  1. Don't think Newcastle will make top four, tail looks too long on paper. Would love them to with the Lynn connections mind.
  2. Me too but they need to be consistent. Should only be awarded to those who do ten consecutive years with one team.
  3. A LOT of new riders would need to be found for amalgamation. Look at how many riders will be doubling up next season.
  4. Indeed. Don't see the fuss when he is an average foreigner, we are going with a gradually improving club graduate instead. And one who probably exceeded expectations last year. Precisely. While not being the end of the world the fact that so many Poole posters can see nothing wrong with it at all speaks volumes unfortunately. If it was the EDP announcing Puk the night before Lord Ford was due to do so for example their tune world be very different. The whole thing represents a lack of class IMO.
  5. Cradley are obsessed with three big hitting heatleaders. Interesting to see if they can back them up this year.
  6. While I agree that Lord Ford deserves an almighty comeuppance one day on this occasion I don't think he is to blame, no doubt the journalist has been sitting on the information for days if not weeks. In the papers defence tomorrow wouldn't be ideal with AFC Bournemouth playing (you know what the EDP is like when Norwich are in action) but not sure why it couldn't wait til next week. Everybody who cares had a good idea it was going to happen anyway so it would have been good etiquette for what is a minority sport for the signing club to 'break' the news officially. Anyway it is what it is and I'm really pleased with the team whoever is at number seven.
  7. Rose and Lambert were pretty obvious signings, club assets and rode last year. That said I'm sure Porsing will get a clip round the lughole for his faux pas. Holder however is the marquee signing and new number one. Wouldn't be so bad if they had run the story at the start of the week but to do it the day before the official announcement is pretty poor. Probably ties in with AFC Bournemouth coverage but it's a massive two fingers up to a speedway promotion and confirms that many journalists are up there with many taxi drivers as the biggest plonkers we have to put up with in life (IMO of course).
  8. Really, really poor taste for the Echo to blurt it out the day before a supporters meeting. So just the number seven to be revealed then, hope its young Josh as there's nothing quite like seeing homegrown talent graduate to the first team. Also don't understand the calls for Hansen to be in the team, was pretty ordinary for Coventry last time he rode EL and Rose deserves his spot for his efforts last year. EDIT Has the Holder story been pulled? The link to the Echo story earlier in the thread draws a blank when clicked.....
  9. Not sure riding Armadale and Monmore every week is going to help to that end really. Comes across as a rider who has never had a big home track and could really do with one, although you can understand him remaining with the two clubs with whom he is happy and settled.
  10. Sheffield always had a bit more home advantage when the track was a bit deeper, with better racing and more home wins surely a grippier track is a no brainer.
  11. Probably Rose rather than Slambert with Bailey at seven.
  12. Poole will fine away. Struggling to understand how Shanes has achieved more when he hasn't done a PL season and Bailey has
  13. Sounds like a generated story to add a bit of 'mystery' to the inevitable signing of Kurtz.
  14. 'King's Lynn's owner seems more bothered about other clubs than the one he actually owns'. That's called being the BSPA's top man and having to clear up the mess of two failed promotions. If only he had somebody like Rob Lyon to look after his own club in his absence.....
  15. That's a top drawer opening partnership. Don't know what happened to that screamer change chap, he'd have been good for the team, never frightened to put his back wheel in where it hurt
  16. It's already been mentioned, and that suspicion will always be there. As for not putting him in his line up, I think Mr Ford is well within his rights to go with Kasprzak instead as it frees up more points and gives their team a much better balance. With Holder they would probably be looking at having to go without one of Holder, Kurtz or Newman or with carp reserves or a weak second heat leader. I think it's the right call.
  17. If my Auntie had balls etc.... I don't think there is any doubt that Glasgow's two reserves have improvement in them and probably Lunna too. Just depends if their improvement along with Bewley can trump Sheffield's and everyone else's. Looks like a really open title race this year and I have a feeling there will be at least one surprise package.
  18. Nothing pointless about correcting an inaccuracy.
  19. That's fine, but why come out with all that other squit when others say it's Belle Vue? How about having an adult discussion instead and telling us WHY you think it's the Oak Tree Arena? Personally I'd put Somerset third behind Belle Vue and Scunthorpe but it's all about opinions, and that doesn't mean that I don't think that Somerset is a fantastic race track because it is.
