  1. I don't disagree but the trouble is I'm not sure his average has an awful lot of value in it. His effort and commitment last season was without question but is he realistically going to keep that level of scoring up? We'll have to see who else is named instead, if for example it's Wojdylo & MPT you are looking at a Polish rider who showed a lot of potential last year and a Scunny team mate who average a point more than Simon despite a nasty injury.
  2. Or might just be that other options on a six and a bit average have gone elsewhere for more per point. Buster has always worked to a budget, he doesn't have a sponsor with deep pockets like three or four other teams in the league. That's just the reality and consequently it makes being competitive very difficult. I expect MPT is the best of what's left for the last spot if he has signed, regardless of the limit. Just the way it is.
  3. I think there could be a bit of improvement in Tarasenko and Wojdylo assuming they both sign and get on well with the AFA. If the MPT rumour is true then he would appear to be the best version of Plan B that they could come up with once Bomber backed out. That would have been a pretty good side but IF its MPT instead to go with the other rumoured five plus Basso then it looks one good signing short.
  4. Even if that was case, he's got the wrong end of the stick has he not? The AEPG 'angle' as I understood it is that it costs them too much to host speedway as a landlord and that the rent charged doesn't make it worth it. Unless I've got that wrong? Which is rubbish anyway. They just want the speedway gone to make their millions.
  5. If you are adding that to the five being speculated that would be over a point under the limit.
  6. The book 'Out of the Frying Pan' about New Cross speedway is a great read.
  7. Interestingly a top six of Museilak, Basso, Tarasenko, Klindt, Iversen and Lambert would come in at just under the 40 point limit. However if there was an opportunity to get Wojlydo in at reserve rather than Simon I think they should go for it, as good as Lambert was last season.
  8. I agree with you, I don't see an awful lot of improvement, however you could imagine that team winning more home meetings than not and I think that is what's needed, there have been far too many poor performances at Lynn in the last three years. People stop going if the team is losing and the racing poor. Unfortunately the riders with improvement in them get hoovered up by the wealthier clubs who pay more than Buster and we get what's left. Just the way it is unfortunately.
  9. Unlike you to be negative Most importantly it's a clearout from the last three seasons which have been disastrous and a team which would be exciting to watch, especially if Charles Wright filled the last spot.

  11. That was when bikes and riders could cope with different weather and track conditions though.
  12. I'd heard Jenkins but perhaps he's going to Oxford with a couple of others we had agreements with. No idea what's left but I'd heard Brennan might be in the frame and I'd have Charles Wright in a heartbeat. EDIT 11.48 for the other two in the top six if my calculations are correct.
  13. Sorry if I've missed it, is the Championship 2 home and two away this year? If so that's an awful lot of regular fixtures for Oxford to squeeze into seven months.
