  1. I think the fact that Buster is choosing to stage double headers would suggest that there will be no extension (as there shouldn't be).
  2. Its a difficult one, Cook rode for Belle Vue before Glasgow but this fixture is rearranged while the Glasgow one isn't. Both could argue he should be riding for them. The bottom line is that if FRN had been arranged properly in the winter and not been turned into a dog's breakfast then PL fixtures wouldn't clash with any other meetings either over here or abroad.
  3. Not really.....if we can't get enough points out of two home matches against each of Wolves and Leicester (plus a trip to Leicester) or can't get those home meetings on then we only have ourselves to blame and wouldn't deserve to be in the Play Offs.
  4. Of course it depends how many dates have been offered and how many alternative dates from Lynn that Somerset refused. An independent independent who decides when meetings take place might be the way forward.
  5. Nobody should get an extension. If we can't get our fixtures in then tough luck. I'm sure we can use a Thursday or two if necessary seeing as other clubs have.
  6. Lynn's issues are down to the kind of shale used, great for stock cars and bangers but too grippy for good speedway. Lumps, bumps and holes wouldn't solve the problem. Who wants to see riders making mistakes on every corner or being thrown off line? The best speedway racing we see on telly is when tracks are smooth and riders have the confidence to race wheel to wheel without fear of piling up due to a bumpy track. Iversen asked in his Tweet 'what happened to the good old Poole?' suggesting he used to enjoy the track and it used to be smoother. Are we saying the racing is now better because of the lumps and bumps? He also said that Poole isn't the only track. Funny that Belle Vue doesn't have lumps and bumps yet produces the best speedway in the UK.
  7. The lumps and bumps were there for all to see last night. Vindicated what Iversen had to say a couple of weeks ago.
  8. Indeed, hence why I said 'on last night's evidence'. If you go there next week and win big then Poole would be favourites. Can't see anything other than a Rebels victory though.
  9. Can't see us beating anyone over two legs as we don't win our home meetings by big enough margins. That said we are pretty good at Somerset if we can somehow get them in the semis. If it is a Pirates/Rebels final you would have to put Somerset down as slight favourites on last night's evidence.
  10. The trouble is they now have no choice, I agree there have been plenty of weeks to get these fixtures in but now that this meeting has been rained off for a second time it's either run a double header or miss the cut off so it's an easy decision. Double headers certainly aren't ideal, especially against the same team. The whole fixture list needs a massive shake up for next year, it's not rocket science that people prefer regular speedway.
  11. The most likely explanation for me is that the information the club received suggested their world be some rain which would pass through before start time.....it would seem there has been more than anticipated hence the early call off.
  12. The club get their forecast from the weather station at RAF Marham, I they have been told that the rain will have come and gone by start time then that is the information they'll go with.
  13. Indeed, nothing at all to do with the fact that the guy at number one scored three points, all Robert's fault. On a serious note his last three matches have seen pretty low scores compared to his season so far. Obviously testament to how fantastic he has been this year on a consistent basis but also a sign that something isn't quite right with him at the minute. Hopefully it's a machinery issue which can be ironed out and not fatigue or burn out as his work load has been enormous in 2018.
  14. The difference is that Simon Lambert has been around for fourteen years and has reached his level, Kasper is nineteen and in theory could be a lot better than he is now. He may not be but at this stage nobody knows. Certainly a big ask for him to fill Bjerre's shoes right now though.
  15. He is young and raw, we saw bits and pieces of potential earlier in the season but also races where he looked out if his depth. His gating wasn't great either so I think riding in the top five of a CL team will be tough for him but I would expect him to get better with each meeting and score some points. As has been said though certainly not near the level of Bjerre. These are his stats from Lynn's website (matches, rides, points, bonus, GSA, ave, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, ret, except) Kasper Andersen 7 22 14 5 2.55 3.45 0 3 8 9 1 1
  16. Hard to say Sid, he is still young and raw so in theory could improve given time. He needs to learn to get out of the gate a lot better for a start to give himself a better chance of scoring points. Apparently he was as fast as anyone during the time trials early in the season so has the speed but it's all about translating that into four good laps and points. His spell at Sheffield should give us a better idea.
  17. This is the whole point. There needs to be a greater appetite across British speedway to provide the paying public with what they have paid for ie fifteen heats of speedway and not just ten to get a result.
  18. STARS V WOLVERHAMPTON, PREVIEW Sunday August 12, 2018 KING’S LYNN are targeting a sixth straight success at the Adrian Flux Arena on Monday when they host Wolverhampton (7.30). The Tru Plant Stars have been on an impressive run of late and currently find themselves in the play-off positions. But Monday’s opponents are hot on their heels and team boss Dale Allitt says his side will again need to demonstrate the belief and approach they’ve shown in recent weeks. “We’ll need that determined attitude once again because Wolverhampton may still be looking for their first away win of the season, but they’re a real solid, capable outfit as always,” he said. “They’ve got a number of riders in the likes of Rory Schlein, Sam Masters, Kyle Howarth and Ashley Morris who have all had spells with Stars at some point and go well here at The Adrian Flux Arena. “So this is another key meeting for us and fingers crossed we can add another three league points to the board and send them home empty handed.” The fanzone will be open once again prior to the meeting where supporters will be able to test their gating skills and reactions on the reaction bike. There will also be a children’s colouring competition with goodie bags for the first 200 kids through the turnstiles. KING’S LYNN: Robert Lambert, Erik Riss, Ty Proctor, Thomas Jorgensen, Niels-Kristian Iversen, Michael Palm Toft, Simon Lambert. WOLVERHAMPTON: Rory Schlein, Kyle Howarth, Jonas B Andersen, Sam Masters, Jacob Thorssell, Ashley Morris, James Sarjeant. From kingslynnstars.co.uk
  19. Skidder stirring the pot once again, nobody said he was unfit, the wording was 'not 100% fit'. I'm sure many speedway riders compete without being fully fit but even if Lynn could bring him back in they have decided to stick with Simon who is doing a decent job and is 100%. It's a good move for Kasper, gets him some racing and experience in the UK which should benefit he and Lynn going forward.
  20. I'm not a fan of that move personally, Mr Ped did it twice in that race. By all means squeeze your opponent up but leave them some room to get through even if it's minimal rather than sticking your rear tyre on the kickboard.
  21. SIMON TO REMAIN A STAR Friday August 10, 2018 KING’S LYNN have confirmed they’ll continue to use Simon Lambert at reserve for the foreseeable future. The 29-year-old came in as a temporary replacement for injury victim Kasper Andersen last month - who crashed again during Saturday’s Danish Championship. Tru Plant Star boss Dale Allitt said: “Simon has contributed some important points since stepping in at reserve - particularly in our more recent meetings. “With that in mind and Kasper not 100% fit we’ve decided to reward Simon with some additional meetings. “We continue to wish Kasper a speedy recovery and when he proved he is 100% fit again, he will be back in the plans of King’s Lynn Speedway whenever that may be.” King’s Lynn are back in action on Monday (August 13, 7.30) when they host Wolverhampton at The Adrian Flux Arena.
