Quite agree EIA. Like it or not the NL is essentially a training league and since the rules have been tightened it has started producing lots of good quality two and three pointers for the PL (Championship). I would like to see over a period of time older riders phased out so that eventually each team has just one 'old hand' and six youngsters, six riders who have the potential to ride at a higher level. I think NL matches are more attractive with more exciting teenage talent in the two sides.

Looks like a solid, workmanlike line up which as usual will win the vast majority of home matches, but may find life tough away from home. Will be in the higher reaches of the table but don't see them challenging for honours unless Clegg or greater Riss have break through seasons.

An awful lot of pressure being put on young Holder by Poole fans, let's hope for their sake he can handle it.
-
Seem to remember Schlein tweeting about Olly being his 'new boss' several weeks ago.....
-
And plenty of posters who are full of 'it'.
-
Wasn't bike issues fb, believe me. Just gated stone last.

I remember KK coming to Lynn two or three years ago, he trailed in a poor last in his first two heats, not gating and giving up somewhere on lap three both times. Then he won his last three rides by quarter of a lap, blowing everyone away including Puk twice. To me that sums him up in a nutshell, if he can be bothered he'll be a brilliant signing but it's as always a massive if.

Of course there will be riders who like 'their' club and the promotion will like them but from year to year the points limit can rule them out of they might be offered a better deal elsewhere, that's just how it is. Lord Ford gets a lot of justified criticism but he always builds his teams to win the league regardless of 'loyalty' and that's exactly how it should be.
-
At the end of the day speedway riders are self employed, they are given work in the UK on a supply and demand basis and I don't believe that either they or the clubs who provide them with contacts owe each other anything. Therefore loyalty isn't really a factor IMO.
-
Skornicki will be fine and he'll score plenty of points.
-
I wouldn't be too offended by the guff that Starman comes out with, his posts can be put down to a severe lack of intelligence rather than anything else.
-
Good on you for not toeing the party propaganda line.
-
Agreed, it's also fairly unique in how it rides and how the bike needs to be set up for it so I'm told. The point is Lambert has struggled there having had a handful of visits while far more experienced riders still do after years and years of meetings at Poole.
-
Absolutely. I can remember the likes of Adrian Stevens, Roger Horspool, Darren Spicer, Emerson Fairweather and Robert Ledwith at Lynn.
-
Plenty of away riders struggle to score points at Wimborne Road for whatever reason.

Does British Speedway Have Future?
Bagpuss replied to Pieman72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Better live IMO. The smell and the noise all add to the experience. -
I'm not convinced by Klindt full stop. Anyway, can't believe this Holder stuff is still rumbling on. KK frees up points elsewhere on what is a tight points limit. Whether he will do the job Holder would have done remains to be seen but it's totally logical why that choice was made.
-
Fair enough. Even better!
-
Lynn have 2.84 left. Not hard for Col to find on this forum if he looked. Schlein and Bjerre would have been 0.02 over with those other five.
-
I don't rate Greaves at all but he is more experienced than other number sevens and should score points. Play Off certainties and could well finish top of the pile.
-
Schlein had a big fall out with the promoter and probably won't race for the club again. As for Holder's unachievable average, it's for teambuilding purposes only. Teams won't be building to fifty in respect of any mid season changes.
-
Two years is a long time and a lot of speedway meetings, it's quite possible. He'll still only be twenty so even then younger than the riders you mention are now. I don't think people fully appreciate just how much ability he has at such a young age. He is years off his probable peak.
-
Are you talking about Lambert or Harris? Robert is only eighteen and only going one way. Bomber's best days are behind him. No brainer which one is better value. That said agree with everyone who has pointed out his gating, until he sorts that he will find things extremely difficult. Hopefully one day soon it will click.
-
I think Davey's career results are due to a lack of ability rather than his injuries. He'll do a job at number seven but can't see him improving too much.
-
Agree, he'll improve once again but not by enough to challenge Holder this year. He'll probably get to that level one day but not just yet. I certainly wouldn't swap him for anyone else on his average.
