There might also be the odd rider like Bewley who would do the UK as a third league if they were able but I don't think it would be many.
-
Absolutely, I'm not suggesting he is, I just thought he was one of your better riders in what was a pretty poor season.

Scunthorpe Scorpions Vs Poole Pirates 17th June

But then you risk the opportunity being lost and losing the meeting by a point Poole's top three can beat anyone anywhere IMO so there shouldn't ever be a reason not to use a TS as soon as you can. -
Effectively they are banning riders from racing where they want though because they probably pay them more than the other leagues put together! They know very well riders won't jack Poland in.

I've always been of the opinion that you use it at the first opportunity. -
Depends on how many 'postponements' there are between now and then
-
Perhaps I'm remembering wrong but despite him being signed to replace Cook I thought he scored pretty well considering.
-
I expect everyone knew it was a distinct possibility but I suspect Kildemand would have long been back in had he not broken bones. As selfish as the Polish rules are everybody knew about them and as far as I can see the club aren't jumping up and down and have accepted it. Lodz gave him permission to ride here initially and hopey he'll be back.
-
Really? I thought he was one of the few bright spots of 2019.
-
Unless its later in the season when Poland and/or Sweden have finished I think its just rumour and gossip, he can't race here as things stand. And I can't imagine he'd want to anyway.
-
Whats the issue with Foxhole then? Presumably preparation rather than shale after all the widening. What's changed to eliminate an outside line?
-
Assuming it's a 28 day ban (ie the next month as stated) then it's R/R or guests, not ideal but probably better than any signing who would be available. So not necessarily season over. Losing Thomas is potentially a bigger blow though.

Aces v Wolves. Premiership A - 13/06

Great ride! -
Guest, guest, guest, guest, zzzzzzzzzz. No R/R at least I suppose
-
Hans got a hatful there the other week, I'm assuming that's why hes been picked.

I think it would have to be a serious restructuring with a bit more flexibility on race nights. The main issue for me is that so many riders are now used to two incomes and a bigger Prem with a lower standard Chapighy struggle to work. It's going to be a very difficult circle to square but both leagues aren't really working at the moment for different reasons and it needs sorting out somehow. Not easy.
-
Absolutely, but as with Play Offs there will always be two arguments, ie fairness v entertainment. Sheffield should really have gone home with two points and P'boro one but as you say an entertaining sixteenth heat is good for those who were there. I welcome new ideas but I can't see myself being convinced by this one.

Couldn't agree more.

Well done Panthers and glad to hear it was a good meeting.
-
Maybe he should but he's a GP rider and presumably earns a fortune in Poland so I don't expect he's particularly fussed about having difficulty at Foxhall or Monmore, in the grand scheme of his career it's neither here nor there really. And I'm no Jack Holder fan BTW.

And vice versa one would imagine.

King's Lynn v Ipswich 09/06
Bagpuss replied to Bald Bloke's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As I said on Thursday too many things didn't go our way, that's sport. Our visitors took advantage and well done to them. We've had several matches this season where riders have been missing from our opponents line up so no complaints. The only crumb of comfort is that we didn't let Ipswich leave with all four points. Hopefully we won't have another meeting where we have three riders missing for the majority as whatever the merits of guests, R/R or reserve cover there is nothing like having all seven present and correct. -
I read somewhere that he had a new engine which didn't perform well.
-
Understand what you are saying about Lawson but he is scoring well for Poole so I'm sure he'll sort himself out. As much as I dislike R/R I think it will cover for Jorgensen quite well so I wouldn't be quite so pessimistic on the back of an unfortunate home defeat. Lots of matches left to get in the top four and stay there.
-
Would they though? Both have experience but I'm not entirely sure they would score many unless Clegg was riding for us at Wolves. Both have been around for years and are averaging five in the second division for a reason. I'd go for Edwards and possibly make him the 8 once Thomas is back for any Play Off meetings.
