  1. According to the Sheffield Star, the first signing may well be announced at the presentation night on 16 October. As the article refers to "new blood" it may give us an idea of which way the team is going to go. You have to presume that Stead, Bates and Poole are nailed on certainties (subject to fitness guarantees) so the first signing might give a clue if we are going for a big top end or a more balanced side
  2. I wouldn't complain at that team although would be nice to fit Andre in given how well he was going before the crash
  3. Think he was just testing fitness to see if he could ride tonight or not
  4. It did. Sheffield had their best result of the season against the Monarchs, we only lost by 2! We could have lost by more if Cook hadn't put in what can only be described as a lacklustre performance
  5. Is that with him saying that he would be racing again next season earlier?
  6. Please god, don't go Elite! We'll be without a club within a year - a year of us having to watch teams made up of national league riders and guests for team members riding elsewhere (think how annoying it was for Proctor to be missing meetings this year). Premier league is where the smart money should stay
  7. Did not see that happening!! Were the Tigers impressive or the Comets crap?
  8. Can I put Bellego on my wish list for next year please!! The boy is fast as duck Don't like to criticise... But why did we not give Ben one of Josh's rides? He was riding far better and may have meant that we got 3 points instead of 2
  9. Anybody know if Stead and Bates are fit to ride? Stead didn't ride last night for Leicester and it sounds like Josh fell and withdrew from the meeting too
  10. It was R/R for Steady in Leicester's match tonight I noticed
  11. Not sure where to start.... The entire team rode superbly. Was going to pick out Steady's heat 9 ride, but all 6 riders had at least one brilliant race. Workington helped with not being that good, but think we could've beaten anybody tonight
  12. Very very very With more rain forecast later, it has got to be doubtful
  13. Think the Argentinian championship is similar to the New Zealand one, where nationality is considered to be overrated! More of a championship in Argentina than an Argentinian championship (if that makes sense)
  14. The only way we will stand a chance is if the Masters who guested for us turns up instead of the Usual Masters
  15. The difference being that by the sounds of it, Berwick were good where as Worky were a bit crap the other night...
  16. Interesting to see how he gets on, Proctor just seemed to be coming good (at home anyway), not sure if Nico will be as good as Proctor was becoming, but from what I've seen of him, he should be entertaining at the very least... If only there was another Argentinian rider that we could bring in to keep him company
  17. Didn't think it was too shabby personally. Not the best meeting, but a few good races
  18. They announced after the meeting that Josh had a headache but that was it. Can't believe that he didn't break anything in what was a sickening looking crash. I heard him hit the fence from near the start line Should also say, cracking rides from both guests, we would have been up against it without them with Taylor looking down on power in comparison to recent weeks
  19. Can't believe that Edward Kennett hasn't been mentioned yet
  20. Isn't Rugby the home of the BSPA? As for a boycott, not sure that I have heard anything quite so stupid before. As somebody else has pointed out, it would probably just result in some poor bugger, who tries to provide entertainment in a competitive market place (football, cricket, Ice hockey, rugby, basketball, games consoles, tv etc etc), going bankrupt. Who is the winner in that situation??
