I quite understand people have different opinions. What irritates me is the fans who still moan on here when a price increase doesn't even affect them. Correct me if I'm wrong but I can't remember seeing any OAP (except me) comment on the subject. However, it's been quite clear over the years there are some who don't like the current promotion so take every opportunity to criticize and it's the same people every time.

Don't say we're going to have another 'Will they/won't they' be racing scenario like the Kings Lynn v Coventry match? Sky pull out so Leicester want to revert back to their usual Saturday race night and call the match off.
-
I know you don't go because you have said that on here on more than one occasion.....unless you're telling porkies of course and just say that for effect as woz01 posted "I like the posts from people that say "well I'm not going this week" but I still see them there and made up stories that friends are not going etc. Its like they have an agenda or something." Wasn't it twice you went last season? I don't personally know why the promoters have changed the price structure but they have explained and I do know that pound for pound for a family it is still cheaper to go to Coventry than it is to go to my local track Leicester. Presumably the idea was to encourage more children/students to go but of course that system has been abused so is all up in the air at the moment.
-
It is £18 at Leicester. I agree about not buying a programme though because I never do in spite of promoters going out of their way to make it as difficult as possible to find out the teams in riding order. In my case I'd rather turn up with a blank programme and fill it in when I get there so they still don't win.
-
There's another good example. Why are you complaining on behalf of OAP's when you don't even go? I am an OAP but am quite prepared to pay the extra £3 if it will help the promoters balance the books at the end of our last season. Do you really think any Speedway promoters these days are making loads of money to stash away?
-
It's only the same handful of people all the time though and some of them don't even go to Coventry anyway so one has to wonder why they are bothered about admission prices, apart from the fact they can have a good moan of course.
-
I was going to suggest you post this in the GP section but on checking I see that you already have so I hope you get some help with your questions.
-
A must for me is 'Dogs allowed'. If they are banned because there are a few Sheep in the next field then that's me done for. Anyway, being pessimistic I can't see a new stadium being built anywhere in Coventry but I wait to be proved wrong.

I'd say the answers to those 2 questions are 'No' and 'Yes'.

Poole Pirates Vs Lakeside Hammers 6/4/16

60 - 30 to Poole. -
Over to Speedibee for the answer. The foreigners list might be quite long.

Poole Pirates Vs Lakeside Hammers 6/4/16

They'll probably hit 60 in every match, except against Belle Vue when they might be restricted to 50. -
Okay fair enough. Perhaps I should change my comment to all the Leicester fans I know would have preferred to stay in the Premier League and even more so now after the last couple of years. Maybe PL racing wasn't particularly exciting because of the shape of the track more than the standard of rider? I've watched loads of matches at Peterborough and 9 times out of 10 the racing is on a par with E.L. if not better. Anyway, glad something has been done about the track now. Better late than never.
-
I don't think there were many Leicester fans who wanted the Lions to be in the Elite League anyway and they were quite happy with PL racing on a Saturday night with a bigger variety of teams. The decision was more down to David's ambition I should think and as it appears he can be rather stubborn ~ hence taking no notice of 90% of fans wishing for the track to be changed ~ it looks like it will be another season of struggle. Sad really.
-
Which would probably mean a close match? Kings Lynn v Coventry sounds a better prospect than Poole v Leicester, or even Poole v anyone except Belle Vue.
-
It's getting ridiculous with Sky now saying they want 48 hours notice when the weather can be so unpredictable. Coventry tried to do the sensible thing last season and wanted to call the match against Poole off in the morning but weren't allowed to. I think we can all remember what happened afterwards. Great television I'm sure.
-
Coventry might suck but Kings Lynn aren't on that good form at the moment having just lost heavily at home. Could have been quite an evenly matched encounter......or perhaps not as Bees get the backlash. Bit personal?
-
Agree. I'm a big fan of Bomber but he won't pass Kylmakorpi round the outside. It might work with other riders but not Joonas.
-
It's no good Bomber continually trying the outside line against someone like Kylmakorpi because he is the expert at it round Brandon and there is no way Chris would be able to pass him round the outside. Met him 3 times and failed 3 times. I've always liked Joonas and it was very disappointing he wasn't signed up again for 2016. Forgot to say ~ well done Wolves on a deserved win.

It will be interesting to see how Belle Vue fare this season now they also have 2 teams as it seems really hard to get E.L. fans to support N.L. matches.
-
I think the difference between Eastbourne getting a good crowd for NL matches and Coventry not is purely down to the Eagles having only one team to support whereas we have two and a lot of fans are just not interested in anything except the Bees unfortunately.
-
That's the one. Thanks very much.

Ha Ha. I'll sign up for 'Synchronized Mobility Scooter' lessons if there is one.

I think all the remaining matches will be on a Friday night on GP weekends so hopefully the attendance will improve as perhaps some people had other things to do on a Bank Holiday afternoon. Yes, the track staff did a very good job to get this on and the biggest surprise was how dry and dusty it was after all that rain. I don't know who does the music now but I like it. I've finally managed of work out the title of one of the songs 'I Wanna Make You Sweat' and have been trying to find it on YouTube but no luck so far. Hope Martin Knuckey is okay after that nasty crash.

Wolverhampton V Belle Vue 29 March
Gemini replied to Rob B's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The Storm meeting at Coventry was on this afternoon after hours of rain on Sunday and overnight. The track staff must have worked wonders to get this match on and unbelievably it was so dry and dusty the water wagon had to come out several times. Just shows what can be done with a bit of effort.
