There have been 21 weekends between 1st April and 31st August. There was 11 home meetings to fit in (8 League 2 BSN & 1 KO Cup), giving 10 blank weekends. If clubs can't work around the "Mickey Mouse" (they aren't Mickey Mouse to the riders, I bet), especially those in September - then blame the clubs, don't blame the FIM. The FIM fixtures are there for all to see, so there should be no clashes. Workington, as an example, can race on any day of the week (except Monday & Thursday due to Premiership), so fixture clashes with the FIM meetings don't have to happen. Having said that, promoters in general don't seem to want to learn, as it's the same season after season trying to fit fixtures in at the back-end of the season. Until that changes, these types of clashes will continue to happen.

There is nothing more Mickey Mouse than UK Speedway's version of the sport. Good luck to the lads broadening their horizons, as far too often you can get a false impression as to your actual level by competing against your peer group, many of whom being much less capable than yourself... Good to see these lads test themselves. . And, as has been said, the many weeks of venues not being used isn't their fault...

Events like these should be at Belle Vue imo. Not only is it just about the most central, it’s supposed to be the “National Speedway Stadium”

Bought the stream and quite their enjoyed the coverage. Felt a bit sorry for the person sorting out the graphics not knowing who was going where at the gate, even more so when Edinburgh went rogue with helmet colours! Charles Wright whilst exciting, was in my view over-riding. Oxford excellent all night.

Maybe just maybe clubs should have completed their league fixtures by end August??

The original fixture clashed with the qualifying round so would of still be unavailable. Its so disappointing as the boy wants to ride for his team.

If we get 40 that'd be a pretty good night, its an awful hunting ground for us.

Spot on, this meeting was in the calendar a long time ago. And they certainly aren't 'Mickey Mouse' meetings.

The Poole track is no different from the majority of G B tracks. No better or worse.

Another mickey mouse meeting . Get the young riders need to get experience abroad and racing against European riders, but yet again British speedway fans suffer for this.

Have to agree while Poole looked solid enough in the heats, they never looked great. Had they made it through to the final Oxford would still have been my favourite to win. I kinda wonder if this evening might prove to be significant to Lawson's future at Poole, face it the semi wasn't pretty from the Rocketman's perspective, his race craft is strong but when it comes to laying it all out on the line he seems to holds back. (I do however sympathise bearing in mind his circumstances).

As I understand it...Villads Nagel, Ben Basso, Andreas Lyager and another Dane who's name escapes me at the moment (I've got Mikkel Michelsens name in my head but fairly sure he'd be too high an average). Too many fixture clashes seemed to be the issue. NB I'm not a part of the club so I can't be 100% on who was or wasn't spoken to, those were the names I heard. I get the basic aim of the rule, but it does seem silly that no one thought about riders that retire or get badly hurt (sadly both aren't unheard of in speedway). Also a general lack of heat leader level riders wanting to ride in the UK doesn't help matters. Punishing Glasgow for Kyle retiring just before the signing deadline doesn't feel fair but speedway has a long history of strange decisions, so who knows what will happen?

Brilliant from Oxford, thoroughly deserved winners turned the favourites over on there own track as well,I hope there will be no sour grapes about the track as they all had to ride it and I mean every team , Oxford were just to good also congratulations to Berwick not many would have had them in the top 2

Going into next season maybe the fixtures should be home one week and away the next, like football. That way at least you know your gonna see 2 meetings a month, and don't avoid foreign rounds of various Mickey mouse FIM meetings just draft a guest in, that way you still keep the 1 home meeting every 2 weeks

Four points needed. Any kind of victory home to Sheffield and Belle Vue next week will seal it regardless what Lynn do in their last two meetings.

It’s always a balls up at the end of season with riders and fixtures. The whole sport is a joke.

Its time the Promoters got their acts together, its been a fragmented season with teams going 3,4,5 weeks without a fixture. The hottest summer for ages and we cant fit in a few fixtures over this period. If this happens next year , only 1 Home,1 Away am done going to watch,its like a new season every time you go to a match with the fixtures spread out. If a Promoter cannot fit in 11 matches in 20 weeks of a season,there's a major problem with British Speedway.

Paid to watch the stream tonight - what a waste... How can a team who, on paper look pretty decent, be consistently failing to deliver on the track. With the way Cooper has improved this year we really should have been in the mix nearer the top end of the league, not scrapping to sneak into 4th, which on this performance is gonna need a miracle of biblical proportions

Just look at the event from the 10th to the 13th September at the Northampton track and see how the whole period is organised with the punters in mind whereas speedway is organised around the participants and the punters are not even considered. Agree that the drivers pay to compete but you give a good few hours of entertainment that appeals to a whole range of ages and Spedeworth go out to treat the punter to an event. Speedway does not even come close in this country and until the views of the a few change and the promoters get an idea of what it takes to promote, it will continue to attract less and less punters. Speedway is not value for money from an entertainment perspective and is run by fickle promoters who have fickle riders who dictate what when and how things go on in terms of the track. I would rather pay £20 on a banger/stock car meeting knowing it will be on then rock up to a track for speedway only to find that a cat has pissed on bend four and it is not suitable for racing according to the riders. Chalk and cheese when it comes to entertainment and value for money, hence the only speedway worth watching at this time is the Polish scene who know how to put on a meet.

How do Ipswich still have a facility for Hellstrom-Bangs? He's only ridden four meetings for them this year and none since June 25th, despite riding in Sweden during that time.

Baffling why riders don't ride as a pair sometimes in meetings like this. Seen it so many times over the years, instead of team riding and settling for a heat advantage their ego gets the better of them and they end up costing their team.

Maybe they held it at Poole because Poole were the only promotion who offered to host it!!

PK should have tried to slow down Anders Rowe in the final rather than chase after Sam Masters. Not getting the last place was far more important. for the Bandits.

It's what do you class as a poor track. Ask the riders and they only want bald slick tracks.ask the the fans and they want to see deep shail and several racing lines. Who's wrong?

Exactly! year after year it's the same clubs other teams are waiting on! As normal we get into September and the weather is getting poor un reliable, so final should be done by late October. Should be simple if the fixtures are not completed by end of August the points get awarded to the away team - lets face it clubs have had all summer to get these meetings done with large gaps of no racing for weeks.

Have yourself a ride to northside and tell steve he prepares a poor track!

Great effort from the boys last night just failing in the final, you wouldn't think PK was retiring at the end of the season his ride in the semi final to hold off Rocketman was awesome

Was pencilled in but sorting a line up out has proved too hard at such short notice.

Bit late on this one but the racing at Thruxton was just fantastic in all classes. Cadwell was very good too. Young Bayliss looks like a chip off the old block, very fast but very aware of waiting for the right time to put in maximum effort.

So Wednesday 9th is free to re-arrange the Harbour Masters?

Not a patch in last week racing wise. Both semis good but overall a disappointing meeting. Well done to Oxford who were consistent all night. Berwick battled well and deserved to make the final after Lawson decided to attack Morris rather than defend his third place. A poor decision which cost us a final place but the way the Oxford pair were riding Masters and Rowe would have been difficult to beat.

The GP"s in Manchester showed Speedway, in the UK, can still attract plenty of people, at admission costs that are Premier League football level... As they bring relevance, credibility, close racing, and atmosphere.. Unfortunately, none of that is regularly replicated in domestic UK Speedway... There are a great many out there still following the sport, and closely, but don't see UK Speedway as something that warrants their attendance and monetary outlay... A huge opportunity for growth if those running UK Speedway ever listened and got things right...

Tonight's news on Reid Battye, who has re-signed for Berwick in 2027 is really tremendous. Reid has had (generous) offers from other clubs to leave the Bandits, but will instead "dance with the one that brung him to the ball"
