  1. Everyone has riders they do and don't like but if a promotion has ambition and the financial means to stage top flight speedway then the opportunity to see world class riders every home meeting is a no brainer. Especially round a track like that.
  2. I'm sure it was said by Alex Brady last year that paying for Laguta came from the TV money.
  3. I keep reading this and I always have the same thought.....a club like Glasgow with a good racetrack moving up would enhance the Prem, so even if one considered the top league to be 'inferior' it would be less so with Glasgow in it. You'd have seven in each division and a more even spread of the better circuits. Plus why would you not want to see the likes of Emil, Doyle, Bewley, Holder, Tai, Laguta, Lambert etc on a regular basis?
  4. I'm sure those running Brum aren't daft and know the score, and if they can only run on Mondays then they have no choice anyway.
  5. What a speedway rider Chris Harris has been and is, will be a sad day when he packs in.
  6. Well done Glasgow, delighted to be proved wrong. Particularly pleased for @Paulco
  7. Here comes the inevitable Poole fightback. Has Basso had a good meeting at Poole since he joined Glasgow?
  8. Fair point, but 'Arena Essex Hammers' is nearly 40 years old. The point is that if you're starting up a speedway team again you'd surely want to use the name that the club has always had would you not.
  9. You'd suspect they'll be keeping Masters & Nicholls so perhaps no room for Kerr too.
  10. Yep, it not like those club names have forty or fifty plus years of history attached to them is it?
  11. This is the problem with British speedway IMO. Teams of course want home advantage but where possible tracks should be prepared for the best racing that can be provided and with the crowd in mind, not how the home riders want it.
  12. As I said on the other thread unfortunately I think Glasgow had a chance to take the tie by the scruff of the neck but failed to take it, six lasts in the final seven heats last night killed their hopes. They needed a lead of 20+. Poole to win comfortably on aggregate.
  13. Spot on. Needed to be 20+ for Glasgow to have any chance, they needed to ram home their advantage over the last few heats but those last places have cost them.
  14. I suspect it'll be 6 in the Prem (Brum going up), 8 in the Champs and the NDL will remain with fewer clubs but an agreement among those remaining to have some kind of competition which means it can continue.
  15. If the weather warning rings true then they'd be two very different scenarios.
  16. Looks like Scotland is getting biblical rain today, with up to seven inches possible in some places.
  17. In World terms I'd say he's considerably better than Kurtz, Musielak & Fricke. I'd question if he was regularly giving 100% for BV this season personally.
  18. That's great but points across the whole season is more accurate, if anything it highlights Bewleys inconsistency. If you wanted to go micro with the head to head we could refer to heat 18 last Saturday TBH it seems a bit churlish to be arguing about who is better than who, they are both great talents and most importantly British.
