  1. There is something about the Leszno track I can’t quite put my finger on, must be bike set up. Home riders are so much faster and can make away riders of greater ability look like novices.
  2. I must say I feel that the majority of the blame must lay at his own door. I can’t remember which book (might be the Lynn 40th Anniversary one) but Martin Rogers has some really interesting insights into what Michael was like to employ in the early eighties and how his attitude and professionalism changed after winning the world title. I expect if the authorities were ‘out to get him’ it was probably as a result of him being a silly billy on one too many occasions and speaking and acting out rather than just getting on with his job and letting his scoring do the talking. He was arguably the most naturally talented rider ever seen but his attitude wasted it as he could and should have been a multi world champion without doubt.
  3. He looks good.....great style too. Presumably his next step will be to ride for Rawicz with the occasional Leszno appearance?
  4. It was so slick and dry, absolute garbage with no outside line. One decent race when Doyle didn’t trap.
  5. I’m afraid I’ve been guilty in the past of watching on TV rather than going to Lynn, just felt that the best part of an hour’s round trip along with the best part of twenty quid to get in plus petrol and other bits and pieces tipped the balance towards watching from home.
  6. To be fair Rybnik are riding with much more determination tonight than they have for pretty much the whole season.
  7. In fairness to Doyle the adrenalin must have been pumping directly after the race and on the podium, it seems they have made up now so all is good. I don’t think Madsen meant to hit into the side of Doyle, he picked up a little extra grip during the move and that was that. As a Doyle says he’d have done the same thing had they been the other way round.
  8. Best view I’ve ever experienced at a speedway track at Craven Park, sitting in that big stand on the home straight was awesome.
  9. Good racing in that first meeting despite the score, really good track that. One of those however where the home team are so good, bike set up must come into it somewhere, they look so much faster than the opposition whichever part of the track they are on. Reserves ridiculously good too, the heat 2’s at Leszno are a foregone conclusion. You imagine Lambert will be in demand for 2021.
  10. Laguta lacks aggression and track craft when behind. Needs to smarten up and toughen up to be WC for me.
  11. I thought the first meeting wasn’t too bad, unfortunately any Rybnik meeting is a forgone conclusion which takes some of the jeopardy out of it. Robert needs to start gating like he was in the first part of the season and in the SEC on a regular basis if he wants to move up to the next level.
  12. He could have settled for second but (when he can be bothered) KK is a speedway racer and their instinct is to try and come first. We chastise enough riders for not trying to race or being gating tarts, it was just one of those things that happens in speedway unfortunately. Get well soon Adam.
  13. I’ve gradually been falling out with the GP’s over the last year or two and the result of this meeting doesn’t look like it will be helping with that at all.
  14. Enjoyed that, Kumla is a good race track. Jeppesen looks a very decent prospect.
