  1. As usual you are running on about something you know very little about, I'm a season ticket holder and in the majority of home meetings he was box office. There were a couple of meetings he was all at sea in terms of speed but he was generally very good and I'd have him back next year.
  2. I'm sure its not as simple as that. As has been said they had a deal which fell through late in the day, pretty sure Parr was on an episode of No Brakes No Fear at the time and explained it. No doubt they would prefer seven riders rather than having to source guests. They never seem to have much luck with injuries/illness unfortunately.
  3. I dont think we saw the best version of Leicester last night but much of that is down to Ipswich's performance and not allowing the Lions to be at their best. The reserves were the main difference, Kemp is such a frustrating enigma. Emil and Brennan were outstanding, the former was unfortunate in 15 when Douglas parked it in front of him. The second leg ought to be a formality but if Leicester make some starts and get an early lead it could get interesting. Expect the Witches to hit 50 though and have it won before heat 15.
  4. Not really sure what you expected, he is a 6 ish point rider nowadays in the Prem and rode to that average. The entertainment factor is worth far more though.
  5. I was referring to Wimborne Road. Late 90's / early 00's it was excellent. Redcar always been very good in my experience.
  6. Very much like Lynn, but that is mainly due to the high clay content material which just doesnt suit modern speedway bikes. That said it very, very rarely has bumps and holes. Perhaps a poor track gives Poole greater home advantage and home wins mean more bums on seats. Wouldn't be the first club to do that.
  7. I think Michelsen can count himself rather unlucky. The Tai one is very odd.
  8. Maybe but that had nothing to do with last night's crash, none of the GP boys were in that heat, he had made a good start and was in complete control of the race. Just a big slice of bad luck, it happens.
  9. I think its more likely because it just not a very good speedway track nowadays. Used to be very good but that was some time ago (20 years plus).
  10. Certainly wasn't 'overdoing it' but was unfortunate to pick up some unexpected grip coming out of turn two while leading. Was a real shame as he was riding splendidly up to that point and had beaten all three of Gorzow's GP men in their own back yard.
  11. Big difference between a track which is usually excellent being poor now and again and a track which is usually poor being excellent now and again.
  12. Doesn't really matter which teams are or aren't involved, its the inconsistency that gets to people. I was under the impression you could have guests for pretty much anything in the NL & NDT anyway, obviously not!
  13. It'd be interesting to know why Oxford weren't allowed one for Jason Garrad and Poole are for Richard Lawson.
  14. Paluch and R/R making all the difference. Byd need Huckenbeck to pull his finger out, such a frustrating rider.
  15. To that end I'd recommend that you contact Jason Pipe and he'll tell you how many riders agreed to ride and then withdrew or were asked but declined the invitation. The 'Young Stars' part of the meeting name was to differentiate between the level that the senior side ride at and the National Development League which pretty much every rider in the meeting rides in. As an event I think it was a big success and will have done many of the riders present the world of good.
  16. Did you actually watch? GB had a plan with Lambert on the inside and Bewely on the outside every time, worked well. RUSHEN for crying out loud. If somebody does then brilliant, a nice problem to have.
  17. Did I dream it or did Sheffield get a facility for Jack Holder for family reasons earlier in the season?
  18. I think its a matter of a lack of experience abroad for the two Lukes, in terms of how to ride those tracks and set the bike up for them. They will both have learned a shed load from the meeting but I think the Team GB set up needs to get our 15 & 16 year olds riding in Poland and other countries on 500cc machines more regularly if we want to be competitive in these types of meetings. You could see from the way they were riding that Bednar, the Danes, the Aussies etx are all completely at home on a track like Torun and that only comes from experience, and probably loads of training time.
  19. Yep I'd go Cairns & Rushen for next time and stick with them while they are eligible. Presume its a SWC event next year rather than SoN?
  20. Its more about pairings and who rides better with who. Howarth has been at 4 all season, you wouldn't move him just for the final. King has been at 2 pretty much all year too.
