I think the main issue with Jason is that even after two half seasons he just didn't look comfortable on the Buster clay. Same with Jakobsen. Both really should have kicked on this year but didn't. Lambert and Rowe will be fine in that regard, whether they can score the points required to win home matches remains to be seen.

I guess it boils down to how ambitious those promotions are, the desire of them and their patrons to see GP standard riders and how good their sponsors are.

Hope so....pointless being in the top league if you can't be competitive, and we haven't been since 2018.

Plymouth v Oxford - Tue 20th June - Champ
Bagpuss replied to Bojangles's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I take your point about Scott, he had a quiet year by his standards in 2022 and you'd be forgiven for thinking he might not reach this seasons heights again at his age. I think Worrall and Howarth's averages were always going to drop once they moved from Leicester. I had Oxford's top three as the leagues strongest in March but fighting to get 5th/6th, the form Atkins, Jenkins and to a lesser extent Heeps has made them much stronger. Things could have been even better had Kileen stayed fit. -

All to do with personnel. Messrs Masters, Kerr and Nicholls are all better than their opposite numbers at Plymouth and Atkins with Kileen/Kinsley have far exceeded what the Plymouth pair have managed which was fairly predictable during to their inexperience. The second strings is why I thought Plymouth would be decent but Gilkes hasn't developed as I thought he might (broken leg last year having a effect no doubt) and Starke was very poor. -
Sheffield v Leicester (Prem R1)

You little tinker. -
Can't afford to be there?

He's riding for Wroclaw this weekend, somebody said so earlier on the thread. So nothing too bad but let's see if he turns up at Monmore on Monday.

Oxford v Poole 21/6/23 Championship.

An enjoyable listen so far -
I know who I believe.

Pretty clear he was offered reduced terms, probably the same for Jakobsen.
-
He's clearly talking about the Championship.

I think Klindt getting away from number one and finding a good set up has done him the world of good. No idea about Akex Brady but apart from Artem everyone else have been as wonderfully inconsistent as ever.

We're all bored of your anti Buster crusade, stop polluting threads with it, go and make your own thread somewhere and leave us all alone. Agree. I started watching about an hour behind so have only just read the thread and it's full of absolute garbage. Thought that was a pretty good meeting, we are obviously struggling this season so all you can ask is for the team to give it their all and show some fight, and they did that. Unfortunately Laguta was never going to carry on after getting a knock but he was fully committed on track. Riss was either uninterested or unfit, you feel with a half decent guest we would have won that.

Cheers, had forgotten about the aborted comeback at Owlerton.

Struggling to work out which two away matches give him a 2.67 average?

That's the spirit Harris and Lawson concern me, that's a great pairing at Lynn. I think the comment from szkocjasid referred to me saying that it might be seen as good to get R/R rides out of the way early, I can't think of a reason why but nine times out of ten teams run it at 2 so there must be a logic.

So I'm getting a bit of stick for this The point I'm making and obviously not getting across very well is that we have the basic Sky package with no Sky Sports, movies etc. just entertainment, even if I had no interest in any sport at all we would still get Eurosport as I understand it so tonight's speedway is automatically there on my telly because I choose to watch all the other Sky channels that come with the entertainment package. As it is I won't be finishing work until 7pm so it'll be the TV for me rather than rushing about like a blue arsed fly and probably missing heat 1 to be there.

I think they were probably spooked by the yellow weather warning but they've essentially cancelled the meeting because if a 60% chance of showers, always a good chance it was going to stay dry.

Ah Facebook, now that's a different matter
