Not at all, there is a middle ground though. -

No you didn't, someone else did. I agree about the last bit, he needs to grow some horns and start cutting off others riders runs around the outside etc. It will cone with experience, you kind of feel he respects one or two riders a bit too much at the mo. -

Lambert to me has looked fast in one race and slow in the next across the two rounds so far, which suggests there has been a lot of tinkering with set ups etc. The idea that a rider sitting 7th in the standings isn't good enough for the series is a little bizarre however -
Berwick v Redcar Saturday 14/05/22 7pm
Bagpuss replied to Normski's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I can understand the point of view that Brennan should have ridden for GB instead of Harris but once selected you can't turn down your country and Bomber has always represented GB with pride and given 100%. Disappointing Woffinden didn't ride, if he was standing aside for younger riders then fair enough but that obviously wasn't the case with Harris picked. -
Connor Bailey.

To be fair Phil said that they had to get him to fake an injury, not that he actually did fake one.
-
So did the metal plate through the skin thing actually happen to Kennett then?
-
Dear me. More guest bookings for Bomber then!

As far as can work out Iversen is sharing his Danish place with Woffy and one assumes he's stepped aside for a time which allows him to do Poland, Sweden and the UK. Difficult to judge Lynn too stringently after five meetings as we didn't face a full strength side in the cup matches and had all three heatleaders either unwell or injured at a wet Monmore. As ever would like to think we can get at least a point away from home even allowing for BV's power and its a track most of our riders should like and have scored well at before. But BV look a very, very good side and have if course walloped P'boro twice recently.

So you have stated that 'all the talent is being coached out of them' but aren't prepared to say how, by who, where when etc etc. IMO the five riders I've named showed huge potential at 15 and 16 but haven't really kicked on since, and I'm using Lambert, Bewley & Brennan as recent examples of the benchmark. Perhaps our expectations are too high in the first place but when riders show such potential in their first couple of seasons I think we allowed to expect them to be decent regular scorers in our leagues two or three seasons later and to be competitive in World U21 events. I understand riders can develop late but we don't see enough of our youngsters turn into internationally competitive riders IMO.

Poole Pirates Vs Newcastle Diamonds 11/5/22
Bagpuss replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Oh dear, that's not good. If Newcastle last the season they'll have done well. -
Please expand. I think Brennan can count himself unfortunate to be in the hardest qualifier as he'd have breezed through the others. He looks the real deal but unfortunately Kemp, Rowe, Palin, Bickley and Flint don't appear to be fully realising their potential like many before them. It's a familiar tale.

Farcical if so.

There has to be a deadline for their guest facilities surely?

Peterborough v Belle Vue - 9th May
Bagpuss replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
A dominant inside line is no good for decent racing, Lynn in the past and Wolves proves that along with the EoES. Riders need options. -

Belle Vue looked very good to be fair, they will take some beating over two legs. -
I just think P'boro are suffering from one or two riders having not really got going this year yet, Palin and Nicholls in particular. Their success last year was based on everyone contributing, at the end of the day it's about peaking in Sept/Oct so I wouldn't be panicking yet......that said a change or two when permitted may kick start the season.

Shouldn't be rocket science. Assuming it the same stockcar-friendly, high clay stuff that's used at Lynn (it looks it) then you don't need much of it and certainly don't want lots round the kerb. The Lynn track has been slick this year and the racing has been much better for it. Same for the Play Off final 2nd leg at P'boro last season. Don't understand Busters obsession with grip, Peterborough has so many lines when it's prepared right. -

We are all grateful to texters (I've done it many times, it's not easy) but you can't have people making stuff up or texting what they think happened without being certain. If what was said about Cook was untrue I can't blame him for being annoyed.- 352 replies

I think the whole point is they don't have a choice when the engineers come A d the irony of Suffolkers talking about extra fingers and webbed feet -

Still being a Silly Billy I see. If you'd read the thread properly you would know that this was scheduled to be done months ago. If it's a stitch up to cover for injured/ill riders then it was done with a crystal ball seeing as the floodlight issue was raised a fortnight ago.
