Surely having signed for Ipswich first they get priority over Rory? -
King's Lynn V Belle Vue - 19 April 2017
Bagpuss replied to Mimmo's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
People keep talking about it being grippy but there was dust from about heat 6. Just can't fathom how a (very good) away side can come to Lynn and gate so much better and look so much faster. In my morning moan I forgot to congratulate Belle Vue, very worthy winners. Also well done to the promotion for having the whole thing done and dusted in 85 minutes, they are obviously listening to their customers on that front. Don't think a 20 min interval is unreasonable. Also good to hear Gavin on the mic trying to lift the atmosphere. -

I think part of the trouble semmers is the shale used, it's just not conducive to good speedway. Seems to suit the stock cars which are the cash cow for the stadium and take priority. The need to sort the racing is pretty massive, crowds will dwindle to very few eventually if people keep turning up for follow the leader stuff. -
We looked awful tonight. Should still make the Play Offs but were light years behind Belle Vue. It's all about getting Holder and Huckenbeck going and at this moment I'm not sure they will, although still early days

King's Lynn V Belle Vue - 19 April 2017
Bagpuss replied to Mimmo's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Slick, grippy, it seems to make little difference. Seems like a long, long time since we saw a decent meeting at Lynn. Can't remember seeing riders so strung out after a even one lap so much. Was quite vocal about the lack of entertainment on Saturday at Rye but that was probably worse. Time for Buster to consider a change of track shape, he has Carte Blanche to take the white line in as far as he wants as we desperately need more racing lines. Fourteen drag races just isn't good VFM, was absolutely perfect for good gaters like Cook and Worrall. Young Bewley looks like he is going to be the real deal despite his low score. For Lynn only Holder knows if he really wants to be racing in Britain but I suspect not, his bike was so slow. Only really Batchelor and Bailey got pass marks really, same old problems for Lambert of dreadful gating and Huckenbecks body language on the bike when he gets a bit out of shape is awful, he has probably thrown away five points last night and Saturday and needs to get it sorted if he is going to be the trump card reserve most of us thought. -

A cold evening may dictate the gripiness of the track. -
Kyle Howarth has so far been much better than I expected for Wolves.

This is going to be mighty tough, Belle Vue look like THE team to beat pre average fiddling / changes so wouldn't be surprised if they went away with the points. -
I think the move to Midenhall was all about the £'s.

Mountain is a decent shout to share, bound to miss too many meetings for Ipswich and Mildy if he took the role full time.

Surely having won heat 14 Heeps should have been in the last race? -
Rye House V King's Lynn 15/04/17
Bagpuss replied to tellboy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think as paying customers we are entitled to say if we think the racing is poor and the track too slick. It doesn't necessarily mean that we are bad losers or that our own track is amazing. I don't blame the conditions for our loss, our riders just weren't good enough on the night and Rye deserved it. But the entertainment was poor for £18, as it can be quite often at Lynn too. -

KK if he doesn't get his arse into gear soon. Klindt and Shanes will probably be dispensed with before the Play Offs too. The other four (Newman not Kerr) are the basis of a decent side although Holder should be doing a bit more. -

Call it sour grapes if you like but the majority of the comments agree with what you have just said..... -

Poole really are yet to convince, don't see them anywhere near the title without two or three changes. -

Funny you should say that as I stood there when we were only four down and thought that even if we gated our way to victory from there it still wouldn't have been worth £18 as the racing was so poor. As you say Rye has always been slick but I've never known it to be as one dimensional as last night, if anything the camber removal seems to have made things worse as the fastest line is now up to the fence exiting bend two, with absolutely nothing on offer down low. Anyway I expect I'll be back for the B fixture and hopefully the action is much better whatever the result. -

Easy to label riders as disgraceful but the margins are so fine in terms of getting to the first bend in front or not and that's where the meeting was won and lost. As long as everybody is giving 100% I don't really ask too much more as a paying supporter. Of course Holder should be winning races but I doubt he's been to Rye for ten or so years, it was a tough night for everyone and you just have to move on to the next one. -
A lot of faith is being shown in Josh because he is a club product. I think the original plan of him sharing with somebody would help him, I wouldn't want to see him cast adrift completely although this will probably happen if we are able to strengthen up when the new averages cone out.

Rye deserved their win and we paid for a dreadful start but in terms of value for money three genuine passes in fifteen heats on a track with one line is pretty poor for eighteen quid. Don't think there was any lack of effort or commitment from any Lynn rider but the majority just couldn't find the set up to get to the first bend in front and that was absolutely vital. Good to see a big crowd and the stadium being improved, hopefully the first bend terracing will return. Great to catch up with Shads after too many years, shame to miss HT who I would have sought out had I known he was there! -
Interesting to see one or two Poole fans turning on Lord Ford. I can't stand the bloke but on this occasion IF the rules state that a facility can't be revoked then it's the rulebook itself which has allowed Kasprzak to stick two fingers up to British speedway. Whichever way round it is its yet another nail in the coffin unfortunately.
