you can call it that, was not exciting. But the pilots fans will be happy. On a brighter note was good to meet up with a few names on here 😃 and I'm now an honorary member of the NID corner 😄

  47. Following the Bates announcement on Monday, it's clear that the Premiership can't continue to exist in its current form in 2027. In the past 18 months we've lost Oxford and Birmingham and it seems certain that Sheffield won't be back for another year. Decades of the sport's mismanagement has finally come to a head. Bending over backwards to comply with an agenda dictated by Poland has had its day. British speedway needs to set its own agenda and not kowtow to foreign stipulations. If it means saying a permanent goodbye to riders preferring to seek their fortunes elsewhere, so be it. For survival we need a single nationwide league of 12/14 teams of riders committed 100% to British racing between March and October. A 24/26 match league programme plus a further 8/10 matches in a split north-south KO cup competition will guarantee teams a weekly match programme (just as it used to be!) The loss of a few "fancy-Dan" racers to Poland will mean much more money available to the rest who wish to compete in the UK, and a sensible rider payment policy will provide ample earnings potential for riders over a guaranteed 36-match season. It now really is a battle for survival of the sport; was it Einstein who said that to go on doing the same things expecting different results is the definition of madness?

  48. What does everyone think about the streaming of meetings across the League in general? Personally I don't see the logic in it because it encourages fans to stay at Home and watch the meeting for a cheaper price which surely has an impact on Clubs attendances and finances. Fan staying at Home watching a live streaming means a Club is potentially losing out on the following. £10 per an Adult for a ticket, £4 for a Programme and potentially another couple of quid for a Hot drink and parking. x that by 100 for example and a Club is losing out on £1,600+ per a race day.

  49. As a loyal Tigers supporter since 1966, following the Bates announcement I'm fully expecting that 2026 will be the death knell for the sport in Sheffield. The only hope in my opinion is a single nation-wide league of 12/14 teams, and if that means saying a permanent goodbye to riders who prefer to ride for big bucks in Poland, so be it.
