King's Lynn v Sheffield 23/06
Bagpuss replied to Bald Bloke's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'm afraid the main reason clubs close is because of the people who run them and run the sport. Give people a good product at value for money and they will buy it, it has ever been thus. -

I don't think he's a number one in fairness. But if we are going to give our riders a track which is so grippy that it's difficult to pass on then they need to be gating much, much better than last night. We are bang average at the moment, no Puk or Jack doesn't help but the early season spark has disappeared unfortunately. -

If you had a black hoodie, a pair of glasses and a pint in your hand I think I spotted you So many points thrown away by Lynn tonight but ultimately Sheffield's top four were far too strong with Mountain chipping in too. We are so inconsistent right down the order at the minute and I don't think such a grippy track suits us. Need some away points now and quickly! -

Track too grippy, racing poor so far. Hope the early season slicker tracks aren't a thing of the past. -

Poole Pirates Vs Plymouth Gladiators 22 June
Bagpuss replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
That looked 50/50 to me, Lawson was very hard and it looked like MPT had started to lift anyway but if you look where Lawson ends up I think there is every chance he would have cleaned Toft up anyway had he stood his ground. You could make a case fir either being turfed out. I'm sure one thing we can all agree on is that if it had been MPT storming under a Poole rider like that the opinion of Shovvy would have been completely the opposite -
Ellis unavailable too presumably? I agree, it's a pretty underwhelming line up.

If those people in Lynn could keep those if us who aren't abreast of the shower situation please we'd be very grateful -

If I've read it right he meant after is exclusion, and therefore winning the final race to get a draw. It would be good to see a video clip of the incident as most people agree that Richard Lawson isn't that type of rider at all. It's not a stunt though is it, its perfectly within the rules -

If Plymouth didn't have bad luck they'd have no luck at all. -

I think you worry too much Doesn't really matter that Peterborough are catching us, what matters is that we get enough points from twenty meetings to finish at least fourth. As it stands we've raced less meetings than everyone else but like every home meeting it's important to win them. R/R would be ok but 7 riders is better so hopefully we can get a good one. 46-44. -
People could probably accept that if it was on a weekend! I always advocate a neutral venue but those don't really exist any.more with doubling up rife. Thank goodness for the stream for fans of the northern clubs.
-
It can only be home for hone advantage, Wolves aren't the first track to do it but its a downward spiral the day the track is prepared for home riders and not entertainment.
-
Indeed, they are few and far between nowadays.
-
So I did have it wrong, apologies. Great that it's being streamed, I read a discussion earlier in the thread and obviously got the wrong end of the stick.
-
So if I've got this right it's at one of the furthest flung tracks on a midweek evening and not being streamed?
-
This does surprise me because things have been much better since Alex Brady has been involved, if it was still down to other members of the promotion you probably wouldn't be. Presumably Mulford will still be required on Thursday if it's R/R for Puk anyway? Agree that venting on Facebook looks awful even though I do have sympathy with the boy. However as I said before to me a number 8 is to cover the odd meeting, not longer term injuries.

I don't think people can realistically blame Poland for our decline, that lies at the feet of our promoters and administrators but surely you can understand folk being cheesed off at them preventing riders who would probably get jobs over here doing so? I'd have thought the attraction of Sweden is the less travel and one race day for those based in Poland.
