I applaud any rider who leaves behind the easy money of the Championship to broaden their horizons abroad. -

I'd suggest that not riding Monmore every week will do him the world of good too. -

You may well be right but with Douglas at 1 and Kemp at 7 Scunthorpe have every chance. -

Having drawn at WR in the Play Offs not that long ago Scunny will fancy their chances. -

NDLRC take 2 Sunday 15th October

A lot of fuss over Thompson & Ablitt riding at Scunthorpe but I don't understand why that means there are nine changes -
I think it all boils down to their ambition and desire to see the biggest names possible at Ashfield. I expect they know that it wouldn't mean more punters, that Thursdays wouldn't work quite as well as Fridays and that they wouldn't have local derbies any more. But all that taken into account I'm sure they could make it work if the desire was there to do so. If its not, then fair enough.

I don't think they are British speedway's saviours at all, the problems run far deeper than that but I'd be astonished if riders like Emil, Doyle, Bewley, Lambert, Tai etc don't get extra bums on seats when they are in town. As a general point though Id agree that telly money has been utterly squandered since 1999.

I would love to see Bomber at Lynn. You would imagine one or two P'boro riders will end up at Lynn should they not run too. And I'd welcome back any of Pickering, Klindt, Lawson, Lambert (either) and Rowe. -
I'm sure it was said by Alex Brady last year that paying for Laguta came from the TV money.

I keep reading this and I always have the same thought.....a club like Glasgow with a good racetrack moving up would enhance the Prem, so even if one considered the top league to be 'inferior' it would be less so with Glasgow in it. You'd have seven in each division and a more even spread of the better circuits. Plus why would you not want to see the likes of Emil, Doyle, Bewley, Holder, Tai, Laguta, Lambert etc on a regular basis?

I'm sure those running Brum aren't daft and know the score, and if they can only run on Mondays then they have no choice anyway.

Let's hope so -
What a speedway rider Chris Harris has been and is, will be a sad day when he packs in.

Fair point, but 'Arena Essex Hammers' is nearly 40 years old. The point is that if you're starting up a speedway team again you'd surely want to use the name that the club has always had would you not.

You'd suspect they'll be keeping Masters & Nicholls so perhaps no room for Kerr too.

Yep, it not like those club names have forty or fifty plus years of history attached to them is it?
