  1. You are quite right, would rather be winning by 10 than 20 but I feel after the start we've made this team has a decent chance of honours this year, to that end the two riders mentioned have had a bad week and need to do better, I'm sure they will. The beauty of the way the team is built is that somebody will usually step up if others are struggling.
  2. The Prem may only have six clubs but it's far less predictable than the Champs which has massive gulf between sides and is only competitive in some cases due to dodgy guests.
  3. I really dislike guests but just like penalty shoot outs there isn't a workable alternative unfortunately.
  4. Great result but Kerr and Worrall need to be much, much better than that.
  5. From Lynn website: STARS V BELLE VUE, PREVIEW Wednesday May 18, 2022 KING’S Lynn finally get their home Premiership campaign up and running when they host Belle Vue at the Adrian Flux Arena on Thursday (7.30pm). The Minors & Brady Stars have been inactive on their home circuit since April 25 after the postponement of the recent home match with Wolverhampton due to stadium lighting issues. But they have got off the mark in the league since then with a battling effort at Belle Vue on Monday, where they came back from 12 points down to salvage a league point. Danish star Niels-Kristian Iversen was instrumental in that result with a 14-point haul, and skipper Josh Pickering provided a stunning overtake of Warsaw GP winner Max Fricke in Heat 13. Boss Alex Brady names an unchanged side for the return fixture, with the Aces arriving in Norfolk on top of the table after three wins in four so far. But the visitors are still without injured duo Matej Zagar and Jye Etheridge, with former Stars man Michael Palm Toft again stepping in as guest for Zagar, and rider replacement is in operation for Etheridge. King’s Lynn co-promoter Dale Allitt said: “It’s been a bit of a break because of the last home meeting being postponed, and as a team we now want to get points on the board. “It was a good result on Monday at Belle Vue but we do need to finish the job at home. “I know Alex will be looking for a home win, and four points from the two meetings would be good – but equally Lemo (Mark Lemon) will want to come and take four points himself. “I think the league as a whole is going to be quite tight. We’ve seen Ipswich go to Wolverhampton and win, but then they lost at home to Sheffield. “So maybe Belle Vue and Sheffield look the strongest on paper at the moment – but it’s all about getting in the play-offs, and once you do that then it’s anybody’s as we’ve seen many times.” KING’S LYNN: Niels-Kristian Iversen, Thomas Jorgensen, Richard Lawson, Lewis Kerr, Josh Pickering, Richie Worrall, Jack Thomas. BELLE VUE: Max Fricke, Jye Etheridge R/R, Charles Wright, Michael Palm Toft, Brady Kurtz, Norick Blodorn, Tom Brennan. *KING’S Lynn have named Josh Pickering and Richard Lawson as their pairing for the first round of the Premiership Pairs at Peterborough on Monday, with Jack Thomas in the Rising Star berth.
  6. Maybe Riss but I always think its a risk putting a number 2 in heat 15 as its so long since their last programmed heat. Did anyone else think Erik made sure he came third in heat 10 to prevent a Sheffield tactical?
  7. Do you not get a point for scoring 42 nowadays then
  8. There must have been a reason, Alex Brady has proved to be a good TM so far and not afraid to make tough calls so I can't imagine it was an oversight.
  9. The Met Office app has thunder storms and showers until 8pm, so it's just a matter of how lucky they are in Kirky Lane with where the rain falls or doesn't.
  10. It'd absolutely right that riders need to adapt as required but at the same time I think they are entitled to expect their home track to be very similar each week unless there has been lots of rain. The best teams who hammer others at home frequently generally have settled conditions which don't change from week to week and their riders know exactly want to expect.
  11. No you didn't, someone else did. I agree about the last bit, he needs to grow some horns and start cutting off others riders runs around the outside etc. It will cone with experience, you kind of feel he respects one or two riders a bit too much at the mo.
  12. Lambert to me has looked fast in one race and slow in the next across the two rounds so far, which suggests there has been a lot of tinkering with set ups etc. The idea that a rider sitting 7th in the standings isn't good enough for the series is a little bizarre however
  13. I can understand the point of view that Brennan should have ridden for GB instead of Harris but once selected you can't turn down your country and Bomber has always represented GB with pride and given 100%. Disappointing Woffinden didn't ride, if he was standing aside for younger riders then fair enough but that obviously wasn't the case with Harris picked.
  14. To be fair Phil said that they had to get him to fake an injury, not that he actually did fake one.
  15. So did the metal plate through the skin thing actually happen to Kennett then?
  16. Dear me. More guest bookings for Bomber then!
  17. As far as can work out Iversen is sharing his Danish place with Woffy and one assumes he's stepped aside for a time which allows him to do Poland, Sweden and the UK. Difficult to judge Lynn too stringently after five meetings as we didn't face a full strength side in the cup matches and had all three heatleaders either unwell or injured at a wet Monmore. As ever would like to think we can get at least a point away from home even allowing for BV's power and its a track most of our riders should like and have scored well at before. But BV look a very, very good side and have if course walloped P'boro twice recently.
  18. So you have stated that 'all the talent is being coached out of them' but aren't prepared to say how, by who, where when etc etc. IMO the five riders I've named showed huge potential at 15 and 16 but haven't really kicked on since, and I'm using Lambert, Bewley & Brennan as recent examples of the benchmark. Perhaps our expectations are too high in the first place but when riders show such potential in their first couple of seasons I think we allowed to expect them to be decent regular scorers in our leagues two or three seasons later and to be competitive in World U21 events. I understand riders can develop late but we don't see enough of our youngsters turn into internationally competitive riders IMO.
  19. Oh dear, that's not good. If Newcastle last the season they'll have done well.
