  1. That's fair enough and clearly a factor but you'd still expect one of the top half a dozen riders in the world to score more than five. He had a modest score in Sweden on Tuesday too, it's pretty clear where his priorities lie this week.
  2. Maybe it isn't but Bewley wins GP's and has just scored paid seventeen away from home in an Extraliga final. Something doesn't add up.
  3. A million miles from good enough from Bewley. Can't see BV pulling that back.
  4. That's the bottom line. I think guests, R/R and doubling help don't help though. My wife's grandad no longer goes to Belle Vue regularly for a number of reasons but if you ask him why the first reason he will come out with is the lack of a team identity. I know on the odd occasions I go that if Lynn don't have a full team my enthusiasm drops. Overstated maybe but definitely a factor. I would suggest that apart from replacing number ones there should be a pool of riders to choose guests from who don't ride in the same division abs aren't going to ride for you one week and against you the next.it needs reigning in.
  5. Out of interest how many guests were permitted back in the day? I started going in the the early eighties and I can remember guests for number ones while everything else was covered by R/R and juniors. I could stomach that, it's when teams have been running with three, four and sometimes five riders borrowed from other teams that it gets silly.
  6. Quite apart from that is it not a condition of the local council issuing a safety certificate or whatever is required to allow the venue to operate?
  7. I can remember pink helmet colours being the in thing for a short time in the late 80's instead of red, presumably the authorities clamped down on it sharpish.
  8. Also wasn't that the GP where Gollob grabbed Henka's crown jewels
  9. Ah then it's Berlin, the Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark (had to Google the name!) That was a good un, fair play.
  10. I think there's a lot more to it than that. The bikes are very different and much harder to ride in imperfect conditions, and promotions seem to be reluctant to run in front of rain affected crowds or pay expenses for rider's travel only for the meeting to be off anyway. Don't get me wrong, Brtish speedway has got itself in this hole. But if you are going to have play offs then the season needs organising much better than it has been recently.
  11. Apologies, that's poor etiquette from me to post another one before the current one has been guessed. Yep mines Norwich.
  12. Agree, I don't think this thread is in particularly good taste personally.
  13. I went to Mildenhall regularly in 2006, 07 and 08 when they were in the second division, it was a great track at that level.
