Think that was always most likely in the circumstances The established 5 will just shuffle the most sought after riders between them and leave the new 2 to pick up the pieces In the abscence of any new blood (there seems little rider appetite from outside the current pool) its very difficult to break the mould of also rans To do so would probably require greater finance than the purse strings attached to this new set up allows

All it means at the moment is the top league will get new 2nd tier riders on lower averages as the conversion increases No existing riders will be affected whilst they continue in both leagues as the averages for each level are retained (Harris has a lower average in the Premiership than the Championship) It will make it harder for any top tier riders not currently doubling down to do so - but realistically who that isnt already is likely to want to -
Indeed - they need to be clear in what they want to achieve and construct the reg accordingly Is it competed in the 3rd tier Is it British passport holders Is it those elligible to ride for GB internationally And if one contadicts another which has the override In many ways it doesnt matter which current riders would be included/excluded as it should be the principle that is important not the individual

I would say its too early for Brennan to be in the top league He will do a fine job in the Championship - thats where he should be for his own development -

To double up the rider needs to have achieved 4.5 in the Championship so with new 1.5 conversion this produced the minimum 3 in the Premiership What is not clear is if a rider does not ride in the Championship/doesnt have an established average. I think then the new minimum assessment of 3 would apply and they would be allowed. So Brennan could ride but only if he has no place in one of the other leagues -
If riders are doing anything to cause a stumbling block for a league sponsor then they really are being short sighted

But there is no such thing as a No1 rate and a reserve rate Infact Id expect some clubs are paying reserves as much as others are offering No1s Clubs will only be offering (in most cases) a 1 year contract at a time therefore can only (IMO) demand loyalty for 1 year at a time -

Lets use your scenario Kyle Bickley starts at Worky last year Lets say he was on £40 per point Fast forward 5 years and in order for him not to miss a whole season somewhere along the line he still potentially has to ride for £40 per point even if he progresses to No1 status Bonkers -

In fact I dont think Flint is even 16 yet - therefore what other realistic starting assessed average could he possibly be given than the basic 2 This is all because it doesnt suit your club I am absolutely sure had Kemp and or Flint signed for Somerset this would not have been your stance -

And now we have someone suggesting that 2 16 year olds with no real experience are picked out for handicapping in their first season in the CL! I despair -
As Ive stated on various other threads We all know what the real intention of the reg is - to assist British riders It just needs the correct composition in order to exclude those that did indded start in the 3rd tier but whos status would not now meet the entry qualification Anyone calling for the reduction to apply to the Aussie in their side is just perpetuating the self interest and manipulation that is at the core of the sports issues
