  1. Saturday night at Wimborne Road would be great. Certainly attract away fans and neutrals.
  2. On another point, the promotion is considering if the fans would prefer a Friday or Saturday race night now that the dogs have gone. We have been a Wednesday night club for a long time before shifting to Thursdays, which brought about a 20% drop in season tickets. Would fans prefer to come along with their kids on a weekend with no school the next day? I believe there are going to be a couple of weekend meetings in the pipeline this season.
  3. Riders like Klindt would do a far better job than Meisac and Krakowiak imo. Can’t understand why Klindt can’t get an extraleague berth. His gating alone would bring in some points.
  4. Leszno have got this. Overall strength far greater than the home side, who are trying to cling on but it’s slowly slipping. Someone other than Nicki needs to come to the party. Leszno far too strong in later heats.
  5. Something that Dan Bewley currently lacks is the aggression of Woffinden and Lambert. Needs to build up his strength and not worry about upsetting a rival ad he forces his way through. He might get there.
  6. Chris Holder struggling badly. Old Father Time has caught him up I am afraid. Been a super rider in his time but think it could well be his last season the top flight. 0,0,0 must be doing his head in. Lublin looking so good. Other than Lambert Torun have nothing to offer.
  7. Had a good long chat with a person of note last night. He explained in detail the reasoning of why tickets need to be sold in batches of 6. And it was really out of his hands. As you can all guess, the landlord did not want the stadium re-opened. They only have 2 staff and making a mint out of the car park. 500 cars at £7 a day. Matt Ford now HAS TO employ 21 covid security staff, all qualified in covid security, and costing Poole Speedway £2100 a meeting. He can’t use the regular stewards if they have not attended the relevant covid security courses. So £100 a pop and there has to be 21. The club have not been allowed any access into the stadium since the first lockdown. They can now finally get in and start to tidy up, get the place marked out, and get the riders without track time the opportunity to get some desperately needed practice. Hopefully today a behind closed doors session. Now to the ticketing. The council said 900 fans could attend. Matt said that would mean a loss. So it’s been upped to 1200, with just 400 allowed in the glass grandstand, 500 in the main and the rest on the bends. If Matt sold a single ticket, that would rule out 5 fans, as the 1 fan would sit in an area for 6 and no others would be allowed to sit there. It would reduce attendance to about 500 and a big financial loss. The meeting will be streamed live. Unsure what the fee will be to watch, probably the same as Glasgow. The club are definitely looking into streaming meetings live. It will come down to cost. I think I heard the overall cost of £2000 for this meeting to be streamed. Think the price would be considerably less per meeting for the club going forward. The reason the Berwick meeting is not being delayed until after 21st June is two fold. The fans want to see racing, and secondly, as a team, to ride several away meetings with no home meetings could mean the team start with several defeats which doesn’t give the riders confidence. Wins breed confidence. There was plenty more which is currently best left alone at the moment, but the main thing is Poole Speedway will be up and running on 9th June and we can thank Matt Ford for some seriously determined words and for the council to finally get off their arse and back him. Now after thinking about the 6 ticket situation, I would say this as my thoughts. Call/Facebook/Twitter/email/message/Instagram/Telegram/WhatsApp your friends who you meet at the stadium, and get one to buy 6 tickets. The have the others PayPal or transfer their ticket money to you. Or meet the at the stadium car park and pay you for the ticket. It’s the only way to guarantee access to the meeting. Is this breaking the rules? I guess so. But most of us have had our second jab, we are outside, and we are wearing masks. The security are not going to ask if we are two families or one. If they do, you are all brothers or sisters. If you are unhappy about this paragraph, that’s fine and understandable. You can pay and watch the meeting on a live stream. But I just don’t see any other way of gaining access to the stadium other than what I have just written.
  8. Speedway still in the dark ages. Whole market out there willing to pay a tenner for a stream. £10,000 going begging. Denmark stream for free. About time the sport realised there’s lots of money to be made by streaming services and came into the 21st century.
  9. Unlucky of the young lad in heat one when easily leading. Makes me feel in any rerun starts should be staggered in order of when the race was stopped, the rider in second starting one bike length down with third a bike length further back.
  10. Speedway isn’t football. I am going to Plymouth and Eastbourne next week. Had no issues booking single tickets. I have made the call re: tickets at Poole. And we have just booked two tickets for Birmingham away.
  11. What about away fans? What if a couple from Berwick have booked time off to come down and paid for hotel rooms already?
  12. If the rules are changing in June to open up, surely it’s better to cancel this meeting completely and put it back to when the stadium can fully re-open.
  13. Then what would you suggest Neil? Pay £108 or stay away? As Bob C has said, why not follow the simple Plymouth method until you get to 30% ?
  14. Well It’s groups of 6 on the bends as well on bubbles, so I have a choice. 1. Pay £108 to watch the meeting. (Price of 6 tickets) 2. Stay at home and forget about it. 3. Buy 6 tickets and tout 4 outside to strangers and sell one to my mate. 4. Find 4 others who are willing to PayPal me the price of a ticket which will be picked up from me at the gate or posted to them. At least this way singles will get it to the meeting.
  15. Many fans go on their own and meet up with the same bunch every year. Have done for many years. Regulars are going to crap out because they are the only ones in their household who go. Not a fair method at all. How about offering single tickets to fans who wish to stand on the first bend? I had no issues buying at ticket for next weeks Plymouth v Poole meeting in the main stand.
  16. Don’t like the ticketing method at all. Means I have little chance of attending, unless I buy 6 or 4 tickets. Doubt single or double tickets will go on sale meaning many fans could miss out.
  17. New re-arranged date. Coming down for this one. First time the Mighty Poole Pirates have ever ridden here? Think we might have in the inter league thingy years ago. Remember it being rained off. Must have been rerun but I didn’t make it. Never been to this track though driven past it a couple of times. Our first meeting of the season so the team will be a bit rusty. Not bothered by the score just glad to finally see some racing action. Heard it’s a tiny track. Should be interesting. Just had a look at the Plymouth team. Dad’s army! Crump and Bjarne! Now I am really looking forward to a great nights entertainment. Place should be heaving! Note. You have to buy your ticket online in advance. Home straight is already sold out. https://www.trybooking.com/uk/events/landing?eid=17778&
  18. Love the clip from KL as Jorgensen celebrates a win, only for Danny King to pip him. Egg on face or what?
