Same way you can top a league table and not win the title I guess. -

Smektala any good? -
I think we all need to remember why we watch sport, and thats to enjoy it, enjoy the really good moments as they don't come round very often. Beating your local rivals in the 30th heat of a semi final should absolutely be savoured. The riders will know that they need to go again with that same intensity of the final. If that doesn't go to plan and they'd held back on the good feeling of the semi final then its celebrations wasted. I'd never criticise any team for celebrating any win in any sport, as long as opposition fans aren't being goaded. Enjoy the smooth as there's plenty of rough which isn't as much fun.

I think the weather probably helped with the racing last night too. While meetings later in the season can mean wet and cold tracks it can also help get a bit more moisture in the base, the surface was pretty much perfect last night for most of the meeting with enough grip for those who wanted to use it. Wasn't slick and dusty and the racing reflected that. Really looking forward to the two legs of the final, hopefully both sides are at full strength amd the dreaded guests can be avoided.

I don't disagree with you as I prefer the top of the league system, but while Play Offs attract bigger crowds and any TV deal demands it then they are here to stay.

Sounds like Swindon are a good watch this season. -
I think Ipswich are favourites and I'm expecting them to win it all things being equal but I think they will be made to gallop at times rather than canter by Sheffield or Leicester.
