If the meeting is rained off on Friday morning I wonder if the riders are available on Saturday or the Sunday. Both days are dry. With riders in the country perhaps it could be quickly re-scheduled? Obviously dogs might be in the way Saturday night but what about Saturday lunchtime? Or Sunday? Are riders booked elsewhere?
-
Chance of a shower in the morning. Should be fine unless the forecast changes.

The jealosy from the Poole haters is fun to read. Utter guff as any sensible person would know. Up the pirates!
-
Sensible decision as it was unfair on shorter riders. two minures is just that, two minutes. Garden your spot, but don’t turn around to clear your goggles.
-
Been out today to come home to three pages of absolute guff. all the Poole haters out in strength. Pooles fault Coventry closed, pooles fault clubs have folded, Pooles fault crowds are down, Pooles fault Trump got caught with a porn star, Pooles fault the Aussie cricket team got caught cheating.............ad nausium. Up the Pirates!

Ford is by far the best promoter in this country. Nobody else comes close. Its a fact that one some fans struggle to live with. If Matt Ford was promoter at say, Kings Lynn rather than Poole, I would be looking on enviously wanting my promoter to emulate what he is doung to bring success. Saying he is cheating/bending the rules / has his own set of rules etc lar dee dar dee dar, or any other rubbish thrown at him stinks of petty jealousy. People moan that the sport comes across as amateur, but when we have one seriously professional promoter, some fans don’t like it!
-
Stinks of petty jealousy from a fan of a club that is run in a manner which is an embarresment to the league. Speedway is a competition. In it to win it. There’s no other way of looking at it. Stop being green behind the ears.
-
So basically the usual cash flow issue which kills many companies. Their fault.
-
How do you work that one out?
-
What ruling has now gone in favour of Poole?
-
Smoke and mirrors from certain promotions sorry to say. No 9 point gp rider rule never existed by the look of it. Gordon Pairman confirmed this a few days ago.
-
And reading the last few posts you wonder why Poole fans get defensive about our club. Say enough rubbish enough times and people actually start to believe it! Here’s a fact for you. Poole use the same rules as every other club. The problem is, the majority of the other clubs are owned by promoters who just don’t have the same savvy/money/ability/dedicated time to compete and that’s why over the last 20 years Poole have become the most successful club. Nothing will change because there’s currently not another promoter out there as dedicated to the sport as Matt Ford. It’s a fact. It’s his full time job and he demands success. As Middlo said at P&P, many clubs would see making the playoffs a successful season, but to Poole it was abject failure to bomb out in the semis. It’s up to other promotions to raise their game. If they were all of the same ilk as Ford the sport would be in a healthy state in the UK.

I said the meeting at Poole could be closer. But I don’t believe Somerset will get that close. And Poole have a chance of keeping it close or a narrow win in the evening. I believe Poole are far too strong for Somerset this season, and if the team ride to their potential, will be a formidable force everywhere.
-
That high score from Lawson was a fluke imo. It’s the only time he has ever scored anything like that at Poole. I would rather he was riding than guest or r/r/. The fact its the Poole boys first action, when Somerset will have already ridden a meeting, might make it a bit closer. as for the second leg, have Woryna, Spanner or Sundstrum ever ridden Somerset?

SBP best pairs 2018 live on Eurosport
Steve Shovlar replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
Seems the Polish speedway fans also think the format of these meetings (corporate teams with no fan vase) is ridiculous, as hardly anyone has bothered to turn up live. A few good heats of racing though, with Madsen a cut above everyone, and continuing his 2017 form. -
To choose Thorsell over Lindgren was a ludicrous decision. CVS lost his marbles.
-
What is the reasoning for no press and practice? Don’t the promotion want to advertise their new season to the press? Why ban the Rye fans from coming along? Seems an absolute shambolic way to start the season.
-
Another question. Did Chris Holder leave the UK this last winter? He had no issue going to Poland and riding after is Kings Lynn sacking and coming back into the UK.
