  1. That's the problem with people on here, tracks abdn riders are either diabolical and terrible. or brilliant. Never anything in between. Without bring dramatic the track was s little tricky until the first grade but was dine thereafter. No doubt lots of water was put down in the short timeframe after practice to get through twenty heats dust free in the evening which meant it was a little tricky early on.
  2. Also regarding the car parking I expect most other outdoor events in the UK this summer involve parking in a grass field and walking. Its not ideal but hardly unique to Lynn.
  3. The track wasn't diabolical at all, in fact after the first few races it was excellent considering the heat and the fact it had been practiced on in the afternoon. True it suits other countries more than us but I expect if another track applied to hold the event it might get moved.
  4. Cook looked outclassed tonight, think he has missed a trick in his development by doing the PL again this year rather than riding in foreign leagues, assuming of course that his hand wasn't forced. Just read on Twitter that he and Kennett have been dropped for Barker and Bridger, not a huge suprise in all honesty. Not a great meeting tonight for me, too many predictable heats although there were one or two decent races.
  5. I think Lynn use Robert Lambert when it suits Robert Lambert rather than when it suits Lynn. And why should he not ride in Germany at weekends? Far better for his development than NL.
  6. Kerr is reserve for Newcastle at the Fours today. Looking at the updates from Leicester last night it seems like Worrall (guesting for Edberg) had a couple of falls so could have picked up a knock.
  7. Is this the friendliest Glasgae / Embra thread ever
  8. Lewis Rose is what the NL is all about, he has improved so much in a short space of time. I'm with semion, its more about rider development than winning at this level but beating your local rivals is always nice
  9. orion is right in that Kennett, Barker and King are much of a muchness but if the side is being chosen on form there's only one choice and thats Barker. He's hardly inexperienced either. Kennett is a strange and poor choice in that regard for me. Its a year too soon for Worrall IMO.
  10. Worrall but no Cook? Can't agree with that, or that you are judging Cook from a couple of rides on a ploughed field when he was a reserve.i Whoever is picked lets hope that the squad gets a practice session at Lynn some time before the meeting to give them the best chance.
  11. Zagar was unlucky IMO, he was in front and just using the racing line. Emil was also unfortunate, the margins are inches and split seconds and on another day he'd have squeezed through or not passed but stayed upright. One if those where, for me, nobody was really at fault and one where an 'all four back' rule which could be used at any point in a race would be useful. For that to work though you would need referees who will always make the tough decisions and not use any new rule as the easy option..........
  12. Great effort by Somerset, although when you have strong heat leaders you always have a chance of a point. Gutted for Lewis Rose, he was really starting to look the part for the Young Stars.
  13. I think that must have been the day I met you, statman and womble for the first time, 2008 possibly?
  14. Just caught up with some recent Speedway Stars and even though Middlo has picked the squad 'on form' he has selected Howarth rather than Richard Lawson. Dear me.
  15. They'd be silly to not use Bjerre at Lynn. I'd go with Nicki P, Puk, Bjerre and Kildemand.
  16. Hmmmm, this jackal character is either on a wind up or has lost the plot. Which do people think it is?
  17. Its already been said that he will ride in away matches which don't clash with his continental commitments. Therefore he will ride in some.
  18. Barker then.......you can't possibly rule Worrall out but Auty in.
  19. Somerset aren't the first track to be caught out by the weather and I'm sure they won't be the last. Very unfortunate of course for Worky fans who travelled but probably best to not make mountains out of molehills. The apology by the club draws a line under things IMO.
  20. From www.klstars.co.uk This coming Wednesday, the King's Lynn Young Stars are aiming to make it through to the next round of the National League Knockout cup competition when they face Stoke at the Norfolk Arena. King's Lynn suffered a 57-32 defeat to the Potters in the first leg, which gives the Young Stars a tough task to overturn the deficit and move on in the competition, but team manager Dale Allitt has revealed that the riders are determined to progress. Allitt said: "We have 25 points to make up but after the events at Stoke, the boys are fired up. Hopefully we can get a big crowd to cheer us on at the Norfolk Arena this Wednesday night, it makes a big difference when the supports turn out in force." The Young Stars side takes on a slightly changed lineup. Lewis Rose moves into the main body of the team having put in a number of impressive performances during recent meetings, while Shane Hazelden is the man to move down to reserve. Robert Lambert returns to the team having missed the first leg, his inclusion is a big boost for the Young Stars as they aim to make it into the next round. Gates open at the Norfolk Arena at 6:30pm.
