I suspect they will look much better in the flesh rather than an illustration.

SGB Championship 2024 Confirmed Signings
Bagpuss replied to bloom89's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I'm not sure we won't this year....there is a distinct top five and bottom four IMO, can see Berwick, Worky, Edinburgh and Plymouth losing at home to the other five quite a bit. Time will tell. -
Leicester reserves poor IMO when you compare them with everybody else's, bar perhaps Sheffield but their top five is better. Think I put Leicester 6th and I stand by that.
-
If Emil and Doyle don't finish first and second in the averages again this year then my gob will be well and truly smacked.
-
I think Ipswich have sorted their bottom end issues out and Rew will be much different with a year under his belt. I'd also question if Fricke is as good as Doyle on GB tracks.

There are a couple of threads in the General Discussions section that you should be on by the sound of it

Thanks. Reading between he lines it seems his departure might be linked to the fallout between Buster and Brady. A pity because he was decent on the mic. -

I think the argument is that Worrall, Masters, Becker, Schlein and Cook were probably much stronger at home compared to away than most riders in the league due to riding a unique track every Monday and they will struggle to replicate that scoring at their new tracks. As has been said BV had a good side hence the big wins last year. Every track has an advantage for its home riders but you've got to have a decent side with experience of the circuit, and it needs to be prepared the same every week. I don't see Leicester being as successful as others do but we shall see.

Absolutely. Just think where speedway could be today if that money had been spent properly and wisely. The decision makers throughout those years should be ashamed.
-
Spot on.

They were rearranged fixtures though.....if Kemp is signing for a team whose whole fixture list he can't commit to because of a foreign league then no facility should be allowed.

It seems I do too -
Why is a facility allowed?

I'm torn on this one, it's absolutely a common sense decision as we don't want riders like Perry missing out and its essentially a training/development league but as a look for speedway in general its not good. All in all though it's a better outcome than the lad not racing in the NL.

That is sad to hear. Think he was the one who came up with the Silver Machine theme and his financial backing enabled signings like Rickardsson, Crump, Adams and Pedersen to happen 1999-2001. RIP. -
Not for me. I applaud them for improving the dimensions of the track and trying to improve their product, and its interesting to see what they've been doing and how. And at the end of the day the motorway blade they have there which has been in photos will smooth it all out to a billiard table before the season starts anyway.

In fairness its just one poster having a moan.

Well done to Hagon but it was five decent riders, him and not a great deal after that.
-
Somebody has to finish top and somebody bottom but in a ideal world everyone would win the majority of their hone meetings with good racing to keep the home punters happy. What people will soon tire of is clatterings on home shale where the away team rocks up and gates their way to 55+. We've had plenty of those at Lynn over the last few years Some have suggested that away wins might be at a premium this season and I hope thats right. The same for injuries, rain offs and therefore guests & R/R would be nice too.

Maybe the riderssigned represent the best of who actually want to ride in the UK? It's all very well people talking about Zmarzlik, Laguta and Dudek but if they don't want to cone then it means zip.
