  1. One of those British riders in particular would have meant a very, very good looking side but it is what it is. They seem to have tried very hard to use all the points but sometimes it doesn't work out. I'm happy they've had a clear out and have signed some proper racers. Just need to get the track right.
  2. Absolutely, in the last half a dozen seasons Swindon, Lynn and Dad's Army P'boro have all finished top of the pile having been predicted to finish bottom. In such a small league if things go your way you can have a very good season.
  3. Absolutely. Over the last couple of seasons Lynn's turnover of riders has been far too high, either through injury or poor form. Need to have a settled side and build up some momentum, and hope that others underachieve.
  4. I suspect we are in the same position as the last couple of seasons....very difficult to put us above four others on paper, BUT if the stars align and we have far more luck with injuries and availability then fourth could happen. Difference this season is that we start with a proper number one. First priority has to be to win far more home meetings and take it from there.
  5. I very much take your point but I suspect the expectation, rightly or wrongly, is that Boughen will be in a different class to Pjiper with all due respect to him. For a sixteen year old to produce that ride in the above video a little more than a year after first getting on a speedway bike it pretty remarkable.
  6. Riders verbally agree to all sorts of things then get a better offer and go elsewhere, it happens every year and always will. Lynn have had two riders do it this winter. It's just how it is, and how you guys signed Lawson. No point in jumping up and down about it however irritating it is.
  7. Happy with those. Presumably Klindt was earmarked for Neils' spot originally but I think as a second string he will do well.
  8. I don't know what the rules and regs are regarding speedway tracks opening close to others but there is little doubt in my mind that unless the two clubs worked together to avoid running meetings too in the same week then either or both would really struggle. There just aren't enough interested people locally to support two venues IMO although I'd love to be proved wrong. As a venue though I think Swaffham could work, it's in a good location.
  9. I think the whole conversation started because folk were going OTT about Doyle's 'loyalty'. As for Lynn's team, they are likely to be a mixture of returning riders, some from Buster's other club and one who is looking for a team because of the points limit. So I don't really see a 'mercenary' in there but there we are. Wouldn't disagree about Laguta too much although I would say that when he was there he put in a lot more effort than people not at the meetings would assume and when he wasn't it was because Wroclaw ordered him to not ride.
  10. Because Poole think they are the cat whiskers and nobody would dare leave them out of choice?
  11. A little, but those two Brits have deals elsewhere and BV's job is to build the best possible team under the points limit.
  12. The fact that I'm a Lynn fan is neither here nor there, I don't really consider there to be that much of a rivalry between Lynn, Ipswich and P'boro nowadays. Maybe years ago when riders had deep club loyalties and didn't double up ir ride abroad, but not really any more. I admire Ipswich a lot they're a great club. I didn't expect this whole thing to blow up as it has, I just wanted to balance out the whole loyalty thing and the clog that other riders who don't base themselves in the UK get for not being 'loyal'. And Doyle has had agreements with Lynn in the recent past, but obviously it all comes down to the deals offered which is absolutely fair enough, and happens every year with many different riders.
  13. There is really no need to refer to people as idiots and write posts like you are thirteen years old. Surely we can all debate and discuss in a mature and controlled manner? Not difficult to show some manners and be mature.
  14. The reason they would start with Boughen if they do is so that they beieve he will develop rapidly and that he would blossom through the season and be a weapon come the Play Offs. Not starting the season with him means that almost certainly wouldn't work. If the viewpoint is that he's going to develop at a rate of knots then averages in lower leagues are pretty irrelevant.
  15. Why not debate without personal attacks and insults? Why be so triggered by somebody posting a pretty mild opinion? Dear me.
  16. I expect he joined the long list of folk who Buster has fallen out with. Come to think of it it was 2017 and the fateful night v Poole when Holder and Batchelor were a disgrace, probably something to do with that.
  17. I'd say he's reasonable value on 6.39.
  18. Load of fuss about nothing. As long as the meeting is run in a reasonable time ie 90 mins or so then what difference does it make how often the tractor does a bit of grading?
